5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Keyboard for Work
As someone who works in IT, a keyboard isn't just an accessory; it's a daily tool. I was fed up with uncomfortable keyboards, so I decided to try the Keychron K5 Pro. It's been a fantastic choice for someone who values comfort and reliability over gaming features. The love the low-profile design of this keyboard. It's so comfortable that I can't imagine going back to traditional keycaps. Initially, I thought I'd prefer a keyboard with a numpad, but the K5 Pro felt a bit too large. I switched to the K1 Pro version and couldn't be happier. The RGB backlight with customizable options is a nice touch, although I wish it were a bit brighter. The real highlight for me is the customizable keys. Using VIA software, you can tailor each key and record macros, which is incredibly useful. The only downside is the sleep mode. The keyboard goes to sleep after a period of inactivity, and waking it up takes a few seconds longer than I'd like.Overall, I highly recommend the Keychron K5 Pro for anyone looking for a high-quality, professional keyboard. It's perfect for work, offering both comfort and advanced features.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great first mechanical keyboard
I've owned quite a few low profile keyboards in my time but this is my first mechanical keyboard. I'm loving it so far. The keys are obviously noisier than my previous Logitech MX Keys but my conference speaker and Teams do a great job of cancelling the noise so I can still type away in meetings (complaining about what someone is saying!!!).The typing experience is lovely and I like how it's still low profile. I've just also tried the CORSAIR K70 PRO and like this much better for typing as the keys are nicely spaced. And don't get me started on the horrendous sound of the CORSAIR K70 PRO (it's being returned). The only downsides of this keyboard is that the lights aren't very powerful and they don't offer a way of choosing a colour scheme (you have various pattern settings). Plus the battery doesn't last more than a week.
1.0 out of 5 stars Some keys don't work
I bought two of these - one for me and one for a colleague. Set both up fine - the hardware is aesthetically great and the switch feel is good, as expected. However, on both keyboards, there were several keys that only intermittently worked. We are both technical and troubleshot everything for about two hours and eventually gave up when we saw someone else online had had a similar issue that they isolated back to loose components on the main PCB, which for a £120 keyboard is just astonishing. I'm pretty surprised that we had any, let alone two duds but can't afford to be messing around when there's valuable typing to be done. Very disappointing QC from Keychron.
5.0 out of 5 stars Just stunning
Keyboards are tricky, its hard to convey just what a brilliant bit of kit this is.Please do not be fooled by logitech, its total trash. This is a pristine and premium product but without a ridiculous surcharge. It just feels wonderful - a bit like the first time that you use an Apple product. So impressed. Makes typing a joy. And not too noisy at that.I cannot recommend this highly enough,.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice mechanical keyboard
Pros: sturdy built, nice feel, quiet (for a mechanical keyboard anyway -- it's still clicky of course, even with red switches). adjustable backlight (using key combinations even without software), works with Mac, Windows and Linux (some setup might be required); extra caps included, key removal tool included. Cons: very bright Num Lock indicator and bright Caps Lock indicator; sort cable (about 1m).
