5.0 out of 5 stars Not cheap but totally worth it
I have been using fitness bands for the last few years to track my daily routine and my occasional outdoor exercises (cycling and hiking mostly).I wanted to have a watch instead of a band and tried some Fitbit devices but they were too buggy. I mulled over this watch for a long time due to the price, but to be honest, once I got it, I can honestly say it's the perfect one for me.I use it all day and night to track my daily routine and sleep. Body battery is accurate since when it shows being close to 0, I really do feel like my energy is gone completely. Morning reports on the watch are a nice touch to get a quick feel of what your sleep quality was and also what's in store for the day ahead.Never had any issues with the watch during exercises, the data it captures is accurate and very detailed. The mobile app is really good and the connection to the watch is seamless, never have I struggled to sync anything (hear this Fitbit?). Battery life is about 1 week when doing 4-5 exercises that use GPS too, so pretty good. You have access to some default watch faces, get some from the store or even design your one.To be honest, I've recommended this watch to friends that wanted a smart watch, since although it's from Garmin, you don't have to be an athlete to use one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
Absolutely overjoyed with this watch. Very comfortable, user friendly and very precise. 10/10. Great value for money, excellent screen clarity and display quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars So much better than the Venu 2
The oximeter is now more accurate, it matches the readings I get from a fingertip reader. The Venu 2 used to be roughly 4-5% lower all round. Heart rate monitor is accurate but I haven’t yet tested it under gym conditions with cardio or weight training where my HR would vary rapidly. It logs naps pretty accurately though it can be fooled into thinking you’re asleep when you’re simply not moving while watching a movie. The sleep measurement function is better but not perfect, I can be fairly safe in seeing if I have sleep apnea episodes overnight. Older watches used to be affected by pressure on the watch while asleep.Shame it took 3 versions to get it just about right.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice item but over priced
Usual garmin quality and some nice improvements over the venu 2 however I still feel the venu series is over priced.
5.0 out of 5 stars Massive improvement over my 4yr old Garmin vivoactive 3
I love its long battery life and brilliance and clarity of its display. It has loads of features, a lot of the which I'm not going to use, but for monitoring my sleep and health and my walks it is such an improvement over my old watch. I agonised for months over its purchase and when I saw its price dip under £400 again I made the move that I should have done months ago. I wanted an altimeter for my walks which ruled out some of the alternatives and I must say that it seems to work better than the one on my Vivoacive 3. It cost a lot more than the old Vivoactive 3 but so far it seems well worth it and I am discovering more features and using them every day (l only had it 5 days ago)
3.0 out of 5 stars Not much of an improvement over the Venu 2 plus
I have enjoyed using a Venu 2 plus for several years. It had some imperfections, especially with regard to sleep tracking and the assistant feature but on the whole I liked it a lot. I decided to upgrade to the Venu 3 recently as it had several enhancements to the interface and came in a bigger size. I was particularly interested in the nap feature, as I get a lot of my sleep that way and wanted it all to be accurately recorded. Unfortunately my hopes in this regard were dashed, as it very rarely noted that I had had a nap and even when it did it only gave the alleged duration of the nap. In some cases, if the nap were fairly late in the day, it would be added to the night's sleep data but you would then be got at for having a restless night. In addition the body battery seems a lot worse than the Venu 2 plus version, as it was always saying my battery was depleted to the extent that I would be bound to have an arduous day. And as for the sleep coach this was just laughable as it was suggesting I should sleep for about two hours more than my norm in order to be able to function during the day - all very annoying and not at all true. The final straw is that the enhancements, if that is what they are, over the Venu 2 plus are mostly software related and there seems be no reason why the Venu 2 plus could not be updated with the new interface, which I do rather like. The display is really good, as is the battery life and the fitness tracking is excellent but then it is just as good on the Venu 2 plus, so the upgrade seems pointless taking all into consideration.Fianlly the price is excessive at over £400.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good watch and decent battery
Battery lasts approx 1 week which is so nice after an apple watch which hardly lasted a day
1.0 out of 5 stars disappointed
a lot of money for a watch the daily sticks on iq on the screen.also once the safety alarm went off for no reason and i couldn't get it off without resetting.requested a refund as i have no trust in this product to be told they will try and fix it first.consumers rights eh:-))Still awaiting refund or any kind of contact even though they have garmin back.shocking way to treat any customer and Bolo customer service have been just as useless
The BEST smartwatch for fitness and diet enthusiasts, period.
The media could not be loaded. Let me preface this by saying I chose this one after buying, trying, and then returning the Apple Watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch, FitBit, and a couple of other lesser-known brands. I actually went with a Garmin Venu Sq. 2 first and I loved it, at which point I bought this one due to the beautiful, large AMOLED screen and because it runs on the sand base software. That’s a GOOD thing, so let me elaborate. This is by far the most accurate watch for counting the total calories burned. The Apple Watch simply did not let me view the TOTAL calories burned, as it would show your estimated basal metabolic rate and then stack the active expenditure in a separate category, so you’d have to go back and forth to view each one and then add it up. The Galaxy watch suffered a similar problem, but it was not that accurate at measuring steps, which would directly affect the caloric expenditure. The FitBit was just WILDLY inaccurate and once told me I burned 5000+ calories in a day because I had a panic episode after something bad happened in my personal life, and so that night it registered me as having burned thousands of calories just laying in bed.The Garmin, however, did everything right (accurate steps that match the ones my iPhone said to within 5%, heart rate matched a professional blood pressure cuff, and the calorie counter tracked my weight loss exactly). It is extremely useful when counting calories where a slim margin is needed, such as aiming to lose 750 calories a day to lose 1.5 lbs/week. It it’s off by just 100 or 200, that’s already a half pound off, or 26 pounds a year.It is extremely important to me that it gets it right. It also has a ton of features, but I don’t use them honestly. It’s very easy to connect and set up, too. The price is subjectively fair but objectively it is quite high. Regardless, I am very pleased with it. The battery life is EXCELLENT if you turn Bluetooth and WiFi off, too. 5/5 all around!
Really amazed
I am really amazed with this watch. I had serveral including the VENU 1.A lot of nice functions like the sleep companion, sensors are very acurate, the screen display is really great, lots of sport supported.Happy with the purchase so far!
