I’ve never shaved with a razor like this before but it was quick and easy to use and was sharp right out of the box! It’s also very easy to keep clean and keep clean!

Out of the box it is sharp but not razor sharp, it was a bit rough on the first shave but I then I used the strop and it gave the blade the razor edge it needed. This is a great buy for anyone looking to switch to a straight razor as though it may not be the greatest quality in the world but it will teach you how to care for your razor and learn how to sharpen a straight razor correctly which it seems many people who review this shy away from and don’t put in the work and the effort that this sort of razor requires. Those kind of people should stick to a basic over manufactured razor that takes 5 seconds to shave with.Only after learning how to care for your razor properly would I recommend moving on to a higher quality item as inexperience could ruin it.This type of razors should teach a man, discipline, patience, humility and gentleness, resolve as this razor requires discipline to keep it in a good working order, patience not to rush or you will cut yourself very easily if not gentle, and the resolve not to give up because the first time you use it you will end up cutting yourself multiple times as I did many years ago when I started using straight razors. A simple task such as shaving can teach the right person to become a gentleman as it require the qualities of a gentleman.For me the handle is too light, I would’ve like it to be a bit more heavy in my hand but that’s just a personal preference. I think many people will find this piece more then adequate for their first or second straight razor. However for the more experienced hands out there I’d recommend something more expensive and better quality.

Poor quality finish and extremely cheap metal used to make the blade making it almost impossible to hone it for safe use, if you want your face to be hacked to pieces and have to go over the same spot multiple times this is the razor for you if you want a useful and reliable razor look elsewhere!!

I purchased a M&LD Straigth Razor recently; alongwide a wetstone set from another seller. I was aware that a straight blade razor required sharpening and maintenance. However the blade arrived extremely blunt. Unable to even cut through a carrot, let alone any body hair!Whilst I have now managed to sharpen the blade up to a 10,000 grit level; going off of the wetstone sharpening set, I would say the blade arrived at 400 or 500 grit. It had a bevel set, but expected the blade to at least arrive at a 2000/3000 level.Quite shocked really. Yes it is well priced, but I expected the blade to have at least some level of sharpness.

I got this item due to another I bought from a different supplier was terrible, it was nearly impossible to sharpen, this on the other hand comes with a very sharp blade amd a fairly cheap and nasty strop, packaging is cheap and not well packaged but don't let that deter you from the straight edge razor.I have used them for years and this one feels good in the hand, the blade is slightly shorter than my last one but feels like I have more control over it, it feels like very good quality materials used and a nice blade, I got the one with the black blade, the appearance is good.The downside to this in my opinion is only the strop, if you can get a quality one elsewhere and some strop balm then you will be set.Highly recommended item.
