Flavours to suit all. Nice consistency and easy to drink.
5.0 out of 5 stars For the lazy athlete
It's good stuff, I use it as a meal replacement often when I'm WFH and need nourishment but can't be bothered to invest even a minute in preparing something. When training, it gives a useful additional 35g protein and slides down super-easy before bed.Not for those on a tight budget though. I have a reasonable income, few outgoings, I'm lazy and disorganised, so I afford myself this luxury.
4.0 out of 5 stars Huel is Cool
I remember the old meal replacements back in the 1990s that tasted of cardboard and chemicals. This tastes nothing like them and there are several flavours I could actually drink for pleasure. This stuff is actively nice to drink. You won't need to hold your nose or choke it down as "good for you".The thing is that these are not slimming shakes and aren't marketed as such - although they are undeniably a better option than the hotdog-and-fries in a works canteen. They're meal-replacement and contain about as many calories as a healthy meal would without the need to prepare and reheat a meal. They're also relatively inexpensive at 3.50 a pop.The plan with Huel is that it's quick-and-easy and you just open, pour and drink and there is a nutritious, complete meal. If you're somewhere where it might be difficult to get a healthy meal and eat it then they might make perfect sense. It's really convenient to just pop open that bottle, chug and get on with stuff. The problem I found is that I did enjoy drinking it, but it didn't keep me full. I knew I'd had my Huel but my tummy just knew I'd drank something and felt cheated and by 4pm starting to fuss and worry as if I'd only had a cuppa for lunch. So I under up reaching for snacks. Not a good look. The other thing is that I can't really see me doing this every day indefinitely. I think for me Huel is a great product to keep on the shelf and take with me when I know I would struggle to find a decent meal. It's convenient, nutritious and fast.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Meal replacement
I have been using these in situations at work where I have no acsess to food for long periods. These do the job. Store them in or out of the fridge. Flavours are good too.
5.0 out of 5 stars I’m no Huel fool .
Recently discovered Huel and very glad I did . Satisfying tasty and filling, I’m a Huel convert
5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth itI
I like the fact you can order any number of flavours for your bundle. Good price too. I use Huel when im travelling as it’s a simple and easy breakfast that keeps me filled up for a good while.Particularily liked the Cinnamon flavour which I’ve not found in retail shops. All the flavours are good. You can’t really go wrong with this product … and it’s plant based which i also really love as someone who follows the WFPB diet.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Meal Substitute With A Couple Of Caveats
Having fallen into the trap of making bad mealtime choices, I decided to give this a go. I was cynical at first, but having been an avid Diary of a CEO listener, I gave Steven Bartlett the benefit of the doubt. At £3.75 a bottle, these are cheaper than a McDonalds meal, and at 400kcal it's a decent meal with reasonable macros with around 20g protein. It doesn't taste like an unhealthy milkshake, but rather like a gloopy milkshake with slightly artificial aftertastes, despite their natural ingredients suggestions. The banana flavour I found the most palatable and I was surprised how full it made me feel. This is probably because of the 19g of fat. It can keep me full from 1200-1600 and the hunger at 1600 is bearable until around 1730.
4.0 out of 5 stars Shake Meal
The drink provides energy but it has a powdery residue with a slight chemical aftertaste.
