5.0 out of 5 stars It works
Easy to apply and it works great.
4.0 out of 5 stars Stylish bottle and seems pretty effective
I like the styling of the bottle - pretty stylish to be fair and the spray action works well. The application is simple, just a simple spray all over in a well-ventilated room, or preferably outdoors and leave to (very quickly) dry and job done.I tested this on a pair of Goretex walking boots that are no longer fully waterproof like they once were and which let water through even on walking through wet fields. After a cautious test spray and no discolouration I gave the boots a liberal spray of this and wore the boots on my next wet walk (didn't have to wait long!).There is a noticeable improvement in waterproofing of the boots as a result. They are not totally waterproof again like they once were but definitely improved.Using this a few times will save me buying a new pair of boots for a while and so I'll be doing my running trainers too which will hopefully produce similar results (although they are a bit more meshed and so results obviously won't be as good).I can't yet tell how long term the treatment is but initial impressions are good.I would highlight however as one negative that this DFNS spray at £12.99 for 200ml just seems to be priced a little too expensive to me.The best known brand possibly in this market is Nikwax and their 300ml spray bottle is cheaper than this 200 ml bottle and is widely tested/known and favourably reviewed. The aerosol spray of this one makes it a bit quicker to treat shoes but you're getting better value with the Nikwax product.Because of that I've dropped a star as other products provide better value.4 stars from me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
Fantastic
3.0 out of 5 stars Too expensive
Too expensive. Thought I would try it out to make my new Ugg slippers mark and waterproof, didn’t do either. I thought at least it would make them at least splash proof, unfortunately not. 👎🏻
4.0 out of 5 stars Certainly helps, but not miraculous
Trying this on various boots with suede and mesh type uppers, it is certainly helpful in repelling water splashes so you don't get as damp as you otherwise might. It's not going to do much if you walking through deeper puddles though, it's not a miracle worker.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy
This review is for the “ DFNS Footwear Protector Spray, Liquid-Repellent Waterproof Dirt Repellent Solution for Leather, Suede, Nubuck, & Canvas Shoes, Trainers, Sneakers Care‘We all know how expensive footwear can get so having a pair ruined by mud or rain is the absolute pits. The DFNS Footwear Protector Spray helps to significantly reduce spoilage and gives you a better chance of getting indoors without ruining your favourite trainers/boots/shoes.As it is water-based it will need to be topped up every now and then but there is enough in a single can to do 8 pairs of shoes/trainers (I’d say that is around 3 pairs of knee-high boots).Really good value for money and it saves you a bunch too! I recommend this.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good and easy to use.
This comes in a good quality aerosol can which makes it very easy to apply. It's easy to use, pretty much just spray on clean shoes and wipe off any excess from nonporous parts then leave to dry. The spray has very little odour compared to some sprays but use in a well ventilated room.I tried this on suede and fabric shoes. It worked very well on the suede making them pretty much completely waterproof. On the fabric shoes as you'd expect it didn't work as well as water could still get between the fibres but it did still help to keep the outer shoe dry.Overall a very good shoe waterproofing spray which is priced ok but could be cheaper for a 200ml can.
5.0 out of 5 stars Helps keep feet dry
It's important to note with products like these that they do not make your shoes waterproof but water resistant. Don't expect to walk through puddles and your feet to be bone dry. I got this to try on my trainers for dog walks when the grass is still damp after rain or have the morning dew. This performed similar to how I expected it in this reduces the rate my feet would get wet/damp in the toe area. The thing I do notice is once the water come through thats it. It's broken the seal and I guess because there is more on the outside it all whats built up tries to come in. At the same time though they still get damp from time to time, just less so. I should note I testing this on Adidas running trainers which are very breathable. These are not Goretex or hiking shoes designed to be somewhat waterproof. When applying this stuff make sure you do it in an area that has a lot of ventilation or even better outside as there is quite a strong smell from the spray. I left my trainers outside for a few hours to "air out". After bringing them in a giving them a good sniff there was a slight hint of the spray left over but nothing that you will be able to notice within the house.Overall I like this spray and it perform around how I expected. It won't make standard trainers waterproof but can help. At 12 quid for 200ml it might not be worth the expense but I've yet to see how long it lasts before needing to be re-applied.
Prima Spray ...
