Total waste of money because it’s misleading,I bought this to temporarily fill a broken tooth where filling had fallen out,it says for tooth filling but that means full tooth and you can’t wear in bed either,I needed something temporary untill I see the dentist on the 17th sept
3.0 out of 5 stars Not quick, will take a few tries
I got this to put in our dental health kit.It is really for temporary use for if you have broken a tooth or for making a false tooth to fill where a missing tooth would sit.You can also cover a misshapen tooth with it..I wanted to fill in a gap where my tooth was removed in my teens ,just to feel more confident if we are out with family as I always try not to smile wide enough for the gap to show. Its a molar so quite a challenge. The kit consists of a 4 inch tall bottle of polymer plastic beads and 4 tools 3 1/2" long made of metal. The stuff is actually little pellets and you use between 16 and 25 for a full tooth though you might want a few more to be able to shape your tooth. You can ut the snipped off bits back in your bottle for reusing.I measured out 20 to see how many teeth could be made from the kit and it looks like you could make lots.Heat some water (you can save some of it in a flask so you get more than one try per heating session)Steep your pellets in the water till they go clear. They are soft and you can shape one to about your tooth's width then pinch it to look more like a tooth. You dont want to make long roots as your gum will have shrunk and the holes where roots used to go dont remain.Press the stuff into the shape left by the missing tooth. You need to make a little tab to fit around the back of your existing teeth.Check the progress in the mirror. You can resoften it if you need to.The beads are white and you may need to add a little tea to them when you melt them to get more your real tooth colour. You get a small instruction leaflet but it shows them working on an artificial gum so you'll have to do a bit of trial and error learning.Best not to make you tooth so tight that you cant get it out again.I found it is a good idea to shape it ,fit it , remove it, wait till its hard. Try to fit it back in your mouth(itll be too big), remelt just the outer layer and reshape . If you make it a bit loose, it will expand a little bit as it hardens, if you make it a snug fit, it will be too big when it hardens.I need to make the top part better on my false tooth. It looks okay from the sire but cover parts of the top of the adjacent teeth which is quite noticeable due to their being filled.Expect to take a long time to get it to both be hard and fit well.Dont try to fill a new cavity with it else you may trap bacteria under it and make things worse. I like that you can just remelt the results and try again if you get it wrong. It can be a little frustrating to get it right and then find its got bigger as it hardens. The tools appear to be nothing to do with tooth shaping but they are good little tools nonetheless. This could be a useful little set for making temporary teeth for special occasions where for example you might be photographed and are sensitive about a gappy grin. Its not a fast process to make one.
4.0 out of 5 stars It was easy to use .
I normally use the dental packs you get at a chemist which can be messy but was interested in trying this one. You do need to read the instructions carefully otherwise it’s very easy to go wrong.. the results were good although I didn’t think it would go from a colourless gel to white and a sort of temp replacement tooth.
