4.0 out of 5 stars This seems to work !
A bit expensive but you don’t need much, and it is organic…..Bought to kill gooseberry sawfly larvae 🐛 on the leaves, & pupae in the soil, & it seems to work.It doesn’t appear to kill slugs though.Advise careful following of the instructions, which are on the BACK of the bottle label.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked very well on my roses with saw fly on them x
Very effective killed the sawfly lava and caterpillars of sawfly ,all gone next day and still good a week later
2.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t get rid of tiny fungus flys.
This product was recommended to me by a friend, to get rid of the tiny black flies that come out of my house plant pots. It worked for her but I followed the instructions to the letter and it made no difference to the fly quantity in my plant pots. It was a bit of a faff to dilute the chemical and then to spray it from an atomiser / sprayer. I have since found that a combo of yellow sticky things ( which look awful but do catch the flies) and an ordinary aerosol can of household fly spray, sprayed once a day for a few days, does do the job and ( fingers crossed) seems to have eradicated them.
4.0 out of 5 stars insecticide
This is a review of 'Neudorff BugFree Spruzit Bug and Larvae Killer Concentrate, 250ml - Liquid Bug Killer & Larvae Killer, Pyrethrum Insecticide, Insecticidal Concentrate, Pyrethrin–Based Insecticide, Aphid Killer'.This is an insecticide concentrate that is to be diluted for use. I got this to try on some thrips in my houseplants and it seems to be at least partly effective. The thrips lifecycle is difficult to deal with and usually requires a few products but this seems to have done the insecticide spray part quite well, it's been a week since I've seen thrips so I'm quite happy with this.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does the trick on household plants
This seems to do the trick on my household plants. Very easy to use, although very toxic at the same time, so I'd strongly recommend not using around edible plants fruits and vegetables. However for every day plants, it does work, and I have hardly any fruit flys now so it's done its job. I'd recommend it
3.0 out of 5 stars Not as effective as some
I normally use Rose Clear on my flowering plants, but thought I would give something a little more eco-friendly. Sadly, it just isn't as effective, and there are a few warning signs in the small print (which is so small I needed my son to read it to me!) There are so many caveats with this product it is hard to tell when, how and how much to use, and for my really delicate plants, it just isn't worth the risk. Likewise, there is no mention of using with vegetables, the main reason, apart from my roses, that I need a good insecticide. I didn't dare use it on edibles, and so 50% of the reason for buying was negated.I did use it on my more robust roses, and saw no discernible reduction in pests. Also, I was worried about natural aphid killers, such as ladybirds, so I stopped using it.Overall, it is okay, and works to a point, but not for me long term I'm afraid.
1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Performance - Neudorff BugFree Spruzit Bug and Larvae Killer*
I recently used the Neudorff BugFree Spruzit Bug and Larvae Killer Concentrate, expecting effective pest control given its pyrethrin-based formulation. Unfortunately, the results were underwhelming.Firstly, the effectiveness of this insecticide was lacking. Despite applying it as directed, I noticed little to no reduction in the bug and larvae population on my plants. The product did not seem to work as well as other insecticides I’ve used in the past, leaving me frustrated with its performance.Additionally, the concentrate’s mixing instructions were not as clear as they could be. I struggled to achieve the right dilution, which made the application process more difficult and time-consuming. This lack of clarity affected the overall user experience. The price of the Neudorff BugFree Spruzit is also quite high for a relatively small bottle. Given the minimal results I experienced, it feels like the product does not provide good value for money. There are more effective and cost-efficient options available that offer better pest control performance.Overall, the Neudorff BugFree Spruzit Bug and Larvae Killer Concentrate did not meet my expectations. Its limited effectiveness, confusing mixing instructions, and high price make it a product I would not recommend for effective pest management.
4.0 out of 5 stars Has limitations
This organic insecticide from Neudorff specifically states that ornamental crops grown in protected situations. There is no mention of use on vegetables/fruit, so whilst it doesn’t specifically state that it shouldn’t be used on these, I personally wouldn’t risk it, particularly as the main ingredients are rapeseed oil and pyrethrins, the latter of which can make humans ill. That’s a pity because it is my vegetable crops rather than flowers that suffer most from the attention of unwanted bugs. There is also a warning that you should avoid getting the spray on open flowers and that it may damage the foliage on certain types of flowering plants. This further restricts its potential use.The instructions on the bottle are printed in a ridiculously small font and I needed a magnifying glass to be able to read them. Perhaps the manufacturers should consider printing a QR Code on the label, which would take users to instruction online. The bottle has a clever measuring/dispensing device – you squeeze the bottle and the contents come up through a central spout into a marked outer measuring container. This works well although I’m not sure how good it will be as you get towards the bottom of the bottle.Unlike a systemic pesticide, the effectiveness of this spray relies on the oil/ pyrethrin mix making contact with and coating the pests. How long a 250ml bottle will last depends on the nature of pest that you are tackling as recommended dilution rates range from 10ml to 20ml per litre.Currently selling at just under ten pounds this bug control represents reasonable value in my opinion. However, given its limitations I would probably stick to my own organic solution of Neem oil mixed with horticultural soap.
