Went for the 36W strips, cool white coming from ancient fluorescents.Crikey - what a difference!These strips are bright!They come with short input cables for connecting to a supply and daisy chain cables in case you want to run them in series all joined together.Very light weight and easy to fix onto timbers with the included brackets.Six is more than enough in the equivalent to a double garage.I've split mine so only two come on (sensor swithes them on) for when i just go to the front of the garage to the driers, shelves, washing machine and the rest on a manual when i go in deeper or do work at the bench.If you want only general lighting in there three would easily do but you'd get shadows. For a working garage with bench two above the bench makes it like daylight!Can't speak for longevity as they've only been in a week.

I have been considering replacement of the single, standard tungsten (40W), light bulb with LED bar(s) for some time but, not knowing how many I would need caused hesitation. I was then offered this pack of 6 for review.First thing to say is that they are very bright and illuminate quite a big area. The overall construction seems reasonable but I did find that a loose screw in the end cap of one of the 6 bars which caused loss of continuous earth to the next and subsequent bars. This issue was quite easily fixed by tightening the tiny screw in the problem end cap however, I think the design is far from optimum as relying on this screw to stay tight in soft aluminium and connect with the earth contact in the unit is a weak point (and potentially dangerous).As always, with mains electricity operated products, if you are not fully competent in working with electricity and/or do not have the necessary test equipment to test whilst products are unpowered (a simple multimeter with reliable ‘continuity’ function will suffice in this case), I strongly recommend installation by a recognised electrician.That said, having resolved the issue, I decided to test fit just one of light bars by hanging loosely in the desired loft location and supplying power through my safe test block. I was impressed by the light output. Considering this was just one light bar (I intend to install 2/3 eventually in the loft) some illumination was provided throughout the space.The rated output of each bar is 36W and found this to be quite accurate (according to my socket power meter). I did not like the very short input tails (about 5.5” – 14cm overall if you exclude 1cm of plug that goes into to unit); I think a more generous length could be supplied.For 6 units and inclusive link wiring/plugs and fixing brackets, I think this product represents good value if proper safety measures are taken prior to/during installation and that they continue to shine as brightly as in my test.

The light output of over 4200 lumens is more than sufficient for my needs, and the 36W low power consumption is a bonus, helping me save on electricity bills.One of the standout features is the ability to link up to 6 lights together. This was particularly useful in my larger workshop area, allowing for a continuous line of bright light without the need for multiple power sources.The installation process was straightforward. The included clips made mounting the lights to the ceiling a breeze, and the hardwiring was simple enough to handle. The seamless connectors and connecting cables provided in the pack were handy for linking the lights.The wide application range of these lights is another plus. I can see them being just as effective in other spaces like lofts, basements, warehouses, and even office settings.
