5.0 out of 5 stars Great magnetic rings
Package arrived safely and on time it was well packaged. The Rings are incredible strength and will fit my project
1.0 out of 5 stars Broke within 5 minutes?
Magnet broke as soon as it fell on the floor...never seen a magnet break before (especially so easily??)
5.0 out of 5 stars A simple twin pack of doughnut shaped magnets
I ordered these ring neodymium magnets for a specific use. Being a ring shaped magnet, they are the easiest shape to tie a string, or loop around. This makes them much better than bar magnets to attach things to and not risk the possibility of them coming loose or unattached. So the use? for me I wanted a magnet that I could dangle into locations I could not reach in order to pickup tools, fixings and metallic items that frequently get lost or slip down where I can't retrieve them. These powerful magnets are just ideal for this setup and I've photographed the simple attachment of a ribbon.I really like neodymium magnets for their power and strength. The one thing to note is that they can break easily. Dropping them on a hard surface, allowing them to snap together and other rough handling can make them snap in half and they will be useless. They have so many uses and I'm really glad to finally have some ring magnets for this particular application
4.0 out of 5 stars Very strong but also brittle - handle with care
The media could not be loaded. Supplied in a small cardboard box with protective bubble wrap, this pair of neodymium disc magnets are mighty powerful for their size. Measuring 24.5mm outside diameter, 16mm inside diameter and 4.7mm thick, these are ideal for projects or just any application when you need a powerful magnet. They have a polished finish, are hard and appear to be metal, but be careful as they are quite brittle and will easily break (as I discovered when they jumped towards each other). As you can see from my video these will attract to each other through a 3.3cm thick box! Just keep them away from credit cards and anything sensitive to magnetic fields. Oh and remember they are not metal, they are brittle and will easily chip, fracture or break.
5.0 out of 5 stars Super strong Neodymium Magnets ( not for Kids)
I was very surprised at how strong these Neodymium magnets are, they really do take an effort to part, I would not give to children as they could quite easily get skin trapped between the magnets, other than that they will be really useful on my model railway
3.0 out of 5 stars Strong magnets but fragile
When I receive the magnets they were nicely parceled and bubble wrapped. However, I noticed what looked like a couple of hairline crack in one of the magnets. I did not give the matter a second thought.I used a piece of doweling of which the diameter was slightly smaller than the central hole in the magnets. I was going to demonstrate to my grandsons how like poles repel and show that with the doweling in a vertical position with one magnet at the bottom the other can be made to float above it.I tried it once with success, then lifted the second magnet off and put it over again, where upon the second magnet simply broke into two! The two halves now repelled one another. The magnets had been treated with care and had not been dropped, So the disintegration took me by surprise. I was probably unfortunate in receiving one with barely visible cracks. If you buy the magnets do check for any hairline cracks as these may lead to the magnet breaking up.Apart from my experience these magnets can be very practical and handy and great fun. The remaining magnet will not be wasted as I will tie a cord to it and it can be used by my wife for when she is doing Needlework. Now and again she loses a pin or needle and by hovering the magnet over the area where it went missing, with a prayer it should pick the pin or needle up!
1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish, straight in the bin for these.
These magnets were quite powerful, however the metal they were made out of was extremely brittle and they broke within 10 minutes of opening the packet to try them out. When they cost nearly £10 just for two this is simply not good enough. Not a product I can recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best
'The neodymium atom can have a large magnetic dipole moment because it has 4 unpaired electrons in its electron structure as opposed to (on average) 3 in iron'and you can really tell. these are brilliant unpowered magnets, it took a fair bit of effort to seperate them from each other.Even if you don't have an immediate use for them, they're worth owning.Neodymium are the strongest unpowered magnets in the world and loose only 5% of their magnetism every 100 years.
