What a lovely lock! This weighs in at 490 grams which is just over 1 pound . It’s chunky and looks and feels very purposeful. Most of the lock is a U shaped solid brass part with drillings for the lock itself and the securing pin.When you put one of the 5 keys in the lock, they fit in easily and turn the lock without hesitation. When you pull out the securing pin you find that it is tethered, by which I mean that it doesn’t fully come out . It has a little ball bearing in the end that secures the pin in the “out” position enabling you to manipulate the lock without the pin dropping back down. There is a lubricating hole to ensure the the sliding pin can always move freely.Without destructively testing the lock I cannot say how secure it would be against a serious thief, but the external fit and feel of the lock makes me think it would be above average.If you are looking for a lock which does the job, and also looks as if it will do the job, and acts as a visual deterrent, then this is the one for you. It is a chunky and effective lock.

This padlock is excellent for locking my shed and protecting it against anyone who dares try to break the lock.This product is well made, durable, durable, easy to use, comes with lots of keys, great investment and I highly recommend it.

First impressions - it feels a decent heavy weight and chunky size.Comes with several keys - recently clean cut because they still have sharp edges.The keys look like a good permutation of cut depth - suggesting its not a cheap mechanism.It has a strange lock-in mechanism - I wont go into that here because I dont know how strong/weak that mechanism is - its one of those items where you dont know how good it is until someone tries to break into it.I like the fact that the bolt doesnt fall fully out when unlocked - it opens fully but the bolt end stays in the body which means its less fiddly trying to refit the bolt when locking.It does feel secure and solid.Even when locked the bolt still rotates - so thats a positive barrier if someone tries to saw the bolt - it will just spin.I cant comment on the anti-drill or anti-pick but time will tell.

This is a review for Maudex® MBX/70 Solid Brass Heavy Duty Lock for Outdoor Use with 5 Keys - [Anti Pick, Anti Drill Cylinder] - Ideal Storage Unit and Shipping Container LockFirst off, I did not test the pickability of this lock. I am assuming that given sufficient time, and the right tools, it can be defeated. The main purpose, is to deter those who aren't prepared for it, out of whatever you are locking. I do own the tools that could pick this lock, but I am too lazy at the moment to test it. If I ever do however, I will update this review.This lock is a beefy, hefty lock. If you threw it at somebody you could hurt them, and it would probably go though a car window. The design of the body and shackle make it difficult to jam a strong enough lever or bar into it and break it open. Its design and beefy status may make it difficult or impossible to attach to some storage units, so double check whether or not it will work. Also, I am not sure how well it will handle being out in the weather, as there is no protective coating or lamination on the lock.The first time I attempted to put the key into the lock, it resisted my attempt. I did have to fiddle with it somewhat, to get the key inside, but once I did, all subsequent insertions worked well. I am assuming the tumblers weren't lined up properly with the key at first.Overall, this lock does as it is supposed to if, if it will fit.
