The bug zapper is a good size, yet not too big a to be a storage issue.The cable is quite shot, which limits where I can put it without and extension lead.When turned on the light comes on and it has a blue glow to it. Its works well when a. fly goes into it, and zaps them. The bugs then collect in the tray at the bottom, and the tray can be removed and emptied.Good to put on the evening when the bugs swarm in through the open windows when the lights are on.

Our garden backs onto the local lawn bowling club green so we tend to get a lot of flying critters during the summer months and despite having a fly curtain over the back door the annoying pests still find their way in through open windows so we were keen to give this bug zapper a try.It’s very light and I was concerned that, with the cable entry being near the top, it wouldn’t be very stable, especially around our cats, but I left it on the kitchen windowsill (a favourite cat hang-out) plugged in, but turned off overnight and it was still there in the morning. Leaving it running during the day resulted in a few zapped insects so it definitely appears to work.Emptying it is a little fiddly; there is a hatch at the bottom, but it’s not really a tray and you have to tilt the hatch to remove it, so it’s best opened over a bin to catch any dead insects that fall out. That makes it a minor pain if your bin isn’t close to the plug socket as you have to unplug it every time you want to empty it and to my mind at least, it should have a removable tray rather than hatch. For that reason I’m giving it four stars.

Pros:This bug zapper has really been phenomenal in clearing out the flying insects. The thing really does work, and it makes a difference in reducing those pesky little bugs.It has a nice on/off switch; it's so easy to switch on or off, simple, convenient control.Whether I use it indoors in my bedroom or outside in the garden, it adapts perfectly to both. One tool working in multiple settings is just great.It's been a godsend for those scorching summer evenings in the garden. I can sit out there without the threat of those pesky mosquitoes and bugs bothering me.Verdict:I'm pretty satisfied with this fly zapper. The gadget is really helpful and works well in keeping all flying insects at bay. It has easy usage with quiet operations, making it rather perfect for use both indoors and outdoors. If you want to enjoy the outdoors better and free from these annoying little creatures, this zapper is what you need to have, especially on warm nights.

We have recently invested in other bug zapper devices for downstairs but wanted a smaller unit for the bedroom to solve nighttime feeding issues from those pesky biting insects. Having a rather large garden, we have to make a choice every summer; either bake ourselves to death, or relent and open the windows giving an open invitation to our local flying wildlife. This is a solution I should have chosen a long time ago.The unit is mains powered with a relatively short power cable, given that you want to keep this as high as possible to capture flying insects. It comes with a fitted 3 pin fused plug which of cause can be cut off and extended if done properly and suitable flex is used. The light is more of a white than our other units and surprisingly bright in comparison, so this isn’t suitable for keeping switched on during the night where you sleep. We decided to put this on a remote socket and have it turn on and off at set intervals.The trap area is a good size for a compact unit and has two bars providing the light wavelength to lure those pesky flying critters, and it does a good job at achieving that. I haven’t noticed the usual faint zap noise from this unit as I have from the others, but I know this is working as the little deposits box at the bottom has the remains of the little critters. The collection box is rather fiddly to unclip and is more of a removable tray than a box.These really have transformed our home and summer experience. The odd fly and moth evades the trap on occasion but eventually curiosity gets the better of them. There is certainly a notable difference whilst using this so we are happy with what this bug zapper achieves. There is room for design improvements though.

So in the box you get the main unit this is mains powered , and you get the instructions and a little brush ( for cleaning dead bugs off the unit and cap at the bottom )The zapper is made primarily of plastic, it sits quite tall , and has a plastic handle that folds out from the top so it can be hung up if required , but it can just sit on its base .At the top on the side area is the main switch , this turn's on the UV and zapper is live .At the bottom you have a cap which can be opened to clear out the pesky bugs that have passed away .Couple of thoughts , it looks good and seems to be effective with my limited testing , (not many mosquitoes about at the moment !)As this is mains powered it is powerful , but obviously you need a socket nearby as the lead is not that long., and to be used outside , you will probably need an extension leadWith the summer coming (Hopefully! ) , it should be useful to keep your house flying bug free !For the price it is pretty good value , and seems to work

We live in the UK in a house with three floors. Our living quarters are on the middle floor and, during the summer months, we keep the window open as long as we can. We keep the lights turned off for coolness and turn on this bug zapper, which illuminates and attracts the flies and moths. They are zapped with a spit or click instantly and it is very effective. The only bad point is that the power cord isn’t very long. Easily emptied and cleaned with a brush that it came with. I would highly recommend this item.
