5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
Like many other people we wanted something to provide a bit of security while away from home (even though the house is never empty) and that didn't require a subscription. It's fully featured and the day/night mode is clear, audio is great and it's not oversized. Connection was straight forward, alerts can be set up as well as zoning so it will only activate if a certain threshold is crossed. Depending on how much you keep logging into the camera and viewing footage (SD card bought separately) also how many times it's activated will vary on battery life. Ours is lasting 3 months then we pop it on a quick charger and it's good to go in a couple of hours. There is an optional subscription if you want your footage sending to the cloud servers but an SD card has been fine for us.Should the camera lose connection to your WiFi you'll know as the ring that turns blue on it being triggered will be flashing red. Also this comes with it's own little wireless chime. It's just the right volume eg not overpowering or hard to hear (too low)
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Blink
I tried setting up the Blink device last week and was disappointed in a number of areas. The Blink took absolutely ages before it would connect to my phone and tell me someone was at the door, it didnt come with a ringer which needed to be purchased separately, it needed lithium batteries that needed to be replaced every few weeks, you couldn't point the camera in any direction, it didn't work with Google Home, and it was more expensive. So this device especially at the £49 currently is a bit of a bargain. It seems to instantly send notifications, the in house ringer is loud and despite two horrific ringer sounds, has a nice couple of default ding/dong type tones.I like that the device can be removed from the door for charging, but that does mean its probably easy to pinch (although you would hope the chance of being caught on camera would discourage anyone). It has a built in battery so it just needs to be plugged into a USB C port charger - and the app tells you how the battery is doing. The picture and live view both day and night are brilliant - and the speed to get to a live view is very fast. It has an SD slot to store clips but can also replicate those into the cloud. The cloud storage is free for short clips but a few quid a month if you want them stored longer.Very good mechanism as well to target alarms on activity only in particular parts of the screen. Doesn't work for me as I'm on a terraced house, but for those with drives/gardens then that is a brilliant way to highlight which portion of what the camera can see, you want to record and alert on for security.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great video doorbell
I bought this video doorbell over a Ring one because I didn't want to pay a subscription as ring does, plus I can use a sd card in the doorbell instead which is much better and don't need a subscription or use the cloud part. The good reviews really helped me make my decision as this is what I base any purchase on Bolo.Having seen my parents ring doorbell against this one the field of view is slightly less than the Ring but not by much at all. It picks up movement great and I'm only using it on level 3 or default values. The doorbell is located in a enclosed landing my flat is on so wouldn't be picking up anything from outside. I have the image quality set to auto which is very clear but even on sd quality it's good (this would save battery power). The only drawback would be how long the battery lasts. I've only y had it one day so cannot comment to much on this yet. I do have it set to power saving mode and collect 10 seconds of video at a time which is just about sufficient for now but I may increase this. The connection to the WiFi is strong.I have inserted a 16gb sd card I had laying about and after the doorbell has formatted it, this hasn't been used much atall. The Morecam app once downloaded is easy to set the doorbell up with and pair with the doorchime. I would say the app is not difficult to navigate but could be refined in places but there lots of options to select. So far I haven't been able to have notifications of movement pop up on my phone when I don't have the app open (but in contact with the customer service) but when I have the app open I get notifications of movement ok. The notification of the doorbell being pressed comes up good. It's obviously larger than a ring doorbell because it has the internal battery but still not huge.I went with the J10 adjustable version over the fixed one which is much better to get the exact angle I needed for my purposes. The customer service is extremely good and can be contacted via WhatsApp which is how I prefer and get good quick replies to anything. All in all I'm very impressed with this doorbell and pleased I bought it.EDIT.. I can get the notifications now after reinstalling the app and using Cloudedge for the capture. The battery is still going strong at 62% and hasn't be recharged yet at 2 weeks in. As it's enclosed porch it doesn't get much outside movement as I stated before do helps with the battery life. But I'm very pleased.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic camera for the budget
The camera is amazing. I have used a few products of such, and this one is what I could say a very well done, budget friendly option. The sound quality is nice and is mostly clear, and is quite sensitive which is nice, because it's aware about pretty much anything around it. The connectivity is great and U have no issues with it at all. I use a 5G Broadband from Three and it's around 20 meters between them and two walls and I have never had any signal drops or anything. It's a really good security product as the camera is working well, on both day and night due to the infrared night vision, the local storage and the cloud storage are amazing to store any kind of images or videos. Even more, the product is quite easy to use, even to connect it to the wi-fi. Just make sure to choose the security camera product, not the battery charged one. Overall, the product is super great.
Great camera!
I've had the camera for several days & it works great! I love that it detects people & not just motion. The 2 way audio works well too. The picture quality is good for both day & night vision. Overall great quality for the price! Super easy to setup & use right out of the box too! I'm going to add the SD card for storage, but the still shots taken when there's motion detected all have stayed in my history also.
Great doorbell camera!!
Easy set up, clear images, uses a micro SD card, app user friendly, excellent customer support replies to emails less than 24 hours, tech support included. Wireless chime so you can place anywhere in home, sends alerts when motion detection activated. I am very satisfied for the price and quality of this camera. Easy mount on my apartment door with adhesive sticker included since I can't use screws and anchors also included to mount bracket. Tool included to remove the camera from bracket for easy charging, Full battery last a long time. Rings when visitors press button so you can answer, see the person and speak to them. Overall great also connects to Google home and link with Alexa.
Great doorbell cam, No subscription necessary
I have had this XTU doorbell camera for over a month now. I purchased it because there was not a need for a monthly subscription fee and I can still tap into it live, get alerts when there is motion detected and talk through it from my phone. You can access recordings of events also as long as you have or purchase an SD card separately. If you want cloud storage you of course need to pay for that monthly, but I didn't need that feature. The alerts are customizable and you can also change the mounting angle on the bracket for better positioning and lock it into place. The video quality and battery life are awesome and the app is easy to use!
Very good camera for the price
I recently bought this doorbell cam and I'm very impressed with it, especially for the price point. It was quite easy to install. I wasn't sure how well the sticker would work since those things are usually 50/50 on how good they are so I used the screws to attach the camera to my house. Didn't take long at all & then I set the camera angle how I wanted it, also super easy. I finished charging the camera before attaching it permanently & it didn't take too long actually. The camera was over 80% charged when it arrived so it took under an hour to reach 100%.I tested it out a few different ways to make sure the motion detection was spot on and it was. That evening, when it got dark, I made sure to check the camera's feed and it's super crisp and clear. I can even see clearly to where my car's parked so that's great. You can see someone pretty clearly in night vision. I did have to adjust the motion sensor settings in the app to help remove false notifications but that didn't take long and it'll also save some battery life. Now, onto the battery life. I can't speak for how long I will have before it needs recharging as I've only owned the camera for 4 days as of this review but in that 4 days it's still at 70% charge.I'm not going with the paid subscription option but I did install a micro SD card into the camera and that connected easily. You have to format the card first though- just a head's up for you.All in all, this is a well built camera, it has the settings I need and best of all, no subscription required to have the good features, unlike other camera doorbells and security systems.
