This is an excellent lens, It came very well packaged and presented. First impressions are very good, The lens seems well made, Good quality and fits my camera perfectly. The auto focus works very well....I was actually quite surprised how well it worked for the price! I'm very impressed with it and would definitely recommend to others.

I’ll set the scene by saying that this is a fantastic lens which gives superb results for portraiture and it is amazingly good value for money. Basically it is an uncluttered lens for portraiture on an APS-C camera with really elegant looks which complement Fuji cameras. It is surprisingly light and compact and it feels and looks to be of very good quality.The widest aperture of F1.8 is more than adequate for my needs and is better than other Fuji lenses I have.Others might not feel the same as me, but I particularly like autofocus in a lens rather than manual focus. This 56mm lens has it and is a huge plus point for me. For those that prefer manual focus, it does have a very smooth focus control ring.The TTArtisans 56mm does not have an aperture control ring on the barrel but you can use the front command dial on my cameras to adjust the aperture which ranges from f1.8 to f16.Physically it looks sturdy and robust with metal fittings to attach to the camera. The squashed lens hood that comes with this lens gives the whole lens a very futuristic look. The bottom lens cap has a built in USB C port for firmware upgrades. The lens comes with a variety of accessories which can be seen in the photos.Having used the lens I found the results to be bright and sharp. The autofocus is very responsive with no lags that I could determine and the eye focus mode works fine. I don’t usually make prints greater than A4. The results I got from this lens were very pleasing. For the sort of amateur photography that I do, this lens more than meets my needs. I like it very much.

PROS-a great little lens on my XT3-gives an 84mm full-frame equivalent field of view, which is what many consider the ideal portrait length-autofocus is (mostly) accurate, if not overly quick-pleasing bokeh-quite sharp (for such an inexpensive lens), not as sharp at marque lenses, but not too far off-feels great in the hand-focus ring very smooth-mostly metal construction-USB-C port for firmware updates-very little focus breathing-a very reasonable price, far less than the marque lens sells forCONS-no aperture ring (aperture must be set in camera)-can’t attach lens cap when the lens hood is in place-autofocus isn’t always accurate: it hunts sometimes, and isn’t as snappy as marque lenses (it’s fine for non-moving portrait subjects, which it was likely built for)-autofocus when shooting video isn’t great: there are noticeable steps in its focusing motion. The focal length and wide aperture are great for creating beautiful portraits with a flattering background blur. It lets me focus on my subject while creating a dreamy, out-of-focus background. This lens is incredibly sharp, even wide open. I can capture all the details in my photos, from crisp eyelashes to intricate backgrounds. Thanks to the f/1.8 aperture, this lens lets in a lot of light. This is fantastic for taking photos in low-light situations without needing a flash. The autofocus is fast and quiet making it easy to capture sharp images even with moving subjects. This lens is surprisingly small and light, making it ideal for carrying around all day. Using this lens has significantly improved my photography, especially for portraits.

In my questionable opinion lenses have not got any better since the 1960's. What has happened and is clear with this lens is that the cost of a great lens is now affordable to normal people.This is a really great lens, it makes it very easy to get good images.As soon as I got it out of the box I knew it was quality equipment. it came with a few nice extras for cleaning that I was not expecting, I do not need them but if you do not have them they are great.I have used it extensively today, although it has been overcast and has rained a lot. (I have not seen the sun). The results were excellent in low light and with flash. It was easy to use and worked seamlessly right down to its minimum distance.It is not an all rounder so if you are a beginner have a think about it before buying. For those of you who know that you want it, I can highly recommend it.
