5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to know who caught your fish
These aren't cheap - just over three quid a tin at the moment - but they are high quality for tinned tuna.I particularly like the code that enables you to find out just what boat caught them.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very tasteful
The Fish 4 Ever - 15x 160g Skipjack Tuna Chunks In Organic Tomato Sauce. The tins of tuna come in a branded box and each tin has a ring pull opening. When you open a tin you can really smell the tuna and the tomato sause is also very strong smelling. You need to empty the tin in a dish to really mix the 2 together. I have been having the tuna with wraps and salads and have really enjoyed it, it is different from what we would normally buy but it is a nice change. The tomato sauce is organic and that could be why it's so strong in smell and flavour, the tuna is line caught.I have really enjoyed the tuna in tomato sauce, but I do think it is very expensive
5.0 out of 5 stars Organic products
I really liked these tuna chunks in tomato sauce that I just tried. I like to serve it with crackers and crack some pepper on top to make it look nice. It's the best high-protein snack you'll ever find if you like salmon. If you cut back on the mayo, it's a good choice that will keep you full. This is a great way to get good protein. The tomato and extra virgin olive oil are both organic, and the tuna is caught using pole and line, which is a sustainable method. Together, these things make this product stand out. The price of about £3 per can is a bit high, but I can see why it's that way. There are 15 cans in the package. Each one has a ring pull and 160g of product inside. I think the price is fair when you look at how ethical the company is and how good the products are.
4.0 out of 5 stars My partner has been enjoying these in salads and pasta.
The fact that these are sustainably fished Tuna makes them even tastier to my partner, it is very cool when you know that the fish you are eating have not been overfished, with the price working out as just over £3 a tin I personally feel these are very good value for money, there is a little more oil than expected but with the tomato it has not overpowered either the salad or pasta meals I've prepared for my partner. We have always preferred to shop organically or free range so this fits into our own shopping ethos and although others might feel this is overpriced I honestly am very happy to keep buying these for my partner to enjoy with a clear conscience and a wonderful taste.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favourite - really quite oily
Going into this, I do have to admit that I am generally more of a fan of the tuna in spring water or brine and rarely if ever go over the oil or tomato sauce options. For the purpose of this review though, I went beyond my usual options. These cans are slightly larger than some you will find elsewhere at 160g, note though that weight isn't all tuna as we'll come back to. The cans themselves are easy to open thanks to including a solid enough ring pull that delivered on all the attempts I made.In terms of contents, there is quite a lot of oil as well of the tomato sauce in each can to the point where I would estimate that around 2/3 of each is tuna. While that leads to a richer tomato flavour, the inclusion of oil isn't really to my taste and changes the health benefits of the can quite considerably.Overall then, if tuna in oil and tomato sauce are you things then this might be a good option, though for me I think I'll just stick with the classics.
5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious and wholesome
Enjoying this tuna in tomato sauce has been a pleasant culinary experience. The combination of high-quality skipjack tuna and organic tomato sauce creates a delicious and wholesome meal option. Knowing that it is sustainably fished and supports small local boats adds to the appeal. The ability to track and trace the product's journey provides transparency and assurance of its quality. It's a versatile ingredient, perfect for sandwiches or as a topping for rice.
4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but pricey
This is an interesting buy, it gives you the chance to actually track where your tuna was line caught, a nice idea but if this is adding to the large price tag I feel it’s unnecessary. The tuna itself is lovely and ‘meaty’, you can taste the difference in the quality. I am a little sad that there is so much oil as it’s unsuitable for sandwiches if you ask me but very nice in a salad or with pasta. The rings open the cans everytime and the product tastes great and is quality. If you can stomach the price tag I would recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Multipack Of Tuna & Tomato Sauce – Strong Mediterranean Flavour, But High Quality Ingredients
This multipack of tuna with tomato sauce arrived in a branded cardboard box. The pack contains 15 cans and each ring pull open tin holds 160g of product. The unique selling point of this product, is that the tomato and extra virgin olive oil are both organic and the tuna is caught via pole and line which is a more sustainable practice. The skipjack tuna is delivered as chunks in the organic tomato sauce which definitely feels more premium to a standard tin of tuna, and the only way I can compare it is like the difference between farmed smoked salmon and wild Atlantic caught salmon. It is a little salty and I would say it is quite mediterranean in its flavour profile, rather than the standard tuna you get in the UK which is much milder. The tuna is best served with salad and rice for a quick nutritious meal which is also high in omega 3 so also has health benefits too. I would describe the flavours as bold and strong but the ingredients are evidently high quality with a good texture. There is also the ability to trace the catch back to the boat by entering the code on the base of each tin into the Fish4Ever website and the tuna tins are also locally packed where possible. Priced at £47.25 at the time of reviewing, this works out at £3.15 per tin which isn’t cheap, but when you consider the ethics of the company and quality of the ingredients, I do think the cost is worth it.
