5.0 out of 5 stars Great device that worked brilliantly
Really easy install, only took half an hour. Worked straight away with my cheap no name android head unit. I downloaded DAB-Z from Google Play Store as I'm not a fan of installing random apps. It worked brilliantly. I'm really pleased!
4.0 out of 5 stars DAB+ usb adapter perfect for android stereos
This USB DAB+ adapter is perfect for android car stereos and comes with a glass mount aerial. It works as soon as you plug in and spin up the relevant DAB app without the need for any confusing or difficult installation requirements. The aerial cable is long enough to be mounted correctly in the majority of cars (front passenger windscreen is quite normal).
4.0 out of 5 stars Not just for the car
The package consists of a metal-cased USB DAB receiver and an adhesive-backed active antenna to stick to a part of your windscreen that doesn't interfere with the driver's view, such as the top passenger-side corner where the wipers often don't reach, with the copper strip portion under the side trim and in contact with the bodywork and the clear portion stuck to the glass. It's got a 3 metre antenna lead which needs to reach all the way around to the receiver module, but if it's not long enough the best option would be to use a USB-A extension cable to relocate the receiver away from the head unit.Although this DAB module is designed for use with Android-based in car entertainment units, that's not all it'll work on. It will also work on Android-based set-top boxes at home. The screenshot shows the module working using the DAB-Z app (in fact a slightly older 1.9.127 version so as to work on Android 5.1) sideloaded onto a first generation Bolo Fire TV. Apart from an initial hiccup where a mouse is required to click past the changelog the first time it's run, it works perfectly well using the standard remote control, giving crystal clear digital radio with the supplied antenna simply stuck to the wall behind the TV.But why four stars and not five, if it's so good? That's simple. The instructions tell you to install an APK (Android application PacKage) to connect to the receiver, but do not tell you where to get that APK from. You're left to go find an APK that might work, run it through VirusTotal to ensure it's clean, then install it and hope it's compatible. It's easy to put a QR code on the instructions and the listing taking you to a list of compatible apps, they'd have five stars if this was the case.
4.0 out of 5 stars Few issues in setup, otherwise works well
Had a few issues during setup, however this could be due to interference with other sdr dongles I had running, otherwise it works perfectly well
5.0 out of 5 stars DAB-Z is what you need on Android devices to get all your radio channels!
The media could not be loaded. I know there are some apps in beta testing to get this working on your Windows PC just right. So far I have not been able to launch one app, only find a working driver! Here is my short video of it working connected to my Samsung S22 phone via a USB-C to USB-A mini hub adapter. I installed DAB-Z from Google Play and after recognising the receiver and scanning for channels it worked straight away. The deep voices is an anomaly and cleared up soon after an update. I could tell it was running from the SIXWIN Car DAB/DAB+ receiver because if you move the antenna around it will alter the signal path and adjust accordingly.I had to record this video on an old LG G2 handset, sorry if the quality is not what you would expect from a modern smartphone, still sounds alright!Overall, I am pleased with this receiver and I know it works well with car stereos with a little work. However, I am more interested in PC or Android connectivity. Benefits of using with an Android device are that there is a plethora of software options available. As this is my first DAB receiver I can say that it seems like good value as sound quality reproduction was spot on and I still had the antenna in a spool so I so know it will work well indoors and outdoors with the antenna extended or even a different antenna. The range must be good if it is picking up all those stations! And the device did not heat up once for me but my phone did!
5.0 out of 5 stars Workswell
Well built and made to last, functions as it should.Extremely good value for money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works Brilliantly - Super Easy to Set Up
I ordered this USB Dab+ radio adapter to use with my android auto screen - unfortunately it did not work with that as i have no way to install the required DAB Z application. However using a USB C to A converter cable i was able to plug into my android phone, download the required DAB Z app (free) and pick up over 124 DAB stations on my android phone. I then connected my phone via bluetooth to my car stereo and viola i had full DAB radio in my 2013 car!The is a super cheap and neat solution to upgrade older car stereo's to full digital radio!Super happy with this product, works brilliantly, keeps a great signal using the included DAB aerial.
