This is a really good quality, very heavy, medium sized, lidded casserole dish, there is no doubt about it. The photo on the listing is a good likeness so what you see is what you will get.However there is a conflict between the photos on the listing and the wording in the listing. The photos suggest it can be put in a dishwasher, oven and a microwave whilst the listing states it should be handwashed and not placed in an oven in order to preserve the gold plating. It also says it's microwavable on the photo yet the listing states it's made of metal and shouldn't be placed in a microwave - sparks ahoy.Due to this I've been too wary to place it in an oven so I've merely been using it as a serving dish.Unlike the previous reviewer I did not find it difficult to screw the lid to the glass top and nor was my dish dirty. I don't have a dishwasher so wash this by hand and it washes fine.I think if the care instructions were to be sorted out this would be five stars but I'm knocking a star off as I'm too scared to use it. I also don't know what or where the gold plated metal base with space for tealights is either?

The dish comes in tightly wrapped with soft material, which I really appreciate. However, the glass cover has not yet been installed. I have to find a suitable screwdriver to fix the knob, and it is not too easy. I am afraid to break the glass, so I cannot do it with too much strength.The dish itself is sturdy and looks nice. But the bottom part is very dirty. Also, the glass cover is very thin, and I am really worried that it will easily break. You can tell that it is not a fine china, so I consider the current price of 61.89 very, very expensive for me.Since it has gold plating, it is supposed not to be dishwashed, so extra work is needed to handle it.The size of the dish is very good. It is a big dish that is good for the family.
