5.0 out of 5 stars Best keyboard so far
Can't recommend it highly enough. The keys are made from what seems like a high quality material that is very smooth and have depressions. This gives the whole thing a nice feel. The action of the keys is again very good. I've tried the Logitech K860 (which stopped working after a few years) and various others since then in a quest for the perfect keyboard and this is probably it.The only gripe is that I would have liked status lights for shift lock and num lock in the triangular bit in the middle. But that, of course, is not a serious setback.
4.0 out of 5 stars A Comfortable and Ergonomic Keyboard
The split design and curved keyframes make it much more comfortable to type on than my old keyboard. I've noticed a significant reduction in wrist strain, and I can type for longer periods without getting tired. The backlit keyboard is a great feature, especially when I'm working in low light. I love that I can adjust the brightness to suit my needs. The Bluetooth and USB connectivity make it easy to switch between my laptop and desktop. The battery life is good, and I appreciate the sleep mode that helps to conserve power. Overall, I'm very happy with the ProtoArc Ergonomic Keyboard. It's a great investment for anyone who spends a lot of time typing.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great keyboard, nice key feel, backlit, wifi, wired or Bluetooth
Where to start, its a great keyboard, the feel of the keys is lovely, the keyboard offers Wired, Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, its of an ergonomic design with a split keyboard, its supposed to be faster and better for the likes of carpel tunnel.Noteable features are the integrated soft touch wrist rest, the backlighting and front and rear stands underneath the keyboard to raise the front or rear or both from the table/desk.There are multiple brightness settings for the backlighting, you can connect to multiple bluetooth devices too. I tested this on my Mac Studio and split layout aside its pretty similar feel to my Mac Bluetooth keyboard. One thing worth bearing in mind is the size of the unit, its pretty big, its roughly twice the size (or more) on my Mac keyboard. The inclusion of the full size numpad is partially responsible for that extra size but even so its big.The keys themselves are soft touch so if you are looking for that tactile feel this is the keyboard for you. Once you get used to the ergonomic layout you start to get faster at typing, but as somebody who has used computers for over 30 years its tough work switching. At £82.99 (there is a £20 off voucher at the time of review) its certainly not cheap but it does have the high end keyboard feel, and its still cheaper than the mechanical keyboards I have purchased recently. The keyboard has a USB C connection for charging the 2000mAh battery which give good usage time if you disable the backlight. There is also a 60min idle cut off to save power too.If it only had an Apple biometric sensor I'd swap in a flash.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty average ergo keyboard. Very comfortable wrist rest though!
There's nothing particularly special about this ergonomic keyboard. Build quality is pretty good, but the wrist rest is the main thing here - it's super comfortable and feels really durable. The backlight is a nice feature, although not really needed for this type of keyboard in my opinion. No real faults. Keys themselves don't feel too mushy, which is a bonus. The price is pretty high at £90 - there are other better options, but this isn't too unreasonable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for long hours of typing
This ergonomic keyboard has made my typing experience much more comfortable. The split design and cushioned wrist rest help reduce strain during long typing sessions. The backlight is adjustable, which is helpful in different lighting conditions. The wireless connection is stable, and it pairs easily with multiple devices.
5.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming Ergonomic Keyboard
I had high hopes for this ergonomic keyboard, but it fell short in a few areas. The split design and wrist rest are comfortable and the backlighting is a nice feature. However, the typing experience isn’t as smooth as I expected, and the keyboard sometimes feels a bit clunky. The USB-C charging is convenient, but the overall build quality doesn’t feel as premium as I had hoped. It’s a decent choice for those looking for an ergonomic design, but there are certainly better options out there if you’re seeking a more refined typing experience.
4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable keyboard
Very comfortable once you get used to it, it took me a day or two to get the right feel but is definitely more comfortable than regular key boards. The base has the wrist support which is amazing when you type a lot so great for coding as well.Easy to use, just connect and use, very straightforward. Good quality material, so far no performance issues, really like the product
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
This keyboard is sleek and trendy with a real modern look to it.It is so comfortable to use and I love all the additional features, the back light for example. The wrist rest is also super comfortable! The price may seem high but you are paying for the quality which is excellent. You can connect several devices and the power lasts for quite some time, have not yet needed to charge it.It feels and looks very well made, robust and durable.Would recommend.
Very nice ergonomic keyboard
The media could not be loaded. I wasn't very familiar with ergonomic keyboards before this one so I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into. But I do have a trackball from this company ProtoArc and really like it so I thought it would be a good idea to test out their ergonomic keyboard. This keyboard is back-lit, with a white led light, it makes it easier to see the keys in darker environments. This is pretty common on most good keyboards now but still nice that this keyboard has that function. They keyboard had a nice wrist rest that makes it more comfortable to type. It is make so synthetic leather but is pretty nice and somewhat padded. Works well. The ergonomic factor took me a little bit to get used to but the angular keys eventually became easy to press without having to look down at there they were. It isn't like there is a different key layout but with it slightly angled, it does take a little getting used to if you aren't used to it. It is definitely more comfortable typing this way though, which I thoroughly enjoy because some of my work involves a lot of typing.I like that this keyboard has the ability to connect with multiple computers making it a great keyboard if you have multiple computers to control. Having a mouse that has the same functionality is perfect for this scenario. A bonus is that this keyboard also has a lot of media and common function buttons tied to the function keys. You can use the function keys as standard function keys or you can use the special functions that have been assigned to them like screen capture, search, brightness, mute, cut etc.The battery last long enough to not be annoying. It will enter sleep if it isn't being use which is nice. Waking it up though can take a second and it might miss a few of the first keys pressed if you wake it by typing something. The feet on the back provide a nice angle to type at. And having a full keyboard with numpad is great when entering numbers into sheets. One issue I did have with the keyboard though is the caps-lock key wouldn't turn on right away when pressed and then it would turn off after a little. I had a hard time getting it to work properly. It was odd but thankfully I do not use caps-lock, like at all so not a huge deal for meOverall this keyboard is very nice to use and seems well thought out. I enjoy the ergonomic factor and my wrist have never felt this good before when typing, a win-win. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice ergonomic keyboard to help with computer strain.
Clavier ergonomique
J'utilise ce clavier pour mon usage personnel naviguer sur mon PC. Excellent produit, très silencieux et facile d'utilisation. Ce qui est pratique et j'aime également est le rétro-éclairage.
Sleek and stylish ProtoArc keyboard that easily beats Logitech on performance and price
I love this backlit ProtoArc keyboard!Micro-switches are overrated. They are! The entire PCMR has been led to believe that the only keyboard worth a darn is one that has micro-switches and I'm here to tell you that's simply not true. Yes, high performance keyboards for gaming and specialty use see a huge benefit from this technology. But can you get excellent keyboards without? You bet you can - and you've found one right here.Everything about this keyboard screams premium. Plastics are all great quality and beautifully uniform in texture and colour. The keyboard offers angle/tilt adjustments forward and back. I found the integrated wrist rest to be one of the most comfortable I've ever used going back 40+ years (man, I wish the Commodore 64 and VIC 20 had keyboards like this back in the day!) The wrist rest is made with a textured PVC with just the right amount of padding to keep you comfortable but still provide a sturdy base so you can type like a speed demon when you want to. All the keys have a relatively short throw which makes speedy typing a breeze and the force required to actuate every key is a balance made in heaven. The ergonomic layout (combined with a standard layout for the editing and number pad keys) is just plain comfortable. The media control keys placed right between the left/right separated keyboard is a genius design move as it is effortlessly accessible with either hand and the separation of these additional buttons allows control without even having to look down. Seriously, it is a joy to type on this keyboard.Pairing with 2 additional Bluetooth hosts is effortless and this, along with the included dongle allows you to quickly (and I mean QUICKLY) switch between and control 3 different PCs. There are dedicated buttons on the keyboard for each mode. These mode buttons even have white status LEDs to tell you which button you pushed and if you are paired in the case of the Bluetooth modes.Battery life is epic. It's the kind of thing you do every few weeks or even months, even with heavy usage. Both the mouse and keyboard have wide-cable accessible USB C charging ports so you can use your fancy charging cables or even attach magnetic charging dongles if you prefer to go that route. Charging is indicated by a pale red LED on the keyboard located between the F keys. I measured charging power draw at about 1 watt, which is absolutely tiny by any standard. One nitpick I have about this keyboard is the charging LED. It's very dim and kinda hard to see. Given how infrequently charging happens this is obviously a minor nitpick. After testing this keyboard for a few weeks I decided to replace my Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard with this EK01/Plus model and MX Master mouse with a ProtoArc EM01NL. I find it much for comfortable and ergonomic for daily driving than my grossly-overpriced and online-only software-bloated Logitech gear. And the ProtoArc dongles and Bluetooth options just work - every time and all the time.Highly recommended - this is easily my favourite keyboard of all time!
Good, low profile keyboard with a few tradeoffs
I've been using a Microsoft Natural Keyboard for over a decade... and the first thing to say is that adapting to the ProtoArc keyboard is only about figuring out the "extra" keys... and those that are missing compared to the Microsoft product. The ProtoArc keyboard is much flatter, but that didn't take much getting used to in terms of standard key positioning - the alphabetical and numeric keys, back space, carriage return, etc. One thing key that I did find I messed up - and still mess up - is the F5 key; on the ProtoArc keyboard I find I keep hitting F6 instead because where Microsoft divides the keys into ESC, then F1 through F5, and F6 through F12 and Function Lock; ProtoArc has ESC, then F1 through F6, and F7 through F12, then "Home" and "Settings" buttons... so the F5 is about a half key width farther left. I do use F5 ("Refresh") key a fair amount.Unless I missed it, there is no "Calculator" shortcut key, which I like on the Microsoft product. Volume up and down are central on the ProtoArc keyboard, but toward the upper right corner of the main key area with Microsoft. (Note that another reviewer says the ProtoArc keyboard lacks volume buttons, but that's not correct.)I DO like that there's a Settings button that shortcuts to OS settings... which is neat, though I don't imagine most people use that frequently after initial setup. And I do like the backlight option which is turned on/off via a "light bulb" button toward the lower right of the main key area.Tradeoffs that I DON'T like are the apparently lack of indicator lights for Scroll Lock, Fn Lock, and Num Lock! Only the Caps Lock button has an indicator light, where the Microsoft Natural Keyboard has all four lights located centrally.I find it strange that the USB-C charging port (USB-A to -C charging cord included) is ONLY for charging - I don't understand why it can't also be used to communicate with the host PC! As a result, you do have to use the included wireless (Bluetooth) USB-A dongle. Responsiveness does seem to be very good, though.Overall, I like the aesthetic of the yellow key colours... though I find the shape of the space bars casts funny light over the surface of the keys and makes the yellow like slightly transparent and, as a result, like stickers that I find myself wanting to remove. I probably should have gone with the "space gray"... oh well!Overall, recommended... and very good value compared to what has become a very expensive competing product from Microsoft.
Premium Quality, Can connect up to 3 devices, excellent features and rechargeable!
This is a premium quality ergonomic wireless keyboard. You can connect using the USB included receiver or pair up to two other devices through Bluetooth. Here are some features I especially like about thiskeyboard.1- Can wirelessly share between 3 devices/PCs.2- Backlit keyboard has 3 brightness levels.3- Ergonomic key layout feels natural.4- Generous comfortable wrist rest.5- PC and Mac OS compatible.6- 4 adjustable keyboard feet for desired keyboard angle.7- Rechargeable keyboard with included USB-C charging cable.8- OFF/ON switch to conserve battery power.9- Attractive and practical key identification layout and placement.Typing on this keyboard feels natural. The keys have decent travel, and the wrist rest helps to minimize any unnecessary hand movements. I am using this keyboard and sharing with a Windows PC, a Mac Mini, and a laptop. The USB receiver and Bluetooth capability for an additional 2 devices make for simple selection. There are 3 yellow keys on the top right, simply press for USB, or Bluetooth 1 or 2.The backlit option is a nice feature. There is a ‘light bulb icon’ on the key to the left of the Ctrl key. You just toggle the button to select the brightness level or shut it off. The backlit keys stay on if you don’t shut them off however, the keyboard will automatically enter sleep mode after 60 minutes of inactivity to save power. It takes a few hours to charge the keyboard, but the battery can power up the keyboard to months. The keyboard is sturdy and doesn’t flex when typing on it. It feels premium and has 5 rubber feet to keep it secure on a desktop.Another nice feature with this keyboard is the circular group of media buttons in the middle of the keyboard just above the space bars. You don’t have to go looking for these buttons that are often hidden with other keys as with other keyboards. You can skip forward or backwards for video or song selections, or pause and play, and even control the volume up and down. Its super convenient. The Function keys also have some unique options. There are dedicated buttons to copy and paste, change brightness levels, to copy and paste, change brightness levels, add additional desktops or adjust layout, zoom settings, and take a screen shot or snip. There is nothing I don’t like about this keyboard. It is a premium keyboard with a great design and includes excellent features. The wrist rest is executive looking with the soft black synthetic leather. The keys have a concave feel and typing feels comfortable and natural. The connectivity options are great and its easy to pair with any Bluetooth device by just holding down the button for about 3 seconds to put it in pairing mode. One last positive comment: This keyboard comes with a 2-year warranty for peace of mind. Excellent product!
