4.0 out of 5 stars Great!
I ordered a hydration backpack without the bladder, as a lot of the reviews were saying it leaked and wasn't very good quality. I decided to get this bladder separately and I'm glad I did! It's easy to fill and fits in the backpack comfortably without adding too much extra weight. The mouthpiece is easy to use and the dustcap is great for covering it when I'm not drinking. The only issues I would say is it's quite difficult to wash. There might be a knack to it that I haven't figured out yet, but the best way I've found so far is filling it with water and washing up liquid, closing the seal and giving it a good shake before dumping the water back out into the sink. I have to do this a couple more times with just water to make sure all of the washing up liquid is out, and even then I have to go in with a tea towel to make sure all of the water is out afterwards. As well as this, it still has a plasticy taste. I've only used it a couple of times, but even after thorough washing, it's still there. I guess this will go away with time, but due to this, I'd suggest using it a handful of times before a big race!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to stay hydrated
I was a little weary that this hydration bladder, which is my very first one, will be a bit rubbery and smell like so. I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't the case. This is a very well made (no leaks) bladder and all the components are good quality. Easy to fill and to use. We have plenty of water whilst on a hike and I love the fact that I do not have to open my backpack to rehydrate.Fantastic product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very robust water bladder
I'm a keen cyclist and on a days ride I can get through quite a lot of water. The 'JOYHILL TPU Hydration Bladder, 3L Water Bladder for Hiking Backpack BPA' certainly holds a lot of water.Initially there is a slight 'new container' taste that comes through with the water. But I just filled with some warm soapy water and left for a couple of hours and now the taste has gone.Using the bite tube is easy enough, my only complaint would be that after sucking the water tube drains down to the bladder water level meaning you have to suck through air through each time you drink - but to be honest this is a minor complaint.I have the 3l size and I would imagine that this is only useful for cycling or hiking that I use it for. 3 litres is quite a lot for a runner to carry - but maybe some of the long distance guys would know more on that score.I have had no leaks at all so far. The tubing is sectional with a no leak valve if you remove the suck tube.My only concern would be if you packed the bladder empty with the cap screwed closed as the internal edges of the cap are 'keen' and I would worry about whether they could pierce the bladder over time (it arrives with some foam packing to stop this happening which needs removing before first use). However it is not best practise to store the bladder sealed when not completely dry in any case so this should not be an issue.I think £16.99 is a great price for a 3l bladder, it is certainly serving me very well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Hydration Solution for Hiking and running
It changed the way I hiked when I used this water bag. I loved that I could add ice cubes to keep my water cool, and the big 9cm hole made it very easy to fill. It's safe to use all day because the food-grade TPU material doesn't smell or contain BPA. It worked perfectly, even when it was handled roughly, because the new leakproof design with a soft mouthpiece and on-off button did its job perfectly. The long hose and 2L volume made it easy to stay hydrated, and I didn't even have to take my backpack off to drink from it. It lasts a long time, is simple to clean, and worked great on long walks. Overall, a must-have for doing things outside!
4.0 out of 5 stars look good
I have not used it yet. I didn't know how to use or attach my back pack properly .I'd like to get some paper instruction or maker's instruction site. I research YouTube .Now I thought I learned.. looking forward to using it. thanks.
5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight
Lightweight water pouch. Simple to set up and works very well. No plastic taste either. Good quality connections with no leaks. Easy to clean and dry.
Very flexible, lightweight, yet sturdy
Review of 3L hydration bladder from Joyhill The absolute best feature of this bladder is the huge opening that makes it easy to clean. I'm always worried about whether I've cleaned our other bladders well enough, but I feel more confident about cleaning this one. Similarly, the translucent TPU lets me see if there's any dirt in the bladder. I don't know if I like or dislike the shape more than the other hydration bladders we own. I got the 3L size which is tall and narrow. What I do appreciate about the it is that the cylindrical shape along with the well-marked volumes makes it easy to know how much water goes in and how much is drunk. If you don't have a tall backpack, though, you might have to bend the bottle to get it to fit. While we own other water bladders, this is the first one I got for myself and I'm only used to cleaning them, not using them. It took me a minute or so to figure out how to use it. You need to take off the clear cap (that one is obvious), then you have to pull out the whole nozzle. It does have arrows stamped into the sides of it to show how to open and close it, but they were a little hard to see. When drinking water, you really have to bite down with some strength on the silicone (?) piece at the end of the nozzle. Not having used one of these before, it makes me feel like I'm trying to bite through the piece and I worry about biting too hard. Of course, it's a mechanism to make sure that water doesn't leak out, but it will take a bit of getting used to. No complaints. It seems sturdy enough to last a while as long as I'm not keeping sharp things in the backpack next to this. The TPU is quite soft and flexible, more like cloth than like some of our other stiff water bladders that can almost stand up by themselves. I prefer the TPU to the other materials that our more expensive bladders are made from. I love the huge screw lid and opening. I'm very happy to have this for the next time I'm outside in the heat.
Good Size, Great Quality
Exactly what I needed to complete the gravity filtration system I like to set up at my campsite. I prefer to filter several liters of water at a time, and use gravity to accomplish the work instead of carrying an expensive hand-pump water filter.
Nice replacement bladder for hydration pack
This hydration pack bladder holds 2 liters of water and makes a good replacement for a damaged or cheap bladder. The hose is nice and long and has a connector in the middle so you can more easily clean and fill the bladder with water. There is a nice large screw top to allow easy cleaning of the bladder and to permit putting ice cubes into your water before going out for a hike or a ride. The top seals well, preventing unwanted leaks. The bite valve is an improvement over the super cheap ones that are basically a piece of rubber with a slit in it. Additionally, the bite valve has a push-pull portion to shut off the water to prevent leakage. The hose is nice and long to allow convenient placement of the bite valve for your ease of use.
Well made
The design is well done and fits inside a hiking backpack. The weight isn’t too much either.
