Pretty impressed with the picture. I'm not tech savvy-at all! I think it's a clear picture and decent sound. Reading about bluetooth speakers thought it may be too quiet or tinny. But I'm more than happy with the sound and the volume too.(Added photos- not the best in the middle of decorating but give you an insight into the picture quality)Also, I couldnt find a definitive answer if my sky puck would work with the projector so took a gamble. Turns out, a good gamble- so easy to connect!Would recommend if you want something straight forward and arent too into technology like me.Overall, a great purchase!

Technology in these types has moved on from the days of using incandescent bulbs. This has brought the price down but there is always something bigger and better. The actual unit now advertised here is different to that shipped to me for testing although I suspect it will perform the same. This isn't going to replace your TV unless your TV happens to be made 50 years ago and neither will it be much good outdoors unless you are watching at night only. Not to take anything away here, but given the current version is on offer (with 50% off + extra 10% coupons) for £39.99 you shouldn't expect to be competing with high-end products.This does have its place of course, and thats in a windowless basement where you can take advantage of the large screen and the brightness it offers has the best possible chance. Would also work at night or with blackout blinds but really any source of light strong enough to read the labels on the buttons will give a poor viewing experience.Good range of connections and its easy to use. Perhaps something to entertain the kids for under £40, wouldn't really spend much more on it if I'm honest, I have some others we use at Halloween for window projections that cost less and are brighter.

The projector is very versatile, compatible with a wide range of devices. The WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity make it easy to stream content from my phone or laptop. The built-in speaker is surprisingly loud and clear, but I prefer to connect it to external speakers for a more immersive audio experience. The picture quality is fantastic, so everything looks bright and clear. The projector is compact and lightweight, making it easy to take with me on trips or to set up in different rooms of my house.

This is a little larger than I expected for the money, as it really is quite good value.The unit is about the size of a standard projector give or take and looks quite the part when setup.I really liked he simple to follow setup wizard that gets you connected and working in no time at all.You simply add it to your wifi and then add your accounts, and then set up the screen orientation and distance with its own clever little focusing system.The picture whilst not as good as a TV, is perfectly fine for sitting across the room to watch.You do need to dim the lights though as with pretty much most projectors, so this isnt really a negative.The real beauty of this is that you can just put it anywhere close to a power source and use it. You dont need to supply it with a video source as it can just stream everything, which for me is preferable anyhow.It does come with a screen of sorts, which is just pretty much a sheet, I didnt really notice any improvements to using it on a white painted wall, so the screen is back in the box.I really cant stress how good this is for the money even at just under £150 and currently it's on a special for just under £100, which to me is mind blowingly good.5 easy stars

I was very impressed with this projector; it is incredible at the price and definitely an easy 5 out of 5 stars. The 1080 picture is clear, and there are lots of settings to tweak which I really liked, the auto focus is excellent and there is an option to manual focus it too. The image is fairly bright, obviously it is not as bright as a high-end projector but, for the price (under £150 at time of writing), it is unbelievably good.The pictures that I have associated with this review don't do it justice this these are taken with the projector at 2 meters distance in the daytime on its default setup. With a reflective screen and a dark room, this projector is great for kids’ movie night.This projector is well made, it feels nice and sturdy, the fan cover can be removed for cleaning and the stand can be locked in place with an Allen Key (included)The projector can be angled and locked in many positions which is great if you are short on space as this projector can be pointed straight up, so if you wanted to use your ceiling and lay in bed to watch movies and play games.The settings allow the projector to be table-top or ceiling mounted. It can even be used for back projection.You can use the onboard apps to watch content or plug in a games machine, PC, DVD player etc via the ports included.This device includes inputs for HDMI, Component RCA AV (via supplied cable), USB it also has a Headphone output. This projector also has wireless connectivity with WIFI and Bluetooth. Note that the Bluetooth can also be used to connect a wireless speaker.Another great aspect is that the power connector is a standard C2 power cable, if you needed a longer or shorter cable for your application then they are available from many distributors.The only minor criticism that I have is that I could not find United Kingdom, Great Britain or England in the Region list, but I’m sure there will be a region that works for the UK.Pros:- Clear Picture- Lots of settings- Auto Focus- Well Made- Standard Input Ports- Wifi Connectivity- C2 Power connector- Versatile positions and angles.Cons:- Could not find my country on the region list.
Bright image with clear sound - great for portable movie nights
I recently had the chance to use a modern portable projector for the first time and was impressed with its capabilities, especially considering the size and cost. I’ve learned that they are great as a secondary tv or as a portable movie theatre, so when I saw this Himovies projector I had to give it a try. It’s a bit larger than I was expecting, but the size means a brighter image and decent sound, so will serve well as a means of sharing movies with a large group of people or simply displaying movies/images on a large screen.The package includes the projector, a power cord, a remote control (you need to supply the batteries), an HDMI cable, a mini-jack to RCA cable, a large fabric screen with ties, a cleaning tool, and an instructions booklet. The projector only has an on/off button as all the controls are done through the remote, so you want to be sure you always have some spare batteries so you can control the device. You can connect devices to the projector as it has headphone, AV, HDMI, and two USB-C ports.Setup is fairly straightforward, if not a bit tedious with the remote. The projector does enable Bluetooth connections so I’m guessing you could connect a Bluetooth enabled keyboard to make some of the text entry a bit easier. The first part of the setup includes connecting to your WiFi Network (assuming you’re using this at home or in a place with WiFi), and after that it’s a matter of signing into your preferred streaming services. Netflix and Bolo Prime are both installed as defaults, and I connected to my Prime account without issue. You can also plug in a USB device that contains images or videos, or connect a video source through the HDMI cable.For those that have used an Android TV box, the manner in which you operate the projector is similar. In addition to the pre-installed apps you have the option of installing many more. One of the ones I installed first was the screenshare app, so I could test using the projector as an output for my phone. It took a few tries but in the end I got it working and was able to share my photos on a big screen using the projector.The projector can be used to project straight on (on a wall), or straight up (on a ceiling). You can also configure it to do rear projection or inverted projection (i.e., if you hang the projector from a ceiling). In all cases, the device provides automatic keystone correction as well as auto focus. The keystone works well but I found the auto focus sometimes needed adjustment, something you do with the remote.This is not a 4K projector but rather an HD projector. I can’t verify the 10,000:1 contrast ratio, but it’s quite visible even in a well lit room. The sound quality isn’t high-def, but it’s good for indoor use as it is relatively crisp and clear. If you are using it outdoors or with a larger audience I think you’d need to connect an external speaker either physically or via Bluetooth.Overall, this is a nice portable projector. The fact it comes with a fabric screen means you have everything you need to use it both indoors and outside. Therefore, if you’re in the market for a portable projector I’d put this on your list to consider.
Complete kit to get you started watching movies on a large screen
This projector from Himovies is the perfect starter kit for enjoying movies on a much larger screen than standard TVs. It has everything needed to get started in minutes.The kit comes with the projector, a wireless remote, a projector screen and cables, including a HDMI cable and AV cables. The projector itself is quite compact and lightweight. It is mostly made of plastic. The stand is a bit wobbly so it needs to be placed on a solid surface. I like that there is no external power brick. The power cable is a bit short so I recommend using an extension cord to avoid bumping into the shorter cable.The projector supports 1080P resolution, and this is confirmed by the various preinstalled apps (no 4K support). The unit only has a power button, so all of the configuration and navigation must be done with the provided wireless remote. There are no batteries included (the remote runs on AAA batteries). It takes only a couple of minutes to configure it, where you will need to configure a WiFi connection. The unit can automatically adjust the focus and keystone. It works surprisingly well. I did try to manually adjust those settings but I found the automatic adjustments were good already. Note that the installation defaults to settings for data collection, and I could not refuse it entirely. The user interface is not Android TV, but it has a clean look, with preinstalled Netflix, Prime Video and Youtube. I tested it with Netflix, and it worked fine without any issues.This projector would not replace an OLED or QLED TV in terms of picture quality, but it is much better than I expected at this price point. The image is limited to 1080P, and that is noticeable if you are used to 4K streaming. However the colors, and color temperatures can be adjusted quickly and easily to get good picture quality. It has average brightness though, so it really can only be used in dark rooms or during the evening. However, once the ambient lighting is dark enough, the colors do have a decent pop to them. The built-in speaker is decent as well. I use my home theater receiver for sound, but for presentations or casual gaming/TV watching, the built-in speaker is more than adequate. The lens area does get very warm after some use, and there is a fan to keep things cool. The fan makes noise but not much more than typical laptop fans. One bonus feature is that this kit comes with a projector screen. It has string for securing the screen outdoors too. The screen is made of cloth. If you are looking for a very decent projector at an affordable price range, then I can easily recommend this one. It is easy to setup, has decent picture color and comes with everything needed.

This projector wants to collect data for some reason. For us that is a no go, which is the reason why we can't use any of the built in apps because we don't want to connect it to the internet. It's a shame because this is otherwise a pretty solid device at this price point.The device itself is pretty good. We found it could project on a variety of surfaces and distances with no problems. It worked on a basement wall that was 20 feet away and also on the provided screen from 6 feet away. The further the screen the darker the room needs to be, but we found that when used outside from 6 feet away the image was visible enough to start a movie when projected onto a screen at dusk, although waiting 30 mins or so after the sun has set will make the image much more visible. We found that the resolution was more than good enough in this setup as well.The stand is a little wobbly and you do get some shaking of the device when people bump the power cord or put a drink down on the table where the projector is sitting. There doesn't appear to be any anti-wobble tech in place. When the device settles down it does end up pointing back in the same place so it isn't that much of an issue. The provide power cord is a little short - you will likely need an extension cord.The device has a really cool auto-setup feature that sets the focus, zoom, and angle adjustment. It does require a dark environment for it to work reliably all the way through the process, but we found that even in a bright room the auto-focus (which is the first step) usually worked. Even if the other steps fail, having the device focuses is enough to be able to access the menus and manually set the zoom and angle adjustment. You do need the auto-focus to work, because there is no manual focus knob on the device anywhere, and if you can't get it to focus you can't work the menus.One thing that would have been nice would have been buttons on the remote to start the focus process. The device does it by default when you power it on and when you make a significant adjustment to the angle/position of the device, but a button to trigger it makes more sense. I would have also liked to see a means of using the projector without the remote via a small set of buttons on the projector itself - even just a source selection button and maybe volume controls.The projector comes with a neat fabric screen. The material is nice and thick, it has a black border, and it has grommets at the corners and middle so that you can easily hang it. It even comes with a piece of paracord and some stick-on hooks for helping to hang it! The grommets are great, we used them to hang the screen on the hooks that are normally used for the bug netting on our outdoor gazebo.There is a fan but it doesn't make a lot of noise. We found that the audio playing from the device easily covered what noise the fan made. The device does heat up but never to the point where we felt it was in any danger. We gave it a good test by letting it run for over 4 hours and the temperature gauge never budged above 50 degrees C.As mentioned above, we didn't really try the built in apps (netflix, youtube, and prime being the only three we would consider using) because the device insists on collecting data for reasons it never really explains. Why does a projector need to gather data and report it back to the manufacturer? We do know that if you are brave enough to connect the device to the internet and go to the appstore, disney+ is not currently available to download and install, which is a major bummer!

For the occasional use in an event space or outdoor setting this is fine. I would not use is on the daily as your actual TV but overall it is fine.

The media could not be loaded. Today, I am reviewing the Himovies M10 Projector, a 1080p LED model with connectors for HDMI, USB, and AV. Inside the box, you’ll find an HDMI cable, a composite AV cable, a remote control, and a 100-inch screen, perfect for outdoor viewing.The projector features a built-in speaker that is functional but lacks depth. While it works in a pinch, a dedicated soundbar would be a better choice for full-time use. The picture quality exceeded my expectations; colors are vibrant, and the video is impressively sharp for a projector in this price range. It performs adequately in rooms with some ambient light but truly excels in darker environments, where colors pop and blacks deepen significantly.If you plan to use this projector indoors full-time, preparing a super flat wall and painting a screen area is recommended. Instead of the typical white, opt for Behr’s “Silver Screen” paint, available at Home Depot, to achieve deeper blacks and richer colors.Connectivity options are ample, with HDMI and USB ports and an AV connector, which could be handy for older devices like VCRs or DVD players. I primarily used the HDMI port to connect an Apple TV. The projector also offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, allowing access to built-in apps like Bolo Prime, Netflix, YouTube, and Plex. While the App Store selection is limited, the main apps were sufficient, though I missed having access to services like Crave and Gem.The projector’s fan noise is noticeable, and it produces a significant amount of heat, even after adjusting the settings. However, the auto screen sizing and focus features are reliable and work well even when the projector is moved slightly.Despite some minor drawbacks, the value of this projector is undeniable. Having owned several high-end projectors costing thousands of dollars, I was impressed by the Himovies M10’s color accuracy and resolution, which rival those of far more expensive models. Overall, the Himovies M10 Projector is a highly recommended choice for those looking for quality on a budget.
