    This large auto twirling hair curler works really well. It has 3 heat settings and heats up pretty quickly. It takes a bit of getting used to and practice to get it right- i recommend watching the video.It has a built in timer to let you know when to release the curl (10 seconds (one beep) for a loose curl and 14 seconds (two beeps) for a tighter one). This is a really excellent styling tool for under £50. Would recommend.

    This is a great idea for curling longer hair - but don't do what I did and just 'have a go with it' as you will, as I did, use it incorrectly.Used correctly it does take a bit of practice to get used to the curling motion, but once mastered it was easy to use. Like that I don't need to worry about burning my fingers trying to wrap my hair around the curling tongs. The 1 or 2 beep timer is good for altering the strength of the curl, as are the 3 heat settings.It is also good for anyone with hand issues, arthritis etc , as no need to wrap the hair yourself. Let the tool do all the work.Ideal to 'partify' your hair, alot cheaper than going to a salon. Great value at £29.99 (current price)

    This hair curler was bigger than I expected but as I've not used one before, that didn't unduly worry me. I did find the instructions a little confusing - you have to get one particular part closest to your roots / head. But after I'd figured that out (in the mirror!) it was fine. It has several temperatures and despite having thick hair, I worked my way up to find the one that kept the wave with the longer curling time. Again, I did find it a bit of a challenge to get my hair to wind round the curler, but I think that this is because my hair is so thick that it needed encouraging into the curler whereas if it'd been "floppier", it would have done it itself. Anyway, after a bit of experimenting (including which way to wind to get the curl going inwards or outwards), and practice, I did end up with waves that stayed in place for most of the day. Success !

    This didn't really work for my hair. It didn't curl as much as I thought it would and they dropped out quickly. I tried all the heat settings and tried using it for longer but the curls didn't last. You also need long hair with no layers to use this otherwise it's hard to get all the hair into the curler and the shorter layers just get tangled as the machine twists. Great idea but just didn't work for my hair type.

    This curler gets up to temperature quite quickly and has three temperature settings which are electronically controlled. The way it is constructed almost in concentric layers prevents the really hot part from touching your scalp so preventing burns which is a very useful feature if you are not used to using tongs on yourself. The way you fit your hair into it takes a bit of getting use to and I had to look a several clips online for other brands to work out how to do it. The unit has timed beeps on how long to heat your hair and for hair that is not as thick as it once was, a single beep was enough. The tongs are not as versatile as an Airwrap but they are a fraction of the price.

    This is a very stylish, modern appliance which is more suited to long or very thick hair. Easy to use, press the button for effortless silky curls which actually stay without having to top up as the day goes on. Hygienic, lightweight and portable, this is a tangle free curler giving salon style curls without manually twisting the hair onto the ceramic plates. Highly recommended.
