5.0 out of 5 stars Looks smart, generally pretty good, has pros and cons
£70 at time of reviewI’ve several different sized camera bags all with their own pros and cons & uses. If you’re looking to pack a lot of gear for a trip, then this is a good sized bag, although if you fill it, it’s going to be pretty heavy (10-15kg), so only really good as a day pack if you don’t fill it to the max. With that in mind the shoulder straps on this are reasonably well padded, and it has a chest strap to stop it moving around, but there’s no hip straps, so no way to redistribute the weight from your shoulders to your hips, IMO an essential if you load this up fully. It’s smart looking, doesn’t cry out mug me I’m a camera bag full of expensive gear, but it doesn’t shy away either… and while it has a couple of secure pockets for a mobile or wallet etc in the lower back area, I would have liked to have seen zips pulls that could be secured or held together easily with a small padlock, but there’s no way to lock this bag up… maybe this isn’t a concern for you, but it’s an essential I think ALL camera bag manufacturers should adhere too (even big brand names often omit this on some of their bags!)I appreciate I am giving this bag bit of a hard time, but it’s not all bad, I just thought it best to point out a few initial failings I’ve noticed. The interior is well catered for for, the inserts are ideal for numerous set up, although again they could do with a few stiff inserts too, as they do sag a bit when you’ve heavy stuff in this, but you can work around that to an extent. I like the side opening to get at the camera quickly by slinging it around to your front on one shoulder, which is a feature I again think all bags should have to some extent. The integrated USB ports are useful, not something I will use much personally, although there are times it may come in handy. Not a fan of the tripod straps on the bottom, would prefer them on the side and get rid of the bottle holder, as underneath the tripod will get dirty or possibly damaged when you need to put this down, and of course the bag simply falls over if you have a tripod attached, thus meaning either the back of front get dirty!Yes you can work around all these issues, but I’ve been lugging camera equipment around for almost 50 years so have plenty of experience. There really is no such thing as a perfect camera bag (some get close), we all have different needs and there’s different scenarios, if you think this bag suits your needs then grab it, as it’s well made, the zips and build quality all looks very good and it will last a good few years I’m sure.Hope my review was helpful
