I ordered this in M size to add to a gift for a grandchild including a genuine science kit. Sadly, this garment is more a one of dress up item, perhaps for a school dress up day or similar. It is not quality to use again and again for ‘lab work’. It is also very narrow. Long for a 3-4 year old but would not fit an older child around the chest. Disappointed.

Arrives in a smallish box.Inside the box are a decent set of play items including a test tube, some goggles and a lanyard. Also included is the labcoat which is folded and within a cellophane bag.On first look you think this looks a reasonable play kit for a young child. And then I unwrapped the lab coat. Yikes.Ok the listing does tell you that the labcoat is made from 'quality polyester' and previously I have always bought the kids a cotton labcoat. Well this polyester version doesnt look very nice, the material feels rough and the quality of stitching is awful. Loose straggly ends of thread were everywhere. All at least an inch long. Where was the quality control in manufacture?Also I bought this for a (for want of a better word) "skinny" 9 year old. The listing says the lab coat has a comfortable loose fit. Well it fits but theres no way you would describe it as loose. A snug fit yes.In summary. Would a 5,6,7 year old enjoy dressing up and playing with this kit? Yes I think they would have great fun. Is it a quality made item? Not really. Is it value for money? I believe the price of £12.99 is top end for something of this quality.If you do buy this item, then from my experience, if you are undecided on the size to buy then go one size up and also be prepared to do some 'finishing off' with some scissors on the lab coat.I was undecided as to the review stars I should give - 2 or 3 stars? I went for 3 stars because the accessories that came in the box were decent. However, If it was just the labcoat in the box, I would only award it 2 stars.

This scientist set is really nice, good quality, comes with a lanyard, safety glasses, a magnifier, a pipette and a recipient. My little one loves it.

This costume set is perfect for little scientists and includes a lab coat, googles, dropper, test tube and ID card. The items are all well made and look great so its perfect for Halloween, fancy dress events or just role playing. Looks like pictures and not a bad price.

This play doctors or scientist set has a lab coat, science goggles, ID card and test tube.The coat is well - made and nice fabric. It can be washed by hand or machine.The other bits are a little random but a young child might enjoy the goggles and bits.
