4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely design with a few hiccups.
This Cane Rattan Webbing Roll offers a good value for the price and has been quite useful in my recent DIY projects. I primarily used it to reface some cabinets and accent dresser drawers, and I’m pleased with how it has transformed the look of my furniture. The rattan pattern is beautiful and adds a nice touch of texture. The roll arrived quickly and was packaged well, which was a plus. However, I did find some challenges during the application process. I initially tried to use wood glue to attach it, but that didn’t hold as well as I had hoped. Instead, I ended up using staples, which worked much better.Cutting the webbing to size proved to be a bit tricky. I struggled with rough edges, which made for a less polished finish than I wanted. I also came across advice suggesting that soaking the webbing before use might help prevent it from rolling, but I would advise against that. I tried soaking a piece, and it ended up discoloured, which was disappointing.Overall, despite a few challenges, I’m really happy with the results. The rattan webbing has definitely given my bathroom cabinet a fresh, vintage look, and I appreciate its versatility. Just be prepared for some trial and error when it comes to cutting and attaching!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and robust material
This rattan webbing is smooth, neat and feels like good quality. This will do the job for renewing an old chair with a rattan style backing. I will also then have enough left over to make a few small storage units for the side board. This currently comes in at just under £20 for a metre roll which doesn't seem like great value but, looking at other products on the market, it does seem to be the going rate for this type of material.
4.0 out of 5 stars Plastic effect rattan weave
This is, I guess, a more durable alternative to real rattan but it has just a slight sheen to it so doesn't look too plastic. The weave is quite flat and the pattern is nice and you get a metre of it for £20. Not sure if this is a good price or not but either way, it will be enough to infil some drawers to change up an old unit to create a whole new look .
