5.0 out of 5 stars A quality trackball worth the investment.
From the moment I opened the box, it was clear that this trackball is a premium product. The packaging was well-designed and robust, setting the tone for the quality experience that followed. The device itself feels solid and well-constructed, with even the smallest details reflecting its superior craftsmanship. The trackball is exceptionally smooth under the thumb, gliding effortlessly with minimal resistance. The buttons are precise, offering just the right amount of feedback, making every click feel deliberate and controlled. Ergonomically, this device is a game-changer. After decades of using a traditional mouse, switching to a trackball was a significant adjustment, but the comfort and reduction in strain have been well worth it. I can already feel the difference in my hand and wrist, which makes the learning curve a small price to pay. While it may take some time to retrain years of muscle memory, I am confident that this transition will lead to long-term benefits. I highly recommend this trackball to anyone looking for a high-quality, ergonomic alternative to the traditional mouse. It’s an investment in comfort and efficiency that I believe will pay off in the long run.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Enough
It’s a nice enough mouse although feels a little cheaply made. Very light and rattle although you’re not going to be moving it about that much so shouldn’t t matter. I find the thumb ball quite small and awkward and that it’s overly sensitive. I use rollerball mouses on the regular so it’s not just that I’m out of practise. There is no side to side scroll which I don’t like and the button placements are okay.connectivity is good via Bluetooth or via the included dongle. I had no disconnections at all.I don’t find it particularly ergonomic or comfortable to use for longer periods. It need some sort of wrist rest to improve that.If the ball was a lot bigger, had side scrolling and was a little chunkier for larger hands it would be a significantly better mouse for me. It’s by no means bad, just not my favourite.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic mouse alternative
This is a really great piece of kit if you have issues with your hand and wrist from a standard mouse.I've been using a vertical mouse for some time but this is a next step. It's going to take a bit of getting used to as using the trackball instead of moving the mouse around feels very different, but I really like it.Out of the box it feels good quality. I have to confess I don't read instructions - on the underside of the mouse there's an on-off toggle and a tiny push-release USB dongle which I'm assuming can be used to connect it to the computer. However, I simply turned it on, paired it via Bluetooth and I was off.It has a very wide and stable base and is comfortable to rest the hand on. The smooth matte surface provides some grip. I've noticed no issues at all with lag. I actually find the thing a little hyper-responsive, and the trackball is very loose but I think it's just going to be a matter of me getting used to it. You can't hear the click of the buttons at all, and they do have a nice tactile response to being clicked. The track ball easily pushes out via a hole underneath so you can clean the sensor/rolling bits. The charging port is conveniently placed at the front so you can continue to use it when charging, and it's a standard USB C charge so you can use any cable you've got handy.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality and comfortable to use but lacks some features
Everything about this mouse looks to be good quality:-- Packaging looks attractive- Mouse itself is in a sealed plastic bag- Charging lead has a braided cable and also a reusable velcro tie to keep it tidy- Mouse itself has a nice matt feel to it- Rubber pads on the bottom of the mouse stop it moving around in use- Trackball operation is very smooth- Mouse is very comfortable to hold and useIn terms of features, it includes:-- DPI adjustment- Back and forward buttons- Option to connect via included wireless receiver or bluetoothAlthough its good quality, there are a number of features that it lacks compared to some of its competitors:-- Battery charge status displayed on PC- Programmable buttons- Ability to run as a wired mouse- Indication of selected DPIOverall this is a well built and comfortable to use trackball mouse. It lacks some features of its competitors, but is still good value for money.Highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and Convenient
I’m a fan of ProtoArc pointing devices. They have a nice quality feel to them and include many of the features the mainstream products provide, and usually at lower cost. I’m also a fan of trackball mice. Between work and hobbies, I can easily spend 10 hours a day driving a mouse which can lead to stiff joints and wrist pain. Swapping between device styles can help this. This vertical trackball is comfortable use, fitting my medium sized hand easily. The trackball has a pleasant smooth rolling action. The main mouse buttons and the back / forward buttons are all in easy reach and are comfortable to use. The device is rechargeable using the supplied USB C cable and connects using Bluetooth or the supplied wireless dongle. The only negative point is that the buttons are non-programmable. I like to remap the auxiliary buttons to perform copy and paste, but on this device they’re locked to their default forward and backward functions. This should be obvious, but the trackball is suitable for right hand use only!
