Love, love, love this keyboard
Not only is it cute, it’s thocky and creamy at the same time, and so, so easy to type on. It’s my new favourite keyboard!
Great Quality Keyboard for Typing Practice and Improving Technique
The media could not be loaded. The quality construction of this keyboard is impressive. Despite being made of plastic, the material is very thick and feels high-quality. The keyboard itself is heavy, giving it a premium feel despite the plastic build.I bought this model specifically to practice and learn how to type the right way. I’ve always typed using one finger on each hand, and while I can type fast that way, I’ve always wanted to improve my typing technique. So far, this keyboard is helping me with spreading my fingers and typing better. The keys are widely spaced, so it takes a bit of getting used to if you’re not familiar with this layout, but at least it helps me keep my hands where they’re supposed to be. I love the split space bar and the two “B” keys—they’re positioned perfectly, making it easier to reach them because of how separated they are.The cute kitty keycap design is another highlight. The keycaps are of great quality and thickness, adding to the overall charm and greatness of the keyboard. This is my first experience using Barbie switches. The actuation force is light, which allows me to rest my fingers on the keys without worrying about accidental presses—a nice feature. The sound is on the clacky side, not thocky at all, so if you’re looking for that deep, satisfying thock, these switches might not be for you. The sound is loud and has a crystal-like tone to it, which I don’t mind, though I may swap the switches later on for a thockier sound, as I think this keyboard could benefit from a different switch pairing. That said, the stabilizers are well-tuned, so I don’t feel the need to adjust them at all.I also really like the knob on this keyboard. It gives a satisfying click when you rotate it to change the volume, which is a nice touch.Overall, this keyboard is excellent if you’re a typist looking to experiment with a different layout or if you want to improve your typing technique. Its design helps train your fingers to move and stay in the proper positions, and I’m hopeful that I’ll continue to improve my typing skills with it.
Lovely Keyboard, but split isn't for me.
I love this keyboard, but a split layout is not my cup of tea. I thought I'd try out a split keyboard to try to help with my ergonomics, but my muscle memory is too far gone that my typing style just doesn't work with a split keyboard.Aside from my skill issue, this keyboard is a DREAM. It's really heavy and solid, like I don't feel like I need to open it up and add additional foams or rubbers. I do wish the LEDs with south-facing as opposed to north facing. Love the Leobolg Barbie switches, they're kinda clacky, but they're muted in the heavy case. The knob in the middle isn't an analog stick, it's pretty much a second set of arrow keys, and clicking it in is an enter key. It's a little too easy to click in for my tastes, but it's a fun little addition. The knob on the top right controls either the keyboard lighting style/brightness or volume/mute. You have to hold down the button for a few seconds to switch modes. The bottom left corner will flash either blue or green to tell you which mode it just switched to. The stabilizers are also generously lubed so the whole thing just sounds great. No notes.Overall if you're in the market for a split keyboard and want a great starter for the mech lifestyle. This is a solid choice!
Very nice!
I absolutely love this keyboard! I use it every single day, I'm using it right now, I use it with my laptop for gaming and I also use it with my ipad more than I use the keyboard case. It seamlessly connects to both, even though my computer is Windows and my tablet is iOS, just flipping the toggle between bluetooth and usb connection is all it needs. The images of kitties all over are super aesthetically adorable, and then the ones that aren't kitty faces are paws and toe beans soooo cute *squee*!! It takes some getting used to in order to change the RBG lighting, the keyboard and the side lights are different. And not all the features work with all the light options, but still really great. I usually keep the lights that highlight the movement keys on, especially as I was getting used to this setup. I also really love the volume/mute knob, it's very intuitive and quick in helping adjust volume in the middle of doing anything in game.
Great little keyboard
The media could not be loaded. This keyboard was very easy to pair with my iPad using Bluetooth. When I unlock my iPad and touch the keyboard, it pairs instantly every single time. It connected instantly to my computer using the dongle, and was responsive enough to play a first-person shooter game with no lag or glitching. It also comes with a charging cable which can provide a wired connection. The keys seem to be very sensitive, and at the beginning, I was getting a lot of extra letters. As I've gotten used to it, the number of random letters appearing has lessened, so that may be because I use a true mechanical keyboard most of the time, on which I actually have to TAP the letters, not just touch them, and I may be resting my fingers too heavily on this little keyboard. I've never used the joystick in the center, so can't comment on it. There is no number pad, so it's slightly smaller than a standard keyboard which is nice for traveling. The makers seem to be obsessed with the lights - there are something like 17 different lighting settings. I just want the keys to be backlit for use in a darkened environment, so most of those settings are lost on me. Fortunately once you've set the lights the way you want them, you can push and hold the knob in the upper right corner until the lights blink, and that puts it in office mode, which means the knob controls the volume. Turn clockwise or counter-clockwise to turn the volume up and down, or press the knob to mute/unmute. There are many settings you can change, all in the somewhat confusing Chinese/English user manual, if you can decipher the Chin-glish. It comes with a key puller and two extra key mechanisms, and the rear feet on the underside are two-sided magnetic inserts. You can pop them out very easily, and turn them over to set the keyboard up slightly higher.I use it to make my iPad useable for taking notes and typing emails and texts so I don't have to haul my laptop around. The keyboard fits in my tote bag with my iPad, so even though it's a bit heavy, about a kilo and a half, it's not that difficult to carry around. Overall, I'm very happy with it.Four stars for features, ease of use, and responsiveness, one star off for the poorly translated manual and the weight.
