5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent edutainment
It's a much more advanced version of the classic "turtle" robot that you may have seen in the 90s.It's pretty easy to understand, I am technical but wouldn't think you need much of a background in it.I've used similar things before, the fact that it's embodied and physical really helps with kids, it's hard to make them care about code on a screen such as Scratch.I work in software and this is a pretty good way of teaching young kids how to think logically.Overall, really happy, my neice has been enjoying it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and educational
Engaging and educational, this set is perfect for young children exploring coding concepts. The physical interaction with the blocks makes abstract ideas much easier to grasp. I’ve seen kids quickly pick up sequencing and problem-solving skills. What stands out is how screen-free the experience is, allowing for hands-on learning without any distractions. The combination of fun and education makes it a top choice for any parent or teacher looking to introduce coding.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for a 7 year old
My son is at the stage where he likes putting things together, this currently is set up in a way that is very easy to understand (once you show them how). I must admit I had a little bit of fun with this too! It comes with a few challenge books and maps to use, which you can use to navigate or setup. It is a bit pricey for what it is as I found other "clones" for less, but overall nice to get kids into a more "coding" approach to things.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but prohibitively expensive for some.
This item was selling for £199.99 when I requested it; it currently has a £30 off voucher available. I requested this set for one of my grandchildren who is very bright, loves a challenge and building things.I’m very impressed with this set; it’s fun, challenging and really does meet STEAM criteria. It’s something that will challenge both boys and girls without the use of screens or gender stereotypical content. It’s such a good introduction to coding, although younger children will probably require some adult assistance, at least to get them started. The downside, of course, is the price, which is likely to put it out of the reach of some families. Definitely recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun coding experience
The MatataStudio Pro Set Coding Robot is an excellent introduction to coding and STEM learning for young children. As a parent looking for educational toys that engage and teach important skills, I’m very impressed with what this robot offers. This coding robot is designed for children as young as 4 years old, and it truly lives up to being beginner-friendly. The design is colorful and fun, capturing kids' attention right away. Despite being a tech toy, it doesn't overwhelm young learners. The robot's simplicity encourages kids to explore and experiment with coding concepts, making learning feel like play. The robot introduces entry-level programming concepts like sequences, loops, and conditions in a way that's intuitive for kids. The materials feel durable and safe for younger children. While the toy is child-focused, I found it rewarding to participate as a parent. It's easy to get involved in the activities, guiding them when needed but also watching them explore on their own. The set is intuitive enough that kids can play independently after some initial help.I highly recommend this toy for parents or educators looking to introduce coding concepts to young learners in a playful, interactive manner.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun and Educational Coding Experience
The Matatalab Pro is a fantastic tool for introducing young children to the world of coding. Its hands-on approach makes learning both engaging and effective. By simply placing coding blocks on a board, kids can control the MatataBot's movements and create their own unique sequences. It works really well!I particularly liked the intuitive graphic symbols on the coding blocks, which help children easily understand and predict the robot's behavior. The included challenge books and warm-up cards provide a structured way for my youngest to progress his skill, it is well thought out. It was great to see him doing something different rather than being fixed on a screen. While the Matatalab Pro is a great starting point, I would have liked to see more in-depth explanations for some of the advanced features in the manual. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have options for extending the coding beyond the set, perhaps by using a different code interpreter. I'm not sure how long it would be before my son will want to do more than just what's included. As a computer programmer, I found the Matatalab Pro to be a wonderful way to spark children's interest in coding and help them develop essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills. A great item.
4.0 out of 5 stars Educational with various options for play
Firstly, there is a lot in this set. It is a fun learning tool for children of early school age, although older kids will gain from the experience too.Secondly, this is a challenging activity. Unless used with older children (over 9?), it really requires adult engagement. There are 3 levels included and within that, different tasks and ways to engage with the included pieces of play. The main robot is basically a camera which engages with the other 'counters' in play on boards. This is a very engaging and educational toy which will suit some children more than others. For that reason, and the high cost, buying needs to be carefully considered. As a set for primary classrooms, I think it is excellent.
5.0 out of 5 stars MatataStudio Pro: 5 Stars of Fun and Learning!
This is a brilliant tool for my granddaughter—she’s learning the program without realising it! The MatataStudio Pro set has much to offer, from basic coding concepts to hands-on fun that challenges her critical thinking and creativity. What stands out is how intuitive the whole thing is—no need for words, just clever blocks and an imaginative control board. She keeps returning to it because there's always something new to try! If I had to nitpick, I’d say it’I'd bit it'sey, but considering the educational value, it’s worth it'sy penny. All in all, a solid five stars!
Replicando instrucciones al robot
The media could not be loaded.

One of the best brain challenge game sets that you can buy
The MatataStudio coding set is an incredible toy for young kids. My neighbor's boy, who is 6 years old absolutely loves it. It's a fantastic introduction to coding, with a hands-on, engaging way to learn early programming concepts. The robot is super fun and easy to use (by kids with higher intelligence), with physical blocks that make the learning process more interactive and intuitive. What sets this learning game apart from most of the other games is its ability to teach complex ideas in such a simple and playful manner. The build quality is excellent and the set is durable enough for daily use. One thing comes to my mind while I'm writing this review - last week I've read somewhere that the Bolo Web Services CEO said, that in about 5 years the world won't need developers anymore, because the artificial intelligence will be so advanced that it will write all the code for everything. No matter if that's true, this coding set advances and upgrades the way the kid who's using it thinks, something like the way studying mathematics works, and this is really a positive thing for the young generation, not only to wash their brains by watching stupid videos on tiktok and instagram. The coding set comes very well packaged in a nice looking carton box, which is appropriate for a gift to a young boy or girl, and it protects the contents perfectly during transport. This is one of the best brain challenge game sets that you can buy for your kid!
Divertido y educativo
The media could not be loaded.
