5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for the price

    S. · 12 October 2024

SummaryNot a lover of open ear headphones, but these really surprised me.Set upVery easy using the free to download app. I had them working on my phone within a minute or two. The app is very good and typical of much higher priced headphones.Sound QualityOpen ear headphones will never be 'as good' for music quality as closed as they cannot provide the isolation and close - coupling to my ear drums compared to inserted buds. However, these are the best cheaper-range open ear phones that I have tried. I have had much more expensive ones too.Tones - Freq'sLows are vague, but audible. Mids are fair and highs are a little feeble, but this is typical of open ear phones in general. I fiddled with the app a maximised the sound quality and in the end I was quite pleased with the result across many genres of music.Phone callsThey work with little fuss.Charging casePhenomenal 104Hrs playing time claimed from the manufacturers and in general I am not surprised. I was listening to them all day and only used 15% of charge (starting at 100%). The case is practical with the size of the phones and charging the phones starts immediately after insertion into the case.ComfortI forgot I was wearing them after a few mins - this demonstrates positively how comfortable they are to me. I also used them for cycling and found them to be very secure even over the bumpy UK roads.Value for moneyAt £50 with "30%" voucher at the time of this review - they are a bargain for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Honestly these ain't bad 👍

I'm a big Tribit fan, we have 4 speakers, the original flybuds 1, the newer flybuds 3 and top end movebuds H1 all of which are great products and have been suitable for their intended purposes.I trail run and also ride my mountain bike around my local forest. I've been using my movebuds H1 for this and they are pretty much perfect, they are comfortable (I'm a full time glasses wearer), they don't move (especially only more rocky, bumpy, jumpy terrain), the sound quality is great and the app has let me customise the controls to my preference, the only thing that isn't so good is that the noise cancelling isn't that good (especially when running I still can't hear ambient sounds/others/dogs etc), and the touch controls are a bit sensitive to rain drops/wet hair, which is a bit annoying. So when Tribit announced these 'open' earbuds I was interested and wanted to give them a go. I've now been out on 4 or 5 runs up to 10 miles and here's my first thoughts...I've paid £35 (RRP £50) for a set which I think is a good price for what you get and how they perform, and it's based against my experience of our other Tribit earbuds. The charging/carry case is about twice the size of our other earbuds (no idea why?) the only difference being a digital charging display on the inside of the case instead of the external lights on our others. The stated runtime is about 13hrs which is pretty good and fine for me (see Tribit for full specs).Picking them out of the case for the first time, they feel a bit 'plasticy' and not as tactile as I'd expected, that said they are comfortable on the ear and I've found that they are better off positioned infront of glasses arms than behind them as the earpiece sits flatter in my outer ear. To start with I was a bit concerned as it seems a lot of people are that they may be a little loose when on the ear as are 'over ear' and light weight. Well they haven't budged whilst in use...running on mixed trail terrain...mud, roots, gravel, the odd stoney bit and mountain biking on forest trails...roots, stoney sections, rockier bits, fast sweeping berms and a few smaller jumps with speeds up to 20mph. I don't have any concerns at all, they are comfortable, the wind noise when riding is negligible compared to my H1s and I can happily fit them and get on with enjoying the outdoors whilst listening to my favourite tunes. They are simple to use on the go, they connect upon removing from the case and disconnect and start charging when placed back in the case (you can use them individually , just leave the other in the case). Controling them is simple, just tap the earpieces as per the instructions, you get a plasticy click (H1s you get a nice bleep) as the tap confirmation. You can connect them to the Tribit app where you can select your preferred sound mode preset (this is not as extensive as the H1s) but there's a custom set up too, so you can find tune if you want. They only have one control set up (H1s you can choose from 4) but this happens to be the one I use on my H1s and I think it's the simplest and best of the lot...so I'm happy.Sound quality is pretty good, I'm no expert and I'm not that fussy...though I do like a fuller sound, nice bass and nice vocals...and I'm happy with sound provided. The thing I really like is that I can hear what's going on around me exceptionally clearly, even at higher volumes. I can hear approaching bikes, dogs, cars pulling out of drives etc and I feel a lot more comfortable out running because of this. The difference between wearing these and my H1s is like night and day when it comes to ambient sounds, okay sound the sound quality is not the same but it's more than good enough. My wife has started to run, and we go out together, our 'conversations' tended to be more like shouting matches, with these I don't shout, she did (she's been wearing her flybuds 3) until she borrowed mine today and she was like 'wow' I can hear everything, talk without shouting and still enjoy my music without having to turn it down/off. My wife doesn't impress easily and sometimes takes a lot of convincing, but following today's trial she's ordered her own pair.So if you are after a light weight, set of sweat/water proof open ear buds that offer great situational awareness and good sound from an established company who make some exceptionally good sound products, at a price that doesn't cost the earth, then I'd certainly recommend checking these out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Decent open ear headphones

    C.r. · 19 October 2024

I have loads of this type of headphones and i can honestly say these are one of the better, and they are very well priced. You just don't get low end bass with this type of headphones, but these manage to offer a reasonable amount of mid bass, and that's impressive for this price.Clarity in the highs is there too, but they do sound slightly boxy, but again that's normal for this type. One of my test tracks is Harmony Hall by Vampire weekend, and i use it to test the clarity, and they do very well.It has to be said, the case is massive, and probably one of the biggest ive seen.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR ME

    D.E. · 28 September 2024

When I set up the earphones, the Bluetooth connection was fine but when trying to fit around the ears, they felt loose and too insecure to wear, particularly when walking. I returned the earphones the next day. Some people might find them ok but they weren't suitable for me which is a shame as I have bought other Tribit products and have been satisfied with them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and work well

    s. · 4 October 2024

At this price point no one should be expecting class leading sound. Ideal for wearing on morning walk and casual listening in general. Pairs easily with no drop outs . Excellent value as long as sensible about the budget nature of these earbuds.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent earphones

    T.R. · 27 September 2024

Just a forewarning that there's no noise cancellation (obviously), as they're meant to be open-ear. They are surprisingly comfortable, I wore them whilst going on a fast-paced walk last evening, they do stick on to your ear and don't wobble or anything. Connection is pretty straightforward as with most Bluetooth earphones. I can't quite vouch for the total battery time, but so far it has lasted a full day with about 4h of usage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and secure fit

    H. · 17 October 2024

These headphones are comfortable to wear and they stay in place during my runs. I like the open-ear design, it allows me to hear what's going on around me while still enjoying my music. The sound quality is decent, and the battery life is impressive. They've become my go-to headphones for exercise.

    A really good value

    M. · 16 October 2024

I like open earbuds for listening to podcasts, audio books and online meetings/phone calls throughout the day as well as listening to some music on occasion particularly to keep me going on longer runs/walks.Compared to my AirPod 3's... Tribit OpenGo:- Are more comfortable- Neither have multipoint connection capability but both pair just as quickly and easily between devices- Stay in place significantly better- Have much better battery life which for me means i can leave the case on my desk or in my bag and don't have to keep the case in my pocket- Have a higher moisture and dust rating- Sound as good or slightly better for podcasts, audio books, meetings or calls- Music has a better mid bass response and presence. Neither are immersive or have a good low or sub base presence but i didn't expect them to. Both however present a clear, balanced and wide sound stage for earbuds. (I setup an EQ profile in the app which helped to dial in my music preferences a bit)At a 3rd the price of the AirPod 3, for my needs these buds are an excellent value.

They fit a variety of musical styles and are really comfy

    Ottimo

Different to what I'm used to, but very good

    A.P. · 10 October 2024

I'm a big fan of in-ear style Bluetooth buds, but the ones I use at the office for Zoom meetings don't stay in my ears securely all the time. When I told myself for the umpteenth time that I need to get back in the gym, I also told myself, "and get some suitable headphones while you're at it." I took a chance on these, and while it's taking me a while to get used to them, I like them very well. It feels odd having the driver hanging outside my ear as opposed to being in my ear, but it's not going anywhere. The earhooks work great and are comfortable, although the fit has the speakers a little farther forward on my ear than I'd like. The range from device is quite good, and while others can hear my music, it has to be blasting. I can still hear others around me as well. The case is great, with an indicator showing how much each earpiece is charged, a nice touch I thought. The headphones pair up very easily and the touch controls are very responsive. I think the only thing I'm not that excited about is the sound, which I guess is to be expected by a headphone that's open like this. There is almost zero bass in the soundscape; it's all mids and highs. But they're very clear mids and highs, with no fuzziness or tinniness. But the sound does result in one star docked from me.I plan on listening to music, podcasts, and maybe even the odd TV show or movie whilst at the gym with these, so I'm not really looking for audiophile-quality sound anyways. But if you are, these might not be the best option for you. If you just want to hear the beat so you can get your sweat on, I think these are a good option.
