    Loads of shakers for the money. But all have the same number of holes in the top so quite a lot of salt comes out when using. I also wouldn't say they were suitable for herbs and spices as there are no lids and I think they would either dry up or get damp.

    You certainly receive good value for money with 20 of these for around £1 a piece. They do look like the ones you find at you local greasy spoon cafe, but they do the job for which they are intended. The lids screw on well enough to avoid you ending up with a plate full of salt or pepper, which I have experienced with similar looking items before, so they work!If you are seeking an up market set then look elsewhere, but if you want a functional set, enough to cover 10 tables, then you need look no further than these.
