Read other reviews and while I agree with some of the critical points the main issue is that the product is very good in relation to truffle flavouring on products such as eggs and popcorn. It is excellent in hot pots and has a strong earthy flavour and causes no harm if consumed in any of these. I recommend the product as a truffle flavouring for certain foods.

This product was sent to me for review, as part of Bolo Vine. The below is my own real-world experience of using it.I was particularly drawn to it, because I have never actually tried any truffle-related dishes before, so the powder seemed like a nice way to give myself an introduction. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations.Firstly (like many other reviewers), I discovered that it isn't 100% truffle powder - quite a lot of it is actually made from carob. Given that this information is absent from the Bolo listing, I feel that that is quite misleading.And for another thing, I don't know whether a poor seal on the jar might be to blame, but it absolutely reeks - it is so bad that my entire cupboard smells of it, and the smell is permeating the other food items in there. Not exactly appetising.I did sample a little, but found it really difficult to mix, and didn't end up enjoying the flavour, which was a shame.In summary, a nice idea, but you're not really getting what you have paid for.

This is a review for the Easy Yummy Trufflepowder.It's no surprise that the listing photos don't include a picture of the ingredients given this product is actually carob powder with truffle "flavouring" and then just 0.5% actual truffle powder. If you read further down the listing, the only ingredient given for this powder is "truffle". This is completely misleading.I can buy a fresh truffles online at around £1 per 1g. Given this jar contains 60g of powder, I'm getting 0.3g of dried truffle plus filler and "flavouring" for £16. Truffles are around 70% water, so 0.3g of dried truffle would be around 1g of fresh truffle. Therefore, this powder is around 16 times more expensive than buying fresh truffles.The powder tastes fine, though it clumps and doesn't mix well (e.g. when I tried to mix it into scrambled eggs), but it's very poor value for money.

I absolutely love truffles, and I have some powdered dried truffles that I brought back from a holiday in Italy that I've nearly finished. So when I saw this EasyYummy Truffle powder, with 'Truffle' as the only listed ingredient, I was really excited to try it.Having received it and smelled and tasted it, I know it's definitely not powdered truffle. It smells like a cheap mushroom seasoning, and tastes odd: very sweet with a hint of dried mushroom. I checked the ingredients on the listing, and sure enough, it only lists 'Truffle' (see picture). In fact. according to the ingredients on the jar's label (printed in minute font so I've included an enlarged photograph), this 'truffle powder' is in fact mainly carob flour (which explains the sweet taste), with added flavouring and only half of one percent truffle powder - that is, one part in 200. So in this bottle of 60g of powder, there is a third of a gram of truffle powder - a tiny pinch.I'm not unaware of the price of truffles, and have had Italian 'Truffle dust' before, but that was half the price and much more truffley than this is. If you're really after the genuine truffle flavour, I'd suggest going for something like Pasta Evangelists Summer Truffle Grinder which costs less than this powder.I shall use this truffle powder to add to my spag bol, but it's too sweet for me to use scrambled eggs and similar. So disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend!

I bought this as it intrigued me; and as a keen amateur cook, I hoped it could add a certain umami flavour to my dishes. And it has, it’s quite strong so should be used in moderation but it is great in soups, casseroles and even on pasta. Easy Yummy Trufflepowder does exactly what it says on the jar, I shall be ordering more when I run out!

Delicate flavour and really enhances potatoes whether chips or baked potato. Dont need a lot so will last ages. Cant wait to try on fish dishes. Works really well on steak just added to butter sauce..
