I already have three duvet cover sets that I bought recently for my new king size bed, but I couldn't resist this DJY green bedding set as it looked perfect for my newly painted bedroom.It arrived in a half fabric/half plastic zip-up bag, which is really handy for storing it away neatly in my wardrobe. The colours couldn't have been better - not only is the green the same shade as the bedroom walls, but the thin white stripes match the white woodwork! I don't know about "injecting bohemian charm and fashionable stripes into your bedroom"(!), but the simple design of this duvet set is just right for my minimalist bedroom.I usually buy cotton bedding with a decent thread count, so wasn't sure about this microfibre/polyester set. However, the material is soft and seems good quality - in fact, it even feels a bit like cotton. On the plus side, it should wash well and won't need ironing. The listing says that it's suitable for all seasons, but I had it more in mind for the winter months ahead as cotton bedding can feel a bit cold when you first get into bed.This bedding set has a couple of features that I haven't come across before. One is the corner ties to keep the duvet in place - really handy as I hate it when the corner of the duvet doesn't go right into the corner of the cover. The other is the zip closure, which I also applaud as I hate fiddling around with poppers and buttons - and they also tend to come undone easily. So long as the zip doesn't break, and the set washes well, I would recommend it as well worth the current price of £24.

I’ve always used 100% cotton and so wasn’t sure if I would like the microfibre material, but it has proven comfortable and warm even when its been 3°C in the cool mornings! The king size duvet cover fits our king size duvet perfectly and I really like the zip instead of the buttons to seal the cover.The pillow cases are just slip in and ones and I’ve no complaints on that front. Quality wise the material does feel soft, however, after 3 washes I am already seeing a fair number of loose threads (see my image for an example).The price is OK, but for the thread issue I would expect that for sets have this price so I wouldn’t say this was excellent value by any means. Still, I would be happy to recommend it overall (assuming it lasts at least a year as I would expect).

This is a good, basic polyester bedding set. However, because this is a polyester fabric this does mean that it is basically plastic so no matter how soft it feels (and it does feel soft) it is not particularly breathable. I am also concerned that the label recommends a cold wash and not to tumble dry - seems very unusual. I have prewashed this on a standard 30degree wash and run it through a tumble dryer and it seems to be fine. Your mileage may vary and it is up to you if you follow the included care instructions, especially as going outside of this does mean you may make the product unusable or shorten it's lifespan.I do like that it is double sided as you can choose to have just the plain side facing upwards instead of the fancier stripe pattern. That said there is a texture to the stripe which I found to be fine but may be uncomfortable for some people.I found the fit to be reasonably good on my double duvet - I haven't figured out how to use the internal duvet ties so didn't bother using them. The zipper was a little scratchy but gave a large enough opening and closed up again easily enough. I do appreciate the zipper closure over buttons or press studs as should the duvet get pushed down inside the cover it doesn't bulge out of the cover and is easier to shake back in to place.For what it is this does feel a little pricey (at the time of review it is £25) especially when you consider the fibre used. Maybe if it included a sheet and so became a bedding bale it would be better value.

If you are on the fence, buy this. So far I love it. I have been looking for a fluffy duvet cover and it feels really soft. They held up in the washer and dryer. I did follow the instructions on how to wash and dry. It covers the bed well as expected. Wish they had dark purple colour one though.
