Easy to set. Good and sturdy
5.0 out of 5 stars Great traps
These are fairly large traps, and come suppluied with a ;locking lid & plastic key to unlock.Inside there is a metal rod allowing you the 'thread' poison blocks along it, and there is also a compartment for loose grain based poison. The on the other side there is a space to put a good size trap in place, should you choose to use one.I've just been using the poison, which seems to be working. I like the fact I can lock the lids to these to stop anyone, or even another animal opening them.
4.0 out of 5 stars THE KEY FOR THE BOX IS NOT ABLE TO STAY ON PRODUCT
KEY CANNOT BE KEPT ON BOX
5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy Bait Stations
I liked the large size of these bait stations that will give access to even large rats and they look similar to the ones I have seen professionals use The bait can be threaded on to a steel rod so the vermin can nibble at it but not take it from the trap.My neighbours and I have pets and children so I wanted to prevent any risk to them from the treated bait. These boxes are tamper proof and inaccessible without using the the key supplied and they are tough and weather resistant. They look like they are made to last and can be left in place throughout the seasons..I have placed the two boxes in different parts of my garden.I will leave them undisturbed for a while so the rats can get used to them as they are very wary of anything new in their environment then i will check them on a regular basis to see if the bait has been taken.I think these boxes are qaulity items and a good buy for anyone with a vermin problem and who wants to eradicate them in a safe and secure manner without danger to children or pets .
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value bait boxes - very similar to other boxes I have bought - work very well
At £6.50 each, these are very good value bait boxes.I use these in my chicken run under the laying boxes as the rats like to scuttle under and then steal the eggs. These bait boxes are easy to operate - unlock using the key provided, load the bar with bait blocks, close the lid and lock it and then place it into position.Check the boxes every few weeks to see how much bait is left and repeat. The rats take the bait - it needs to be on the bait bar so they actively chew at it and swallow it, rather than just taking it back to their lair intact. These boxes have a removable plastic arch, which I assume is to deter larger creatures from gaining access to the bait blocks.Always wear plastic gloves when handling both the boxes and the bait and dispose of them afterwards. The bait is obviously poisonous, and by using gloves you protect yourself and also prevent human odour from lingering on the bait box - rats are very intelligent and wary creatures and can detect human scent easily and will avoid the box if they suspect something is strange.Worth mentioning - make sure young children and vulnerable adults cannot gain access to these bait stations.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good practical bait boxes
These are full size rat/mouse boxes which take a sprung trap, bait blocks or poisoned wheat. The box enclose ensures that any poison is kept away from children or larger pets. The boxes have a simple locking mechanism which is opened by a plastic key. I’ve used boxes like these for some years now as unfortunately from time to time we do get rats in the garden. I also have one of these loaded with poison in my garage in case any rodent gets in there as if left alone they can cause significant damage, gnawing through car wires etc. These are good strong boxes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, easy and safe to re-use
We have some unwanted guests visiting our garage and these 2 Tamper-Resistant Rodent Bait Stations have arrived just in time. However, do not make the mistake we did and get the boxes out of the packaging with your bare hands but make sure you use gloves. We handled them with bare hands and we did not catch anything for weeks until we read more about how to use these and gave the boxes a good wash. Besides this hurdle the boxes are easy to use and well designed to keep the harmful stuff away from unintended users. Can be re-used many times and that makes them excellent value. Would definitely recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars These bait stations are effective
2 Tamper-Resistant Rodent Bait Stations - Twin Pack of Heavy Duty Rat BoxesThese rat bait boxes look almost identical to another brand that I use. These boxes can hold rat bait squares threaded on the rod provided, or granules tipped into the two back corner compartments. They can also hold a rat trap in the centre. The boxes are safe to use in the garden and best used with the threaded bait blocks as the granule poison may spill out of the box if the box is knocked over.I have found this type of box effective. I usually smear a bit of peanut butter inside as an additional attraction when I first put the poison blocks inside. Rats are normally very wary of anything new and will probably avoid the box for 2 - 3 days, although baby rats are more curious.Avoid touching the box with bare hands, use disposable polythene etc. gloves etc. when handling as human scent is also a deterrent. One rod is supplied for each box. One key is supplied between the two boxes. Replacement keys are available (I don't know if they are available from this seller).
