5.0 out of 5 stars Large Knock Box
We usually just knock the filter on a mat and put the used coffee pucks in a bowl next to the machine, so this is a welcome upgrade as it also has the bar for actually knocking the portafilter rather than me doing it on a mat. It's actually a bit bigger than I anticipated. It's got a good non-slip pad on the chunky base and a silicone covering over the bar. It's quick and easy to assemble using the two thumb screws into the rod. The stainless steel walls are pretty sturdy and it all seems well made. It all comes in a box.You also get a stainless steel measuring cup, which I didn't really need, but it's nice enough and the markings are very clear.I'm happy with it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good but bulky
Have been needing a knock box to go with my Sage Barista Pro for a while now and this looked a good potentiometer option.Part of the item needs fitting which can be done easily by hand and without any tools. This is the black bar that you knock the portafilter into.Build quality feels good and the box is nice and heavy and there is no fear that you could damage it with a firm knock, or accidentally knock it over. Additionally the bottom is padded to protect your work top. It very much looks the part too as you can see from the photo and nicely matches my machine.Any downsides? The dimensions aren't clearly laid out in the description and as the picture shows, the knockbox is clearly very bulky and does take up a significant footprint. As a result it leaves a big hole where you can see the spent coffee grounds and does look somewhat unsightly.Overall I'm still happy to recommend this but it's just a bit too big for domestic use and there didn't appear to be enough info to inform me of this. Other than that it functions exactly as expected.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid and ready to take the knocks
This knockbox is solidly made from - I think - aluminium, and has a bar across. The size gives it good capacity and means that there is less mess when knocking out. The black finish fits in well with the rest of my coffee gear.
4.0 out of 5 stars Large capacity and looks great!
The Coffee Knock Box has been a fantastic addition to my espresso routine. The large capacity is a game-changer, allowing me to make multiple shots without having to constantly empty it. The sturdy construction feels durable, and the design effectively absorbs the force when knocking out used coffee grounds, keeping my workflow tidy. While I appreciate the large capacity, I have to mention that it is somewhat bulky. It takes up a bit more counter space than I anticipated, which can be a consideration if you have limited space in your kitchen. However, the benefits far outweigh this minor inconvenience.Overall, if you're serious about your espresso making and need a reliable knock box, I highly recommend the Coffee Knock Box. It combines functionality and durability, making cleanup a breeze. Just be prepared for a bit of extra bulk on your countertop!)
1.0 out of 5 stars Huge and didn't work for me
This bin is huge! It dominated our kitchen's counter top in use, as seen against an A4 sheet of paper. It required minimal assembly with a bar to attach to the bin: that's the means of knocking out your coffee grounds. Unhappily, no matter how hard I hit the bar with our coffee holder, the grounds simply failed to leave the holder. Possibly too much flex in the box's bar or possibly properly compacted grounds are too dense. Whichever, even when loosened, the process was messy, with some residue always on the bar itself and on the counter. Not recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly and does the job
I drink both fresh ground coffee and pods, this knock box is perfect for both due to its larger capacity. The knock bar has an outer silicone layer that does actually reduce the noise and helps prevent damage.Basically, it is what it is, a large coffee knock box that does what it's suppose to do, and works perfectly for me.Yes I would recommend.
3.0 out of 5 stars Gocoffun Coffee Knock Box: Good For A Budget Coffee Knock Box
The ScoopThe Gocoffun Coffee Knock Box is a stainless steel accessory designed to catch used coffee grounds from espresso machines. This one has a large capacity, a non-slip base, and a silicone-wrapped knock bar for reduced noise. The SkinnyThis coffee knock box made of black painted stainless steel. It's pretty sturdy and can hold a lot of used coffee grounds before you need to empty it. It's designed to fit different sizes of portafilters, so it's pretty versatile. The knock bar is made of silicone wrapped aluminium rod, which is nice because it's quieter and won't damage your portafilter. It's also easy to take apart and clean by using the two thumb screws. The design is pretty ergonomic – it's easy to knock the coffee grounds out without making a mess. The bottom has non-slip pads, so it won't move around while you're using it. It comes with a measuring cup, which could be handy if you use ground coffee rather than beans. The stainless steel is okay, but it's a bit thinner than I'd like. Thankfully, it fits my 58mm portafilter and catches the coffee puck easily. The base is octagonal, which looks a bit weird with the rest of the design, and when you knock coffee grounds into it when it's empty, it can be quite loud!Overall it’s quite an average build for a budget knock box, I feel..What I Liked• It is compatible with 49/51/54/58mm espresso portafilters.• The knock box can hold a significant amount of coffee grounds before needing to be emptied, although I think they're best left in there until it's full to the brim to deaden the sound!• It’s made from stainless steel.• The anti-slip pad prevents the knock box from moving during use.• The silicone wrapping helps reduce noise when knocking out coffee grounds - except when it’s empty!• The knock bar can be disassembled for easy cleaning. The So-So's• The stainless steel could be slightly thicker for added durability.• Knocking out a coffee puck can still be noisy, even with the silicone-wrapped knock bar. What Didn’t Work For Me• The octagonal non-slip base design looks a little odd to me.Advertiser's Claims Examined"Stainless Steel Coffee Knock Box" - The knock box is made of stainless steel."Large Capacity" - It can hold a significant amount of coffee grounds."Non-Slip Bottom" - It has an octagonal anti-slip pad on the bottom."Silicone-wrapped knock bar" - The knock bar is covered in silicone for noise reduction and to protect the portafilter."Ergonomic Design" - The curved oblique design helps prevent splashing.
Great for a coffee shop
This was a bit big for my kitchen but is well built and looks nice. If I owned my own coffee shop this would be the perfect size for the morning rush. Make sure you measure before you buy!
Weighted bottom
Review for: Gocoffun Coffee Knock Box, Large Capacity Espresso Knock Box with Non-Slip Base, Coffee Measuring Cup,CoThis is a good solid knockbox. I owned an espresso bar and had a knockbox that was not nearly as nice as this one. This actually has a larger capacity than the old one - that was a wooden box receptacle with a stainless liner, much lower than this one. This one has a weighted bottom so that should help hold it in place, as well as the rubberized bottom. The weak part of my last knockbox was the bar, it bent and the bolts loosened up over time - but of course that was in a coffeehouse so it was getting a lot more use than a home system ever will.Only time will tell if this bar is going to hold up.As a Vine reviewer I try to provide good information. My scale:Most things will start at 4 stars. It gets that extra star only if it is outstanding. It loses stars for issues- bad sizing, poor quality. One star if is is not suitable for purpose or for gross misrepresentation.
Great design
This Gocoffun coffee knot box has some great features. The brushed nickel stainless steel resists rust and scuffing. The wide opening makes knocking the puck out without spilling. The large knock bar is thick across the entire opening and acts as a shock absorber. There are many good features in this knock box, but the thick rubber absorber on the bottom sets this knock box apart from most others. It prevents movement and reduces noise. I highly recommend it.
Sturdy and practical
This knock box is nice and sturdy. I had a similar shaped one where the rod was rubber with a metal insert that didn't extend the whole length, and it broke. This one is designed and built better. It's tough. The bucket is nice and large, but the whole thing takes less place on my counter than the rectangular boxes that are attached to the tamping stations.
Bigger than expected
Bigger is not always better but it certainly works here. Perhaps I did not look too closely before ordering but the knock box was certainly larger than I expected. I would say it can definitely hold tens of brews if you're pulling double espresso shots. The build itself is sturdy and it seems bulletproof enough that it will be around for the foreseeable future.
