5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Mobile WiFi Box..
Excellent.. Whole process 1st class.. Device is fantastic, takes absolutely ANY network sim card,(most devices with sim cards don't work on some non brand named networks/piggybacking networks),Battery life is good,I leave it plugged in and can connect to an amazingly large amount of other devices, signal and reception are great..So simple, quick and easy to set up and use 1st time : Put SIM in, turn on and that's it, just connect devices WiFi with password and done..I have a unlimited data Smarty sim in mine,£20 a month and not a problem,ever..SIM came free with box.. I Have a ZTE phone,it's brilliant, so opted for this ZTE WiFi box and no regrets!!!! 100% recommend, well worth it..Doesn't have any information with it so no app to manage it on or anything, which would of been a great thing to have but as far as I have been able to find out, there isn't one, which is a pity, but not a major issue..Doesn't heat up..
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Lifesaver
I needed a mobile hotspot that allowed multiple devices to connect at once in a hurry as my internet went off at 7am on Saturday morning and I was scheduled to work from home that evening and my son was on call for his Tech Support job. No way we could have worked without internet and as our ISP advised it was an infrastructure fault and would not be fixed for several days it was a moment of sheer panic (finally got our internet back Tuesday at 5pm).This little device certainly came in clutch and proved surprisingly powerful. We live in a two bedroom terraced house built in 1905 so has substantial walls and floors/ceilings. Set this up in my sons room and we had no issue connecting his laptop and desktop PC, my laptop and the husband's desktop. This allowed my husband to stream films whilst I worked, allowed me to take and make phone calls over VOIP and dial in to the office server and perform all my tasks, all whilst my son did whatever he was doing online whilst waiting for a work call. The connection to the devices was simple and strong with little to no drop out. We used the included SIM card and adding unlimited data was quick, easy and surprisingly cheap. Signal strength on the network for our area was good and easily coped with everything we were doing.Wish I had got one before now for when we go on holiday as hotel wifi can be notoriously patchy. Now we have this little device that is never going to be a problem again. Even better we are going to keep this charged with data and make sure the battery is charged then if there is a power cut we can still connect devices and get online quickly and easily (providing they have charge of course).Don't wait for the worst to happen to you (like it did to us) be prepared!
4.0 out of 5 stars A decent portable Wi-Fi router, with some flaws
I bought this to go on holiday with when we were outside of EU roaming and wanted to use local SIM cards. It was good, got a good signal once the sim was registered into the network. Very addictive mole to use - literally put the card on and turn it on and you’re away. The flaw is the SIM card slot - you would expect to push the card in and feel it ‘click’ but that mechanism either isn’t present or doesn’t work so the SIM card was forever coming away from the contact and logging off. I fixed it easily with some sellotape too strap the sim cover down and had no further issues - even when carrying it around in my jeans pocket when we were out. I can’t remember what the box says about the battery life, but I think we got about 8 hours out of it when in a decent signal area. It takes a couple of hours to fully recharge, so just left it plugged in when I’m out accommodation and used battery only when out and about. Overall this is good and I will use it again on future travels.
1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother.
The Bolo listing claims that this comes with a quick start guide, and the warranty card. I got neither, unless they are referring to the included QR code that takes you to a site of instructions. A site that kept crashing long before i could find anything in English. And while i'm not a complete noob with these kind of devices, i would still appreciate some basic instructions for this unit..I then tried the web in general, and i think i used every combination of words, in several search engines, as well as looking at a couple of ''Instruction Manuals for free'' kind of websites, but it's like this particular model doesn't exist. All of it's siblings exist, and there's plenty of sites trying to sell this version to me. But any kind of instructions? Good luck..Even which way around the SIM card goes in feels a little like they tried to catch me out. Because, in anything other than the brightest of direct lights, the usual logo of a square with a corner missing is not as obvious as usual..And printing all of the passwords you'll need for set up UNDER where the battery goes? If you do buy this, take a quick photo of those for reference before you put the battery in. That'll make sense very quickly..I was looking forward to this arriving. After less than an hour i couldn't wait to get rid of it. But after some more trial and error i did eventually get this up and running..For a while i thought that the connection problems might be from Smarty overhauling their system at the moment. But i don't think it's just that. The reason i chose this ZTE model was because i already have a ZTE internet dongle. It cost a third of what this does, and i also have a Smarty Sim in that. While it doesn't do Wi-Fi, and it's certainly not perfect at the one thing it does do, that £10 (ish) dongle works a lot better than this does on one computer at a time..And any claims that this can handle 32 devices are nothing short of fantasy. This struggles at a grindingly slow speed on just one device. The GUI shows the speeds, and this constantly flickers between various numbers and zero. But at one point when it was working, that speed registered at less than a single kilobit (0.8) per second. Not megabit, kilobit. I think that would have been humiliatingly slow even in 1985. And that's when it WAS working, and plugged directly into a desktop computer. I didn't bother to check the Wi-Fi stats later. In fairness, it's Wi-Fi did function, but if you are wanting to stream anything then forget it..And before you go thinking that maybe there's just bad service where i am, it's not that. The reason the i use these kind of things is because regular internet here is patchy at best, but the phone masts less than 30 yards from my home provide solid coverage..As i said before, i know Smarty are going through some changes at the moment. But my old ZTE dongle with a Smarty Sim is working better than this, as are my phones with Smarty Sims in them as well. I think the problem is this device. And if it struggles with a signal 30 yards from the phone masts, then what good will it be for you on your camping trip or whatever?.

Hotspot to go
