4.0 out of 5 stars Works well..
The CarPlay screen was simple to connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth, took seconds. The bracket for holding the screen is very versatile in the positions it can go in, with an extending arm and rotating joints. The bracket itself attaches to the car by a sucker, whether that’s to the windscreen or a flat surface. In my case ( Skoda Citigo ), the windscreen is set too far forward to attach to, plus the dashboard surface is dimpled so the sucker won’t stick there. In the end I opted to fasten the sucker to the underside of the dash just below the radio. The set up is a tad low but acceptable. I’ve added photos to demonstrate, sorry they aren’t brilliant. The CarPlay screen is powered by a lead that fits into a cigarette lighter socket at one end and a Jack plug at the other. This is why I dropped it a star, I would have preferred USB connections. There are other leads, one is a lead with Jack plugs at each end to connect the CarPlay screen to the radio so the radio’s speakers can be used, although the CarPlay does have it’s own speaker. There is also an option for a rear camera to be fitted but that is an extra to be bought separately.Up to now the CarPlay connects easily when the ignition is turned on and hasn’t lost connection at all yet.. must admit as I have to make the review it’s early days yet..If it had of been USB connected, I would probably have given it 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Add Apple Car play/Android Auto to any vehicle
The media could not be loaded. This is a 7 inch touch screen that can be added to any vehicle to add Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It comes with the screen, the windscreen mount, a power cable, an aux cable and a cable to connect a reversing camera (sold separately). The device is very easy to set up and use and can be connected to either via USB cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth. There are various options including a graphic equalizer to adjust your sound.Screen Mirroring - There is this option but this requires a separate app and a USB connection. On Android you can select options on the Akofic screen but for Apple you cannot (only for the screen mirroring - you can select options for Apple Carplay on the Akofic device).Audio is provided either by its inbuilt speaker (not very loud), via FM transmitter or via the aux cable. In testing the transmitter option seemed to be a bit louder but can be prone to interference whereas the aux option works fine but you do have the addition of the extra cable for that. The screen looks OK, it isn't the brightest or most vibrant of screens but it does work and does the job. The touchscreen seems to be an older version and you seem to need to add a bit of pressure at times (especially in the corners) for it to work, but this isn't a massive problem as you can also use voice commands for most options through the auto apps. The windscreen mount is functional but it isn't a premium item, there is some sway and wobble especially if fully extended, but you can swap this out as it is a universal ball mount. Some negatives about this, the wires stick out of the side (see video) this kind of makes it look untidy and messy unlike the images on the page which show it powered on with no visible wires. It needs at least 1 wire in at all times as it needs to be powered. The power plug also has no USB passthrough. You will want to remove this when you are not in the car as it will attack opportunists, removal is not the easiest, personally I simply unscrew where it attaches to the ball mount, remember that you need to reinstall and plug it back in every time you want to use it. You can of course leave it in but I wouldn't recommend it.This device also takes about 15 to 20 seconds to boot up into a useable state each time you turn your ignition on. It can boot up quicker to the home screen within about 5 seconds but for most people they will want it to connect to their phone to use the carplay/Auto option and for this it can take around 20 seconds (see video). All in all for under £60 (at the time of reviewing) this is a good little device to add the Apple Carplay or Android Auto option to your car, add to this that this can be done wirelessly (to the phone) is and added bonus. If you can live with the wires sticking out of the side, and having to remove/re-install it, and the long boot up time then this is a good starter device, maybe add it to a work van or something!
