4.0 out of 5 stars good smart tv ideal for bedroom or office
This Panasonic TV with Bolo's Fire TV built in was great for the office and I love the Fire TV being integrated so I don't have to waste a HDMI port for the stick. It’s a small size at 32" which is why I would say it’s good for the home office or a bedroom and it comes with a nice-looking stand with a centre attachment to the TV and has a good gap to the underside of the TV in case you prefer to use the power button under there. The power cable is an OK length at 1.5m but if you want to wall mount it etc consider getting a longer cable. In the back you have a TV aerial, network cable and HDMI connection with which the cables would point straight out the back (not good for wall mounting) and then in the side of the chunking bottom part you have side accessible (much better for wall mounting) HDMI, USB, Headphone and Digital Audio ports plus a very exposed card slot which I think needs a cover as very few people actually use it.The back is quite chunky at the bottom so not great for wall mounting as it does stick off the wall 8cm and ive had bigger TV's that stick off the wall far less. The picture quality is very good, HD programmes display nice and clear with no movement blur and good blacks. It’s a shame it’s not 4K as by now most TVs are and for the price I think it should be, but it is less noticeable on this small screen size so not as important. It comes with a nice remote that has buttons for Prime and Netflix (wish it had Disney too) and you can use it as an Alexa voice control as well which is handy. Having the fire TV built in means no more stick in the back and it has all the features built in so you can install all your TV streaming apps etc no problem.Overall, for £292.34 it’s a bit expensive if you base it on the size but I have noticed that anything below 42" is now considered a specialist size so prices tend to be quite high on a per inch basis. If its 32" you want, then this is a good TV and having Fire TV built it makes it stand out above the rest.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good bit of kit
This is a Panasonic television with Bolo Fire built in, and it arrives very well-packaged in a branded cardboard box, so it’s a good idea to be in for the delivery.I really like this. It is the 32” version, which is an ideal size for the room I want it for; I don’t like the massive screens where you can see the individual pores in people’s skin. The television feels well-made and it looks great. It is surprisingly lightweight, and I was able to move it around and set up with no issues, despite being female and having golfers’ elbow in both arms. It comes with its own stand, which is sleek and modern, but also sturdy. You do have the option to wall-mount the television, but it will require the purchase of a separate mount and I don’t think it will sit sufficiently flush to the wall for most people, as it’s quite wide at the base. The picture quality and sound are both excellent. The colours are true to life and there’s a real depth to the black, which is extremely noticeable compared to the higher quality but older television that this is replacing. The built-in Fire is a real bonus, and it streams apps with no issues at all. The remote is nicely laid out and very responsive, but you also have voice control if you’d rather use that. It can be connected to your smart home devices, it does have a game mode, and you can connect USB drives for music, photos and videos.Unless I’m missing something obvious (which is entirely possible), it looks as though you still need an aerial for live television; I didn’t realise this until my mum was trying to use it. I’m sure that I didn’t need that when I was using just a Fire stick, so I will continue to investigate and update this review if I find anything else out.At the time of writing this review, the cost is £249.00, reduced from £299.99, and it’s worth every penny. Happy to recommend.
1.0 out of 5 stars Slow frustrating and a waste of time.
Slow response to any command. Channel changing, watching either prime, internet or freeview. Slow. It's about four feet from my router but it's just so slow to do anything. I couldn't recommend it.
2.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming
While I had high hopes for this smart TV, unfortunately it didn't quite meet my expectations in a few areas. The picture quality was sub-average. While the picture appeared relatively clear, the colour saturation was very muted and grey-ish even at the best of times. I tried altering various settings, including disabling the automatically enable eco mode, without any meaningful results.Despite updating the operating system multiple times, the software used by the TV was often sluggish and slow to respond. Some of the menus were illogical; for example, the settings surrounding the picture was across two menus. You can't access the advanced picture settings from the same menu as the standard picture settings. The sound quality was also disappointing; it is fairly muddy and uninspiring.Overall, I can't really recommend this TV in its current state. I have previously purchased budget TVs that have been much better products overall, despite being much older.
3.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t live up to expectation
I picked this TV as 40” is the maximum screen size I can go to in my living room and I’ve always valued Panasonic as a quality brand. I watch an even mix of live terrestrial TV and streaming services. While the streaming (smart TV) aspect of this model seems very good and familiar with the Fire TV UI, the live TV section is unusable for me. I had to scan for channels several times before it would pick up on the all (with any HD channels missing in the first few scans) and once it had picked them all up it didn’t seem to get enough signal to display them. This is strange as the 15 year old Sony smart TV it was to replace had no issue tuning into these channels. I know you can watch TV live over the streaming services but I find this clunky for channel surfing and not all channels are available. Picture and sound quality isn’t just as good as the older TV either.
