4.0 out of 5 stars Cleans well
This Delphis non-bio laundry detergent comes in a hard 700 ml plastic bottle with a flip-top lid. I’m not overly keen on the bottle as the liquid is quite runny and comes out quickly; I find completely removing the lid before use makes it easier to pour without getting it everywhere. It recommends using 20 ml for lightly soiled laundry, 40 ml for medium soiled, and 60 ml for heavily soiled, so if your laundry is always heavily soiled, you'll only get (just short of) 12 washes rather than the 35 washes as advertised. The liquid smells lovely in the bottle (fresh and floral), but the scent transfer to the laundry is only very subtle — great if you don’t like your clothes, etc. overly scented. It does wash really well for a non-bio though. I've got sensitive, eczema-prone skin, and it hasn't caused me any irritation or flare-ups.Overall, I'm pleased with it and would recommend. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful.
5.0 out of 5 stars non bio laundry detergent
This non-bio laundry detergent comes in a hard plastic HDPE bottle (recyclable, plastic type 2). I appreciate that the bottle is recyclable, and the fact that bottle is hard plastic makes it easier to decant and pour out of the bottle without it being squidged under the pressure of my grip, so the bottle is convenient to use.It has a flip top lid with a round hole which you can use to decant, or unscrew the top and pour it directly from the bottle top.The instructions say to use 20ml for a light soil, 40ml for a medium soil and 60ml for a heavy soil. It doesn't come with a measuring cup so you'll need to get that separately. It would have been nice if it was included. The scent - to me it smells like a very generic "laundry detergent" smell: clean, fresh, sweet. The smell reminds me of sweets a little. It doesn't smell to me like "fresh blossom" - it's not really floral. But I do think it could work in a unisex way since it's not particularly flowery and girly. In use, it works well leaving my clothes feeling clean and smelling fresh. Honestly, I can't really tell the difference between this and my usual more affordable non bio laundry detergent. Both seem to work equally well. The bottle I got had a best before date on it for 6 months from the date of arrival.
3.0 out of 5 stars Low foaming and low scent
I really wanted to like this laundry detergent as we do a lot of washing in this household (family of four - two young children) and I prefer products that are enthusiastically environmentally friendly. The bottle states 35 washes but this only applies if you're using the dose recommended for lightly soiled items. I always default to heavily soiled items owing to the afore-mentioned young children! I also live in a very hard water area and whilst the bottle says water hardness doesn't affect dosing, I do find that even with the usual Calgon tablet, I need to use a higher dose size to compensate. The product arrives in a bottle akin to a shampoo bottle, with a small cap and a little hole to squirt the liquid out. The liquid is very runny, almost all of it had slid under the liquid detergent flap and down the back of the drawer before I'd finished setting the machine up. I would prefer a higher viscosity laundry detergent as this feels watered down. What threw me is the lack of bubbles during the cycle and minimal product fragrance. I'm assuming ingredients that add foam and strong scent are not a priority for an eco-friendly detergent, which takes some getting used to. There's no denying the clothes came out clean, stain free and fresh smelling. At £7.50 for a bottle which contains just under 12 washes for the dose I need, it won't be economical for me to continue to buy this (not when the supermarket own brand powder costs £4.75 for around 20 washes). I prefer a bit more of a scent too.For someone who does less laundry and prefers low-scent then this is a great option, and whilst I have enjoyed trialling it, it really isn't for me long term.
4.0 out of 5 stars More like scented water but cleans really well
The main thing to take into consideration here is how much of a good (or bad) job the detergent actually does at cleaning clothes. In this case, it does the job really well and I have tested it with a few different levels of dirty clothing - including food stained clothes. For this reason I am super happy with the detergent. It isn't a strong floral smell, but it does smell nice. I personally would like it a little stronger, but it does the job. However, it is a LOT more like the consistency of water compared to other detergents. It isn't a ''make or break'' issue, but for me I am not a huge fan and is a bit of a pain when filling the cap as it is a faster flowing liquid.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not for me
I am really dissapointed,i bought the detergent and conditioner because i wanted to try another natural product. The detergent is a white very watery liquid with a very faint smell and the softner is a bit thicker see through liquid smells like nothing may as well be water.I dont like strong smells but i like fresh washing so this isnt for me.Will have to keep searching for something else 😩
