4.0 out of 5 stars Good
This seems to be so far so good. I don't really get the chance to see long term results as I have used it on foster dogs who come into my care and they are not usually with me for long before they are adopted so it's hard to say how Ewell it works over the longer term but they don't seem to mind me using it on them
5.0 out of 5 stars Time will tell!
I’d like to say that using this gel on our dogs is as easy and stress free as the advert suggests. Unfortunately, in the case of our dogs nothing that we’ve tried has been easy. They both hate the process of teeth cleaning - using a brush and toothpaste is completely out of the question and so far the only thing I’ve been able to do is to use toothpaste that you rub on that teeth. This gel makes things marginally easier than that and it’s quicker. I’m hoping the claim that after a few drops inside of their mouths means that the gel gets spread around when they start licking their lips. It’s much too early to comment on the success of the cleaning itself, but I can say that squeezing a couple of drops into their mouths, last thing at night, is a somewhat less traumatic experience than anything else I’ve tried (and by that I mean, traumatic for me, as well as them!!)
3.0 out of 5 stars Good gel for teeth, but scent doesn't last long
Let me start by saying that despite all of the dental sticks, brushes and gels I've used, I've still found that proper professional help is the only way to maintain my dog's teeth. However, as something to use every few days, gels like this can help and certainly don't do any harm. I used this with a finger brush on his teeth (always a challenge) and it applied quite quickly though I found it a bit too loose.. The scent is subtle and doesn't last long which are my main issues, but as a regular measure just to keep an eye on your dog's teeth it can be useful. Ultimately, you never really get the opportunity to give your dog's teeth a REAL scrub whatever you use so there is a limit to what you can achieve.
4.0 out of 5 stars time will tell!
All my dogs hate having their teeth cleaned - its a battle to do them properly and Ive tried so many different products - pasts, powders, water additives... so this is my next test! My oldest dog has awful breath and his teeth look horrible - he was my first victim to try! He doesnt seem to mind it (thought he was being offered a treat!) and accepted me putting it in his mouth... time will tell now if it has any effects. The youngest dog also agreed to try some. Clearly it must taste 'ok' and its easier than trying to get a toothbrush in their mouth... so fingers crossed this will work!
5.0 out of 5 stars My dog doesn't mind it
My dog doesn't seem to mind this dental gel and it's great that it clings to the teeth and gums to do its work. He normally has his teeth brushed with dog toothpaste, so I did the same with this. He's always had his teeth brushed regularly at home so is used to it, and they are in great condition for his age so it's definitely something worth doing.
4.0 out of 5 stars One cats loves it, one cat can't stand it!
It's so hard to review things like this, as one can never quite know if your own pets will tolerate it, let alone like it! In my case, the older of my 2 cats absolutely won't have it - she'll run a mile. The younger cat seems to absolutely love the flavour or the effect or something, as he will actively seek me out if I pick it up when he's in the room! For him, his breath really does get much fresher. So if you can persuade your cat to use it, it's clearly effective, but I doubt there's much the manufacturer can do about some pets just not being into it!
2.0 out of 5 stars Not sure what this is meant to do really
My dogs teeth aren't what they were and he hates brushing so we thought to try this. Bottle has plenty of info and it's easy to apply (in theory). Overall it doesn't doo much, imagine if you applied a gel to your own teeth with no brushing - it helped his breath (for a while) but the teeth remained exactly as dirty as before.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not confident I’m applying it correctly.
The instructions were basic (just add one or two drops each side) which, on the one hand makes it seem easy to apply. However, I don’t know if it matters too much on whether you add to front or back teeth. Would have appreciated a bit more guidance.
