4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Compact Inflator
These are fantastic little devices to take on cycle rides, along with a spare inner tube - along with some self-adhesive patches in case you get more than one puncture. Screw in a CO2 cannister until you feel / hear it pierce the top, then unscrew the valve to let the CO2 out, and into the tyre / inner tube.I think this one is really good value - I was a bit dubious of the valve, as my other one is pushed on to the inner tube valve to release the air, but this also works fine. One thing to be careful of - which isn't clear in the product photos, if you haven't used one of these before, that the whole of the cannister gets freezing (frost forms on it) cold - enough to burn / give you frostbite. Don't touch any of the cannister when in use - this isn't clear in the photos. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars, and not 5, is that the little insulated sleeve feels like it will fall apart over time, but otherwise I'm really happy with it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works as expected. Convenience tool
This works well and inflated my tyre when tested. It’s for convenience really. We do have perfectly good pumps but this can do a lot of the leg work very quickly so why not. Gas should only be screwed on when needed that way you'll have it when you need it. Any gas leakage may otherwise leave you without air. It takes up very littles pace and is very light.
4.0 out of 5 stars Decent CO2 pump
This worked fine - and inflated is presta valve tubeless tyre with no issues.Listing and instructions state that you open the tap 90 degrees to "turn on". I found it actually needed unscrewing a couple of turns: not a problem, just noting for info. The machining is decent and I had very little gas leak on using it.The neoprene sleeve is great for preventing the usual cold burns from the expanding gas. Certainly a step up from my usual solution of a 3 inch length of old inner tube. The tap gives additional control, but the only issue is that it is slightly larger than less sophisticated CO2 pumps and thus will take up more room in your back pocket or under seat tool bag. Despite this, this type of pump is a lot easier to carry and use on a ride than a traditional mechanical pump
5.0 out of 5 stars Decent quality, works well.
Picked this up for my road bike, as the last thing you want in winter, is to be stuck in a layby fruitlessly inflating your tires with a pump in the pouring rain! This looks remarkably similar, if not identical to a bigger-brand 'pro' bike tool manufacturer's alternative - and at a vastly lower price. This seems to work just as well and has a god quality seal, to avoid any leakage. Seems like a good purchase for this price.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worked fine here this morning. Have heard others had issues with this design though.
Before we begin, I got this item at zero cost through the Vine programme, that doesn't mean it gets a positive review though. User reviews are important, they're genuinely useful to buyers and we should use them, so here comes an honest one.In the box you get the CO2 adapter head and a neoprene body sleeve.Build quality seems pretty good. It's well produced and sized. The threads are well machined. Neoprene sleeve feels robust enough for use too.In use (and yes I did test this this morning) it readily accepts a CO2 cartridge/bottle and you have the ability to govern the gas flow. The valve threads are well machined with a slip ring to tighten down on your tyre valve stem easily enough, at least with the Shrader valves I have. Everything has a good tactile feel to it. The neoprene sleeve goes around the CO2 cartridge and stop your fingers from freezing to it when pressure is released when inflating your tyre.I have heard of folk having issues with exact clones of this design however where the gas has vented everywhere but into the tyre. All I can say is mine worked fine this morning. I did make sure the rubber gasket was centralised beforehand if that helps.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Works well. Very small profile, so ideal for packing in a bum bag or tool kit. Great value accessory for you bike.
4.0 out of 5 stars My unit did not ship with the sleeve
I tested this product out on my mountain bike tire and it works well enough but my unit did not come with the gas sleeve to prevent freeze burns, I found that the unit screws down well enough onto cartridges but I would suggest not piercing the unit until needed as the gas shut off valve does leak ever so slightly on mine. the weight is very low and would be a great race tool where time using a conventional pump would be a hinderance. Overall a good little tool provided you don't expect it to hold pressure on a pierced cartridge.
