This is not quite what I understood it to be, which would have been a patching agent for holes. It is more like a thick, rubber solution glue, and should be used in much the same way. It’s great, provided that you make sure that everything is absolutely as clean as you can make it, so that the sealant adheres directly to a clean and detritus-free surface. The loss of a star is down to the atrocious pot. The lid, once removed, is pointless, as it is not even a friction fit. It just sits on the pot sparely, waiting to fall off. The inner lid ought to be good, but that’s also badly thought-through. When you first pull it out, it takes quite a bit of levering, as it actually fits within the neck in an extremely airtight fashion; which is exactly the reason it doesn’t go back on properly, as you necessarily trap air under the lid, so when you push the lid down, the trapped air becomes pressurised, and pushes back. Even trying to hold one side of the lid inward, while pressing down, has no effect, meaning that the main lid is a waste of space and the sealing lid half-heartedly blocks the main aperture in a less-than-convincing manner. For shame.

When I saw this product I was keen to try it's effectiveness at stopping leaks. I've been dealing with several small floods every time it rains recently due to a leak around the glazing in my GRP Composite front door. The inside of the door is white so I didn't think it could hurt it's appearance if I painted a clear coating over the leaky areas.The sealant is supplied in a 300g plastic tub which also includes a small handy applicator brush. Application was simple enough, having first cleaned and dried the affected area it was simply a case of brushing the sealant around the problem areas.Unfortunately the box lacks any drying times or clean-up instructions but here's what I've observed. Drying does depend on the warmth of the area being treated and this can be sped-up by using a hair dryer to start the curing process. I did allow 24 hours between coats although it does dry much quicker than that.So far I've painted two coats round the glazing strips in my front door and it does definitely dry clear. To be honest it's difficult to tell I've even used it, other than if I rub my fingers over the treated area it feels smooth and silky to the touch.Clean-up was a little guess work but easier than expected, I squirted some washing up liquid in the sink and just agitated the brush in it for a few seconds before rinsing off with warm water.So the golden question.., did it work? Well yes, so far no more leaks, but only time will tell if it's truly permanent.In conclusion, it's a useful product by my only small negative comment is the stupid lid which cannot be screwed back on once you've removed the seal, it just rests on the pot. It does have a push-on inner lid (photo), but this is quite easy to remove and therefore likely to come off if the can is knocked over. A screw on lid would be better for two reasons, (1) to prevent spills and (2) to prevent the product from drying out. I have deducted 1 star for that reason.

This clear waterproof sealant comes in a plastic tub complete with a small sized brush suitable for cracks and between grouting but to cover larger areas around the home quickly it may be necessary to use a broader brush of your own. As it prevents water from soaking in the area covered by it, mold and bacteria cannot grow. I am using it to cover the grouting all around my bathroom and it seems to be working very well.The product is also suitable for outdoor use but owing to the wet and damp weather I cannot get to use it on my shed roof. There are a few small leaks through a few screwed joints and I need to create water seals around these areas. I may have to wait for the Spring to have this done, but fairly sure this will do a good job.As this works on wood, anyone putting up a nice new garden fence may wish to purchase a few pots of this and paint them over thus hopefully extending the life of the fence for a good many years.Does what it should and is a great price for 300g.

This was used on both wood and plastic surfaces out in my garden. It has not formed a waterproof protective coating as described, it just flaked up and disintegrated when I touched it with my finger a couple of days later. I’ve had to remove it completely and will replace with normal silicone sealant.
