5.0 out of 5 stars Love it. Dbt is great for adhd
Fantastic book. Had a lot of nice relatable stories and also dbt which I have some knowledge about already. Has a great little section that isn’t too daunting to write in and also lots of positive things about adhd as a diagnosis. I love how positive this book is about adhd and how it can be a strength. Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A really useful handbook
I had never previously heard of DBT so it was really useful to read about this. I particularly l liked the section on long-term wellness. It brings home the importance of taking everyday steps to optimise the chances of being able to cope with what can, at times, be a debilitating condition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
As someone who was never tested as a child for adhd as the educational system in the 90’s didn’t want to “label me” and at the age of 35 I’m currently waiting to be tested I found this book to be helpful especially the workbook element. I also never knew some of the myths so that so nice to see some of those
Amazing resource
This book is an amazing resource for any woman - or male, to read when they have received their adhd diagnosis. As a female who was diagnosed later in life, I have learned so much from this workbook. It made me realize how amazing I am, how I can increase my own awareness of myself and what/who/how I can avil of when I notice my ADHD isn't as controlled as it usually is.Thriving Women with ADHD is absolutely a book I think everyone should read. It can help you to be the best version of yourself, give you more confidence in what you do and the person you are and the space you claim. There are a lot of valuable skills and resources within. This book that anyone and everyone can avil of. And as a person with ADHD, it was honestly eye opening to a more calm, and peaceful way of living, communicating, thinking and breathing.
Fantastic Read for women who have ADHD.
Thriving Women with ADHD is a groundbreaking read that addresses a crucial, often overlooked aspect of ADHD: its impact on women. This book is a beacon for those who have long felt misunderstood or misdiagnosed, offering a comprehensive approach to managing ADHD through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques tailored specifically for women. From the outset, this book shines a light on the subtle ways ADHD presents differently in women compared to men. Many women with ADHD face a delayed diagnosis, often due to their symptoms being masked by coping strategies or misattributed to other issues. The authors deftly highlight these discrepancies, offering validation and understanding that many women have been seeking for years. One of the most compelling features of Thriving Women with ADHD is its exploration of how hormonal fluctuations influence ADHD symptoms. This nuanced perspective recognizes that women’s ADHD experiences are not static but can vary with menstrual cycles, pregnancy, and menopause. By integrating this aspect into the discussion, the book provides a more holistic view of ADHD and its management. The workbook's practical approach is grounded in DBT, a well-established therapeutic method known for its effectiveness in emotional regulation and coping skills. The exercises are straightforward and user-friendly, making it accessible for readers at various stages of their ADHD journey. Each section is designed to help readers enhance their executive functioning, boost emotional intelligence, and embrace their neurodiversity. What makes this book stand out is its celebration of neurodiversity. It encourages readers to view their ADHD not as a deficit but as a unique trait that can be harnessed for personal growth. This positive and empowering perspective is both refreshing and motivating. In summary, Thriving Women with ADHD is a valuable resource that fills a significant gap in ADHD literature. It offers a compassionate and practical guide for women seeking to understand and manage their ADHD in a way that acknowledges their unique experiences and challenges. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been managing ADHD for years, this book is a worthwhile read that promises to transform your approach to living with ADHD.
Excellent practical guide
An accessible set of practical tips and techniques for helping those with ADHD live their fullest lives. As a mother of a recently diagnosed daughter, this book provides really helpful insight as well as some DBT techniques that will undoubtedly help us both.
Excellent resource!! Highly recommend!!
I felt like this book was written about myself! It is written beautifully and in a way to help women understand the importance of learning how their brain works and knowing there is nothing wrong with them as they may have believed for so much of their lives. This book empowers women to understand their neurotype and ultimately take charge of their lives. I wish I had this book to read when I realised I had and was diagnosed with ADHD. I think everyone should read it and share it with their friends ADHD or not, it will benefit everyone.
