5.0 out of 5 stars Great book

E.K. · September 29, 2024

This book is well written. I enjoyed it immensely and had trouble putting it down. Great mesh of personalities in the main characters. I love that it shows that even smart, well-off people can make mistakes and have issues with various substances and how they deal with it.The mysteries they solved were interesting and surprising. I really enjoyed this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars pretty darn good

The characters are mysterious but becoming more known as the book progresses. Lots of action maybe too many different cases going on simultaneously but well written and mostly believable. Interesting romantic tension and realistic friendships

5.0 out of 5 stars twists and turns

Entertaining with loads of twists and turns. The characters are interesting and well developed. I’m excited to read the next book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars I’ve been waiting for this book for years!

Excellent! Whimsical, compelling and addictive. Fluid combinations of genres. Can’t wait until January 2025 for the next book so that I can keep up with these very interesting characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lacking

a. · October 10, 2024

It has no depth. All the characters and subplots seemed shallow. The main characters are not fully developed and remain caricatures rather than fully developed members. The crime solutions are without development, they just seem to happen. The attempt to create an aura of mystery around Holmes, Poe, and Maple fell flat. I expected more.

5.0 out of 5 stars happy, sad, dangerous, mysterious

This had all of the above. It was a good book and I would recommend it.extremely smart investigators, not silly as some are. It still left you wondering what their stories are.

4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable reading

This is a book with a very odd set of primary characters who get entangled in one odd case after another. It is fun to see how it all works out.

5.0 out of 5 stars refreshing

As an avid mystery reader I was finding myself underwhelmed. I saw this offering and decided to give it a spin. What a wonderful read! It touched all the emotions, had plenty of surprises and was hard to put down. I look forward to more of the same.

I think I am hooked!

Just started this book and was a little hesitant to continue while reading the early pages; however, as I continued, I started to get a feel for the characters and am truly looking forward to exploring further. Thank you. It looks like a capturing and fun read!

Exciting Book

This was a really good read. Good story and good characters.

Furioser Auftakt, danach eher wie eine Kurzgeschichtensammlung

D.Z. · April 14, 2024

an engaging read

This is a book I wish went on for much longer. Despite a few awkward passages, most of the book was quite engaging and riveting, although I wish the authors would have expanded on the process of deduction more. I would definitely like to see a sequel or even a book series, as the idea of the three detectives is a very interesting one.

Interesting premise.
