I discovered this book when subbing for a middle school art teacher. Holmes wrote it specifically for teachers and students, but is easily used in a non-school environment. At that time, I was personally exploring drawing for relaxation at home. I paged through the book and saw that it would work well for me at home. And it sure did! My drawing skills improved incredibly! It helped me as a teacher too because I used the lessons when I had to teach every subject to my 6th graders, including art! I went on to buy a few more books in this series. I'm retired now, but I use them with my grandchildren.
