“An ideal way to introduce children to the magic of music—delightful, charming, wonderfully entertaining, beautifully illustrated.”—Gerard Schwarz, Music Director, the All-Star Orchestra

Discover what a symphony is. Who Beethoven was. What happens when a conductor takes the podium and faces of the orchestra. And when you should and shouldn’t clap.
Here is a unique, interactive introduction to the world of classical music, presenting one of the most famous symphonies ever written, by one the most famous composers who ever lived.

With its 19-button sound panel, you’ll hear the different parts and voices of the music—the beginning of Symphony No. 5, the melody, the harmony, the sounds made by a violin, a viola, a cello, a double bass, and more. And you can even sing along.

Note to parents: The secret to raising a child to love and appreciate classical music isn’t a secret at all. You just need to listen with your child and be a willing explorer. Talk about what you hear. Marvel at the sounds. Try to identify the instruments—and have fun with it!

What a fantastic book to get my 2.5 year old to further explore his passion for music. We don't do screen time so books especially interactive books are a real treat for him. This is both enjoyable and educational. Bravo

This is a great book to start little ones on musical instruments and symphony. The drawings are beautiful and story telling from the little mice is engaging. My 2.5 years old loved the book immediately and enjoy pressing the buttons to hear the different instruments. Very informative and would recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Symphony for Kids

I was excited about getting this. But sound is super quiet, even with new batteries, and sounds very cheapishly animated, I was expecting real symphony instrument sounds. Still, it is fun for little ones to push the buttons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended- fantastic book

I can’t say enough good things about this book. This is is a fantastic book and my 3 year old and 1 year old read it at least 3 times a day. It’s so enjoyable and educational. The music is wonderful, the descriptions of the symphony, instruments, and elements of music are beautiful. I like how the pages have different types of print so i can choose which parts to read to my young kids who won’t sit for too long (sometimes we just read what the mice are saying or just the descriptions of the instruments if we’re in a rush.) Besides the music, my son is learning how to recognize and match numbers from this book because each sound is numbered in the book and in the sound bar. He is learning fine motor by pressing the button the right way. My son has a significant speech delay and difficulties expressing himself, but he can say and act out all of these instruments and musical elements in this book. He asks to listen to “the symphony” every day now on the radio. This book is the family favorite and I can’t wait to try out the jazz version.

Excellent book!
