5.0 out of 5 stars A poetic retelling of a familiar story.
This book was poetic and meaningful. It was unlike any allegory or retelling I've encountered. It takes the Biblical gospels and Acts and condenses them into a whimsical fantasy-style tale that brings new interest and intrigue to the well-known stories.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Classical rendition of the New Testament
I love the style. Intriguing the mind and heart to work harder to catch the meaning...combining stories carefully interwoven from many layers of history into a tale of the battle of Good and Evil at their core.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great service, 3-books-in-1!
I was excited to find this allegory again! I have an older set that was falling apart so getting the Trilogy in one book is great. If you enjoyed Pilgrims Progress you will like this series!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing allegory
First of all I read the singer when I was in high school. I graduated in 1976. This is an awesome book because he took the life of Christ and if anyone has any interest in music all the better. It’s deep but it’s an easy read there is not a bad language but some imagery in the last part of the trilogy that you may or may not want your teenager to read. Personally I would have no problem having my teenagers reading it and I raised for teenagers. This book is so deep it’s unfathomable. I don’t know how to describe it you can read it quickly it’s an easy read but I would suggest you read it slowly and really taken the captions that are before each chapter. Awesome book and if you don’t get anything out of it the first time was it down give yourself a little space then read it again I guarantee You you won’t be sorry. I look forward to reading others of his work.

This was used but in excellent condition as promised. And signed by the author. An extra surprise!
4.0 out of 5 stars My second reading of Calvin Miller's 1975 very poetic trilogy ...
My second reading of Calvin Miller's 1975 very poetic trilogy on the work of Christ. A very entertaining read and the 3 in 1 book is a value. A Spirit filled fantasy, similar to C.S. Lewis works but more poetic.
5.0 out of 5 stars from a new(late)comer
I am a new fan of Calvin Miller's work. How has this book received so little acclaim? This is a beautifully written poetic piece which captures the heart of the gospel. I appreciate the fact Miller has chosen Song as metaphor for grace. It can no more be stopped except by someone's refusal to listen (believe). It also illustrates the mindset of the establishment existent before the Singer's arrival and their intimidation by a song.
5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful
A most compelling way to read again a true story told in such a creative and powerful way.
Very poetic
Loved the three books when they came out in the 70s. Bought this for a friend who is enjoying it. Print is fairly small.

Great book
I first read this in the 80's and now that it is together as one book so much easier to take with you somewhere. Excellent book.

Very pleased. Thank you.
Wonderful book!
This is the most amazing piece of poetry with beautiful language and imagery. A must read for any Christian who would like to read an innovative retelling of the gospel story. Was delighted to find it available on Kindle.
