I bought this after hearing it mentioned in an interview I watched. Very happy to have done so. I read it through in a week. It has helped on my personal journey as well as others I’ve shared it with. I lent it to a doctor I worked with and after reading it he bought a juicer and started recommending it to his patients.This books helps one to understand the connection between holistic medicine and real life integration. The scientific study and explanations help to provide sound evidence.I have used many of the recommendations for recipe with my own health and wellness. Grateful to have this in my book collection.

Norman W Walker is one of the founding fathers of juicing, nutrition and a healthy diet, along with Weston Price, Frances Pottenger, Ann Wigmore, and a handful of others like Max and Charlotte Gerson and Stanley Burzynski. If I left out one of your favorites, I do apologize because there are many others too. Norman W. Walker has written many, many fine and well written books on health, nutrition and juicing.This book is not a recipe book for juicing, although it does have some terrific combinations for juices in it. What it is, is an excellent source of information on what the benefits of juicing different vegetables and fruits are and how each individual fruit or vegetable juice will help your body and its systems to become and continue to remain healthy, and heal itself from disease, including some terriffic combinations of fruits and veggies.The book gives you these sections:Uses and Benefits of Vegetable JuicesTopics of Vital InterestVegetable and Fruit Juices- Their Therapeutic UsesVegetable Value ChartFruit Value ChartAilments and FormulasDo not be fooled by its size. There is a lot of very valuable information cantained in its pages!!! It is definitely worth buying, reading and keeping available for reference.Overall it is an Excellent book that belongs in the collection of everyone interested in their health, nutrition, and juicing, also anyone trying to heal their bodies from disease including and especially life threatening diseases and those who have been told by traditional medicine to "Put their affairs in order." Even then, it may not be to late and you very well could still heal your body and have many healthy and happy years of living ahead of you. Yes it does take reading and focus and following a strict diet including plenty of freshly juiced veggies but there are many, many people still alive decades after being told there was no hope any they had only months left to live.Our bodies, by design, were meant to live almost 1000 years. With the toxins present in our environment and our food today and especially the S.A.D. diet (The Standard American Diet) the western world eats today that is NOT possible. But with a change in diet to what our bodies were designed to eat and the elimination of as many toxins as is possible in our very toxic world many of us can still extend our lives significantly if we are willing to change.If you want to be healthier, heal from disease and live longer it is still possible. Read the books by Norman W Walker, Max and Charlotte Gerson, Ann Wigmore and Frances Pottenger to name just a few. In a year or so you may no longer need any prescriptions and you will feel so much better you will wonder why you did not make the change sooner, just be sure to get your doctor involved to watch and monitor you.

The author of this book is the famous Dr Norman Walker who invented one of the most efficient juicers in the world, the Norwalk Juicer. He lived what he preached and made it to 99 years old despite some reports of him living to as old as 117. Anyway, some of this research and terminology might me a bit dated but the overall information is solid and holds up well. For example, his mention of Kale is sparse and he refers the reader back to cabbage since it is part of that family. Today, we know that Kale is king of the veggies and is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet - the same can be said about collard greens which is not directly mentioned in this book. It was only about 20-30 years ago, well after Dr Walker left us, that the concept of phytonutrients came into being. This new information only serves to place his work as well ahead of its time making this book the basis for just about all other juicing books on the market. The later part of the book provides specific formulas (juice combinations) suggested for specific ailments.Note 1: This book is revision of Walkers original 'Raw Vegetable Juice' book so there is no need to buy both books. Despite the title, the revised book is mostly vegetable juice.Note 2: This book about juicing handsomely compliments another recent book which I very strongly recommend -  Super Immunity: The Essential Nutrition Guide for Boosting Your Body's Defenses to Live Longer, Stronger, and Disease Free  which expounds in great detail on the virtues of veggies, especially the dark leafy greens. I hate dark leafy greens to eat but I now juice them twice daily along with things like carrots, beets...Note 3: leafy vegetables do not juice well in the more common centrifugal juicers like those offered by Jack LaLanne, Breville, or the Juiceman. The yield is low and fast spinning blades causing oxidation lowering the nutrient value and shelf life. Instead I can highly recommend juicers like the  Omega J8004 Nutrition Center Commercial Masticating Juicer, White  or 8006 which are slower, single auger masticating juicers which that yield more nutrition. Of course if you have $2,500 to spend get a Norwalk Juicer...

I was feeling tired and lethargic for a long time, working and looking after a family means you can easily get rundown. A relative suggested I tried these juices, which I did and it’s made such a difference. I’ve just started running and doing weights again. I have so much more energy.

i read an excerpt in French of this book and it was really good! sur le site crohn super forumstill some good info despite what have read already and know!recommended by all Hygienist as a classic text, i got his colon vibrant health which is good but not as good as Dr Jensen Tissue cleansing through bowel movement or Intestin Libre in French ;)voir aussi le site de l'asso Regenere orgvoila du top bouquin! et l'Alimentation Vivante de Christina Belnez aussii finally bought it for a few euros as well as his other bookslots of simple recipes and original with the facts of what brings so and so on vegetables, it's not referenced which is a big problem and he does state that he researches in the litterature but it's not enough, Jensen tends to do that too but Nature as a Remedy of Jensen is packed full of so many advices and stories, that those books are still worth it despite some crazy claims and stuff we know does not work now...but still for me it's good to dive in the old stuff because we found clues of what is claimed now but with no references. I believe him and Jensen were true seekers and with experiences and research

I first read this book on borrowing it some 15 years ago. I became very busy, but my spirit never let go of the principles imbued in this book, and so it was simply a case of time before I took up the mantle again. This happened at the end of last year when I began the pH Miracle, with many of the advocated features from this Programme. It slotted in well with Walker's views on healthy diet, and the main ones are to cleanse the system and juice organic veg and fruits. This book looks at the properties of these juices, the diseases they can be used for and why and how they work in promoting excellent health. A must read for everyone who has any intentions of living a healthy, and even spiritual life. A clean vibrant body is essential to progress, be it physically, mentally or spiritually. A must read for everyone who simply wishes to be well, and to care for the health of their children. Juices are so powerful and a wonderful restorative, and this book is written by probably the world's leading expert in their properties and uses. A book that can change your life forever!

Habe das Buch unseren Freunden geschenkt, die schon seiten einem Jahr eine Saftpresse haben. Es hat ihnen sehr gut gefallen. Endlich weiß man welches Kraut für was gut ist. Wer nach nach Rezepten sucht, ist mit diesem Buch schlecht beraten. Aber das brauch ja nicht. Man hat selbst genug Fantasie was zusammen schmeckt, da gibt es keine Grenzen. Ich selbst habe das buch auch und würde mir es immer wieder kaufen.
