5.0 out of 5 stars Buy the Ford translation.
I bought this book thinking that the full text of Mein Kampf would be included. Its not. However, this book convinced me that the Ford translation is the most accurate of all the translations, and I look forward to reading it. I learned two very important things: 1. Hitler dictated the book to Hess, and others, and should be read as if it was one of Hitler's infamous histrionic and gesticulation-filled speeches to the German Volk. 2. Just one example of how all the other translators got it wrong and Ford gets it right: There is one word, in Mein Kampf, that contains two German words that, literally translated, mean 'Sheepshead." One of the earlier translators translated it as "Muttonhead." Another translated it as "nincompoop." Two other translators just put the German word in the English sentence, and let the reader try to figure it out for himself (which includes the feminine, thank you, very much). Ford says that the word means a Bavarian card game, which is the only way for it to mean anything in its context. Smashing scholarship on Ford's part.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not a complete translation, but an interesting read.
It is *not* marketed as a complete translation, so I am not criticizing the book for being honestly and well titled, but is an interesting and learned case study in the problems of translation that can bedevil any other book intended to be a book. I benefited from that. It made me scratch my chin about translations of the “Old Testament”, Marx’s Capital, etc. that I have read in the 21st century intended for American readers. Also it was useful to me to learn that it was not originally “a book”, but more like a transcript of a speech … an oral composition, in effect. The author clearly tries to appear non-partisan, but since the reader does not know what sections of the original the author does not expand upon and thus does not include for the readers’ viewing, combined with some of the quotes he offers as improvements over earlier translations that strike me as glaringly racist and hate filled, the author’s challenging the popular belief that Adolph Hitler has been deliberately and systematically misunderstood, raised strong suspicions in my mind about the author and his true intentions. But since I was reading the book in search of insights into the psychology and sociology of the extreme right wing in contemporary America, l feel satisfied.
1.0 out of 5 stars This book does not contain Mein Kampf
I did not do enough research on this book before I bought it. I made the assumption that this book also contained the text of Mein Kampf. It does not. My mistake. It just presents arguments about why the author's translation of Mein Kampf is the version that you need to read. Oh well.Nonetheless, I decided to buy the author's translation of Mein Kampf. Sadly while this book was offered in eBook form, the author's translation of Mein Kampf is not offered that way. I ended up buying the audiobook version, which is not my preferred , means of consuming a book's content.
5.0 out of 5 stars Important book to know Mein Kampf
Since the release of the Ford translation of Mein Kampf, (the authority on Mein Kampf, and therefore an authority of political science and world history) the western world has been entered into a new era of the Information Age. This book thoroughly demonstrates the superiority of the Ford translation over the past translations from, for example, the 30s and 40s. The human race will certainly and positively benefit from the Ford translation of Mein Kampf.

Pleasant buy
I am happy
Very interesting.
Too many people discard content in the facebook "like" level. An awful lot to learn and understand by reading this. The original version was a bit "uphill" to say the least, but this work helped in understanding content.
Superior translation
This is a highly readable book that avoids the translation failures of essentially all other versions, which are superbly well documented (including a separate book for that?). Extra text explanations are also essential to understanding the [semantics, context] of the German version.
Easy to decipher
Good book
Recommnede read.
I was waiting to obtain a copy of Mr Ford's Mein Kampf translation and this small tome helped, although it is a little repetitive and not the easiest read.Well worth to small cost.
