I originally stumbled upon this book as I was perusing my local library. It was such an informative read from the few pages I skimmed over that weeks later I remembered & decided it was worth the investment to buy! Dr. Andrew Jacono gives detailed & thorough information in an easy to understand format. He doesn't talk over your head but to you, which most can appreciate. There is valuable information for anyone who wants to learn more about how to look their best, no matter what age group, and what procedure's work long term versus ones that don't. I was shocked to learn what causes wrinkles, why facial creams do not get to the root issue (no matter the marketing hype or price), and what actually does work. I always love doctors who educate their patients and that is what Dr. Jacono accomplished with this concise book. In addition to the information he also included natural supplements & foods that aid the body in healing from surgery, or in preparation before surgery. Whether you are deciding to go in for a lunch break botox sesh or get a complete overhaul, this book is worth reading prior to your appointment to help you make the best choice possible for your individual needs! I give this book 5 stars.

Frankly, were there a court of law for facial abuse I’d probably get a life sentence for doing almost everything wrong. I have survived in spite of wrong advice, bad advice, fancy sale gurus who spout unbelievable ignorance that I willingly bought. Haven’t we all been there to one degree or another? Truly, I grew weary of it all.But where to go? Who to listen to ? Happily, synchronicity led me to a joyful and surprising discovery, when I happened to find a truth teller who speaks both to my head and heart. More is the joy that he is an esteemed, knowledgeable Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Andrew Jacono. For me, he has proven himself to be a wise, gentle companion and guide. I can only imagine the problems that walk into his office begging, hoping, that he can repair the bad advice - the inappropriate actions via bad choices, the bad surgery and or other steps - his patients surely bring to him - most likely innocently choices. Surely it’s no easy job. Indeed, how much nicer for all of us if we don’t make the errors in the first place. Let this book be your guide. Even if you aren’t big on reading - no worries. Buy the book alone for its “Pearls of Wisdom”. They alone are priceless! I’ll bet you’ll be tempted to read on, wanting to know more and realizing the need to know more. Thus I wish you happy wisdom, happy reading, and a huge bravo and thank you to Dr. Andrew Jacono. Well done! We ALL must own our faces and do the best we can with the faces we have. So my suggestion is to buy this book. Let him guide you! Have a delightful time facing the facts! I know you will!

This book provides a frank, and eye opening discussion of popular cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures. Definitely worth the effort to read if only "thinking" about undergoing a facial make over.

If I hadn't already read many books before this one about plastic surgery I might have thought this was a good book and very informative, however for me this book has basic information. I wish I had not purchased this book.

I initially got this book because I was researching doctors for a future rhinoplasty. It was written by Dr. Andrew Jacono, a highly rated plastic surgeon in NY.As detailed as it is, I was a little disappointed because it had 2 pages concerning rhinoplasty while the rest of the book consisted of face lifts and breast augmentations. Overall if you need info about nose jobs you're better off looking on line.
