Just finished reading "The Bible for Dummies" book and absolutely loved it! Having read the Holy Bible multiple times, different versions and languages, this book clarified some lingering questions. It's an easy read with a touch of humor, all while being respectful to all faiths. Highly recommend it! 📚

“The Bible for Dummies” by Jeffrey Geoghegan and Michael Homan is a great resource for anyone who wants to understand the Bible without feeling lost. It explains both the Old and New Testaments in simple, easy-to-read sections, covering the stories and main ideas clearly.The authors do a good job of balancing the religious and historical parts of the Bible. They make it interesting with fun facts and helpful pictures. This book is perfect for beginners and also useful for those who know the Bible but want a refresher.Overall, “The Bible for Dummies” is an excellent guide for anyone interested in learning about the Bible’s teachings in a straightforward way.

If you don't know anything about the bible, this is a good start. I was raised in a home that practiced Christianity(although I wouldn't consider myself one) and know most of this stuff already, but if you really want the basics without reading the entire bible, this is the book for you. Once you get past the introduction of the book, I would recommend having a bible, then reading the books a long with this book as well. That way you can read a book and have the basics explained to you if you get lost in the basic understanding. It would make a good tool for solo bible study. Either for the newbie or someone rereading it at a different point in life(as I did). The part I enjoyed about the book is that it wasn't too dogmatic for being a book about the bible. I wasn't looking to be preached to. I just wanted to read a religious text and understand what it means. Now this is a "Dummies" book, so it's rather basic in it's explanations. If you want a more in depth or scholarly interpretation of what happened in the bible I suggest going with someone like N.T. Wright

I have had so many questions regarding what was "really" being said in the Bible and this made it so easy to cut to the language of what they really are meaning to say. I have this on hand for my son's scriptures class at school and it so easy when he gets a tad confused.

It's a physically great book, like new condition, and great seller. But the book itself is a bore. "Complete Idiot's Guide To... Etc" , is what you need to buy, to get a more thorough understanding of each section of the Bible. I mean, literally (haha) there's ONE small paragraph explaining SOME of subject on Mary Magdalene. Not much to go on. That's pretty much as per usual in this "guide to".

This book really deserves five stars because approaches the main subjects of the bible of a briefly way, bringing to the reader a quality content of information and interpretation. For me there are no negative points. Therefore, I would recommend this book for everyone who wants a quick reading of the bible topics and a source of interpretation of its content. Simply amazing.

This book is exactly what it says it is. It coversmost of the stories and gives you a very basic outline of who the main charachters are and the stories.it also has some help points and information and is very enjoyable to read. The subject matter is easy to find and a must have for anyone who doesn't have the time or patience to try and decipher the bible

Doesn't tell you who or what God is or why he did what he did (as told in the Bible). Tells you the stories of the Bible so that anyone can understand them. Like a summary of the Bible.
