5.0 out of 5 stars Official Disney Parks Cookbook
One thing I know when I have previously visited the Disney parks (and hope to in the future), is that most of the food is memorable. I make sure I pre-order every single Disney Parks cookbook for this reason, and this one does not disappoint. Maybe there was a meal you wanted to enjoy, but couldn't fit it in on your vacation, or there was a meal you can't forget about, and need it at home, too.The recipes are easy, and haven't disappointed yet. My husband who hates chili, loved Walt's recipe! The Brown Derby Cobb Salad is a staple, and the charred corn chowder is rich and delicious, for just a few recipes I've made from this book. I have many more saved for later! There may be some recipes that have ingredients I wasn't able to readily find in my local Publix, since chicory leaves didn't have a place on the shelf. But, overall, the recipes have easy to follow directions, and many beautiful pictures. If you love to cook, and a Disney fan, this 100% belongs on your shelf! I will continue to come back to it over and over.
5.0 out of 5 stars great book, has a coupon now for 2.xx off, so it's even cheaper
I took a chance on this book because in the past, i did like eating at the park even though the prices are astronomical now lol. But I thought maybe they will have things i have never seen before and exactly, so many dishes, so many desserts and a good sprinkling of different alcoholic drinks. So it's not for kiddie recipes, although there are some great looking desserts in here. What i like is there is also dishes from Aulani in Hawaii, like Poke, so it has a lot of new things to try. The next time the company has a potluck it will be from one of these recipes as they all look so good. And no, not all the recipes are unique, but they are brought together as recipes used at one of the Disney resorts, so it's interesting also to see what they serve at the different areas, including california adventure, epcot, aulani, and disneyland of course. Anyways, for the price you can't go wrong. Coupon cuts price to 10.xx.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cookbook
If you love Disney and love the food at the parks you should get this! Great recipes inside!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great!
I purchased this cookbook to help plan my Disney themed adult Halloween party. I actually only made one recipe out of it, but that recipe was delicious. I am looking forward to making more of these recipes. However, as a vegetarian and a non-alcohol drinker, I’m slightly shocked and slightly disappointed at the number of meat and alcohol recipes. Meat ones are easy enough to fix and make them vegetarian, but there’s a lot of alcohol recipes in here, but I have no use for. I’m still really excited to cook a lot of stuff in this book.
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice book but the recipe choices stink
Many of these recipes aren’t appealing. Very old park recipes that have not existed in years or similar substitutes that aren’t like actual park recipes. Needs updates.
5.0 out of 5 stars Batuuan Wrap!
We’ve been going through the recipes for food (skipping drinks and desserts) and I’ve liked all of them so far. My favorite is the batuuan wrap - I got to try spices that I never used before and I guess the experience has been educational.I also have my 15-year-old cousin cook from it. The steps are easy enough he can do most of them (with guidance) and he’s learning common cooking terms and techniques. I think it also helps him practice focusing and learning about measuring things like carrots and shredded cabbage. He still is padawan. He interpreted shredded cabbage as one leaf of cabbage and tear it a few times - the cole slaw ended up looking like some fancy gourmet chef’s $300 appetizer. The recipes I think are simplified so a family can make it and sometimes you have to be creative to make what you make look like the picture (I would invest in squeeze bottles). So sometimes cooking experience helps. But what you make is edible and tastes good. What I don’t like is that there isn’t a TABLE OF CONTENTS. And the index is not alphabetical. The Index is by type of food and specific location. The recipe book is organized by theme park. Other than that major pitfall, I really like this book! I actually bought a second copy for my cousin. And my other cousin bought her own copy too.I even used the batuuan wrap (Bah-too-oo-ahn) wrap for my birthday bbq party. We used beef strips instead of pork butt and naan instead of pita. I normally hate coleslaw but this one is pretty good. And I personally would add more Sichuan peppercorn and sumac.
5.0 out of 5 stars Made for special meals.
This Disney cookbook is filled with impressive recipes taken from their various parks, and you will not be disappointed. In addition, you get little tidbits about the place you weren’t aware. Now, you won’t find a lot of health food in this book, but this is a cookbook made for special occasions. Who doesn’t want a meal they once had at Disney for their birthday? This cookbook makes it simple to understand how to accomplish that. I like it, and I think you will too.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Addition
I've been collecting Disney Cookbooks for awhile and this is a great addition. I love all the details and facts that are woven in among the recipes. Makes it a really interesting read as well as a cookbook
Perfect gift for a Disney fan!
Lots of popular Disney parks recipes. Book is great quality and recipes are easy to follow. So far we’ve only made one recipe but it turned out just like it is in the park!
