5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sock Book!
Summer Lee’s book, The Sock Project, is great! Have several sock books and she has one of the better written books on the market today. Lots of color work, great instructions , everything you need to know to knit beautiful socks! I did not need one more sock book, but I was not disappointed! Love all the photos that guide you through various steps while constructing your sock. She also does a wonderful job combining color combinations for her socks. It’s a winner! 🧶🧶🧶
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, fun, informative!
Knitters, you will love this book! If you have never knitted a sock, Summer Lee will lead you through the process with wonderfully clear instructions and gentle humor. If you have knitted scores of socks, she will inspire you, expand your sock-knitting horizons and encourage you to try new designs, colors, and techniques. The photographs are gorgeous, the array of spectacular sock patterns is positively mind-bending, and the text is a joy to read. This is a book I will turn to again and again!
5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Love this Book by Summer!
I have been a sock knitter for quite some time and this book is such a wonderful exploration into the experience of sock knitting. I had pre-ordered and couldn’t wait for it to arrive! When it came it truly was a delight to read, I couldn’t put it down. It is filled with patterns, techniques, stories and so much more! Summer shares her experience and love for this art form so openly with her readers and in such a special way. The book is printed with incredible color photos of examples and feels so good in your hands, you won’t want to put it down! What a job well done and thank you Summer for re-instilling in me why I love sock knitting so much!
5.0 out of 5 stars Sock Knitter's Dream
I have become addicted to knitting socks and watch the author's very enjoyable and informative podcast. Her sense of humor comes through in her writing too. Her book has great directions for making many types of heels and a large number of sock patterns and I want to make them all! (I just counted them, there are 26 patterns.) The patterns start with basic socks and move on to socks with cables, socks with colorwork, socks with fades, socks with lace and socks with slipped stitches. Most patterns use fingering weight yarn but a few use DK for when you want a chunky sock. The directions are very clear and include many photographs. A chapter on the many possible materials that can be used (needles, yarns and notions) is very helpful, as is the chapter on sizing. This is a very user friendly book and one that you will be glad to have in your knitting library.
5.0 out of 5 stars Buy This Book before shopping for individual patterns
Ok. First. My order arrived a day early so Thank you.Second, holy moly! I just flipped through the book and my thoughts are this:A) several heel options are covered. As a beginner sock knitter with my 2nd pair almost complete, I am excited to explore my heel options and thrilled so many are in one book.B) I was researching a lacy sock design for mom for Christmas and there are several in this book. I don’t begrudge buying patterns and had several chosen to buy on ravelry. However, purchasing patterns individually gets expensive quickly.C) the chapter for color work appears to take the fear out of trying it at first glance.D) I have several sock books. I’m no expert but out of them all, this and Ann Budd’s Getting Started Knitting Socks are invaluable resources. I think I can donate all my other socks books.E) this book (along with Ann Budd’s book) cover literally everything! Cables, cuff down, color work, fades, DK, toe up, heels, fit and sizing. Perfect for the beginner sock knitter but also a great book for experienced knitters as well.F) there are 25 patterns in this book. I found at least 9 I want to try right away. Those patterns purchased separately would most likely cost double (or more) the price of this one book. This may be my longest review ever on Bolo but wanted to explain this book far exceeded my expectations. Happy knitting.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Sock Project Book
I love this book! Funny, energetic, colorful. Most of the patterns are cuff-down constructions but one toe-up on a special fleegle heel technique construction. Great fun sock book to learn and hone your knitting skills and techniques from the basics to textural, to striping and colorwork, to lace and cables.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Sock Book!
This book is full of sock patterns for cable and double pointed needles. There are several types of heel patterns . Well written and has good ideas on using up small balls of yarn, combining 3 or more colors into one sock. Patterns are easy to understand. Love this book!
5.0 out of 5 stars gorgeous and informative book
I'm new to knitting socks, and after finding Summer on youtube I knew I had to get her book. The pictures are stunning, the patterns are easy to follow, and I love her sense of humor she sprinkles throughout the book. Highly recommend to any sock knitter!
Most bright and beautiful coloured socks ever
Nice book, clear instructions for beginners and interesting enough for advance knitters.I love her mix of colours and textures. That makes the book irresistible in my view.
Muito insatisfeita
Eu não comprei. O débito apareceu e até agora não consegui abrir. Nem Kindle eu tenho.
